  1. My son was at TX A&M for a Junior/Senior camp Sat. and told me Green was his QB on most drills and was a BEAST! He said he had touch on short routes and a cannon on vertical routes. We weren't able to watch the workout because there wasn't a sprinkler system installed yet in their indoor practice facility. Green got a lot of love from the coaches. I've never seen him play but this will help Dayton considerably because a teams success almost always starts and ends with the guy behind center.
  2. What about HF in 2007? Will new coach = TD passes and more offensive scoring? What are we to expect? Is there enough talent to get to 2nd or 3rd in 21-3A?
  3. All these so called football fans on here and no one has any comments about the spring games on Sat. If 3A had it I would be on here with a major critique of our team. Someone give us some info!
  4. How many rounds are left in the playoffs? If someone could give me all levels that are still in playoff from this area. The computer I'm on can't read the UIL's site info. referring to the rounds. Thanks!
  5. Great to see a HF ex player Justin Woolwine doing well over at High Island.
  6. 800 it seemed like 2000 it took over an hour just to get into the gate to check in. I brought my son over from Hamshire and didn't see any local teams represented there. The kids all changed into Nike Combine shirts after they checked in so there could have been a few local guys there. I saw the HJ coaching staff working on the field so I would have to assume some HJ guys were there.
  7. He is a junior making a verbal commitment. Why announce it now! He has not signed anything and either will or won't until Feb. 08. If he waits he can get to see how he will fit on the depth chart after injuries, graduation, people kicked off team, people quiting or transferring and NFL wannabes leave school. You are talking about over a year before he would step on a campus. Mack Brown could be at another school and the recruiter he dealt with could be somewhere else. The recruiting process is involved. Anyone who has been recruited or around those that have been know that most of the time waiting is usually the best thing to do. UT is always loaded maybe he should go somewhere where he could start as a frosh or at least be able to compete for a starting spot. Waiting would allow him to consider those things. I've never seen him play. Apparantly he is good if he got offers from A&M and UT. More offers will come this summer if he goes to the one day camps and standsout or after the 2007 season if he has another great one. I hope it works out for him wherever he goes.
  8. This guy has one more year to play and he already committed and then he changed it. He probably will change it again if he is as good as advertised in his senior year. Guys need to play their senior years and weigh the goods and bads of programs before they commit. Other programs that fit his style of play may make offers in the next year. I would suggest juniors to hold out until the best offer comes and then along with their parents make a well thought out decision.
  9. For those that weren't at the game most of the errors were wind and youth related. Every ball that got up into the air came back toward the infield making it hard for the two soph and the frosh outfielders to judge. Coach Landry is playing with a team comprised of mostley sophs, a few juniors, two seniors, and one frosh. The present is dim but the future is very bright!
  10. I knew about that site I was hoping to get some first person details from the track team on how they did and how it felt to be running with all the great teams from throughout Texas.

  12. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions!
  13. To Adminbaberuth With the record number are there still openings left?
  14. Congrats to the HF Track team members that went to the Texas Relays. If anyone has info on the final standings of those that participated I would appreciate it.
  15. To Adminbaberuth How many signed up so far? Am I to take it that if the best select guys play on your teams that means this league is very competitive? When are the practices and games scheduled nights and weekends? I have a kid out of HF that wants to play but he will be going to football camps. Will coaches hold it against players that miss time for football camps?
  16. I hate to see Coach Walker go he was a fine man. Small towns are coach killers if you aren't from there and you don't win enough. Everyone in the HF area thought HF had a lot of talent to work with but we aren't that talented at football. We don't have enough good players yet! We need a few special players and a lot of good players like WOS has every year. Every team but us had a least one or two guys that everyone in the Golden Triangle knew about. Maybe one day. Coaching was just a small part of the problem here! Lack of talent was a large part! I hope you have more success at your next stop Coach!!
  17. I didn't see T. Thomas EC on this list. Did I overlook it or is this a case of small school bias?
  18. I think that most parents would ban metal bats based on safety and cost. HS players wouldn't want a ban because they don't think about safety at this point of their lives and they're not the ones buying the bats. Most of us parents have to work several hours in a week to buy just a bat. They also need gloves, shoes, food to eat after game, also we have to get gas to go to two to three games a week. Don't get me started on the other things we have to buy other than sporting equipment. Don't have a kid playing every sport like I do because you never get a break even during summer because there are football camps, baseball leagues, and basketball leagues to play in! These kids aren't mature enough yet to see the risk of metal bats because most of the time they don't see the risk in other things like driving recklessly. At least one HF kid is on here talking about why not ban baseball! Come on DL settle down ;D we all love baseball too much to ever do that!!
  19. Ban them. Use wood bats. It will cut out some of the home runs but a lot of teams play small ball anyway. I watched a kid barely miss getting hit in the face Tues at Jasper in the JV game. The hard shot would have killed the kid.
  20. Thomas is the best returning QB in the area! Has anyone ever seen a year where most teams in the area will be starting a new QB in 07? The kids know the JV guys but us adults didn't see them play unless we had a kid playing on the JV team. Hopefully the coaches played them as they should in that the starting JV QB should be the 2nd best QB at your school. This allows him to get playing time and if needed get the callup to Varsity.
  21. Did you see the team play PNG? How did HF look? I was at the basketball game watching HJ beat HF up in all three games! HF had about 6 guys on the basketball teams that play baseball that will finally play on Friday.
  22. The supporters of HF baseball would like to thank all the great teams of 21-3A for allowing HF to participate in the "best district in Texas". HF will be very young but don't sleep on them! I hope the other teams continue to over look these boys. Coach Landry will put our best players on the field and they will come to play every game! I can't put names up yet on who will be the standouts because I don't know. But by the time district play starts everyone will know!
