  1. HFANINTHESTANDS What is your opinion on HF this year?
  2. SSSSHH! HF will be sneaking up on 21-3A! HF will be very young! With no expectations other than to go out and play hard. Everyone please keep underestimating our young squad. ;D
  3. They asked the question and I answered it. JW was on Varsity and possibly would have played most of the year there if not for a breaking a hand during basketball season. I talked about two guys not just my guy. At least when I'm on here I actually have something to say! Pooper-Scooper are you a player or a player-hater :?: :!: You have been hating since football season maybe he had a spot you wish you had at starting WR or at the end of the year when he played QB. Quit hating!! You know who I am give me your name and if you do something good I'll talk good about you too! This forum is for the fans and dads to talk about the players. The only thing we want from you kids is to play the games to the best of your ability, to well in class, stay out of trouble, and stay off the boards! And hopefully make our predictions come to fruition!
  4. Thats right I forgot about Taylor. Glad to hear he did well this summer. He struggled with his bat at times last season. Hitting was one of his strengths at the lower levels so I know it will be much improved this season. Is basketball over yet :?:
  5. I named two Daigle and Wright. Who was this third that never came off the field?
  6. On HF- J.Wright (IF,OF,RHP) and Hagan Daigle (OF). Both were late callups for the end of the season and the playoffs. Wright broke his hand at the end of basketball season and only played in one frosh game before being moved to Varsity. Neither batted but ran bases in the playoffs. Unknown how well they will play. IMHO I think both of them will be in the running for newcomer of the year if not an all district spot. Both were very good players at the lower levels. They will be the fastest players on this team. Wright should lead our team in steals. We had around 12 seniors leave last year. There will be only a few seniors on this team and most of them were on JV not Varsity last year. So our team will be soph driven with possibly 5 or more starting. They plan to surprise a lot of teams in 21-3a!
  7. Is anyone familiar with the Lone Star Athletics Evaluation Camp at Blinn College? Is it worth the time and money $125?
  8. HF will be much improved. We will shock some people next season. IMHO I think we will end up either in 2nd or 3rd place next season. Our sophs have been our most athletic class in a while. We had 9 of them on varsity with 7 of them starters. They all played well. The rest of them will be on varsity next year. Our team will be junior driven. Hopefully QB play will be improved with #2 getting a lot of snaps at the end of the season. He brings a run/pass option that we have never had before. We would like to see him be similiar to ECs qb in style.
  9. HF got to see both players up close this year. We beat OF and lost to BC. Ramsey didn't have his best game against us but he has good stats. Dishon is nice but he is a natural RB. But you have to put him on the list somewhere because he is a playmaker and one of the best players in the area! How about they put an athlete position on the district deal? I'm not sure if they do it at for the all-state level but kids are ranked by colleges as athletes with no one position. Congrats to the HF players who were all district selections! especially my soph guys
  10. 1. WOS because they always reload. 2-4 Who knows? It will probably be the same teams as this year. If HF can play the same type of defense as this year and get consistant QB play we will battle for 3rd or 4th place. In the last few games we played one of our starting WRs, a soph., that had never taken a snap as QB until the 4th week of the season and then on the JV level for 2 weeks. He will be (arguably) our best athlete returner next year. He will need to play Off, Def, and special teams for us. If he is the QB next year this years experience will help him a lot. He has to get better over the summer throwing the ball and not be just a runner. I mention QB play because we have not had a great QB since '79 out here. The QB is the difference maker on most teams high school, college, and the pros.We had as many if not more sophs starting as Kville did this year without them having any JV exp. They will be better for it. We lost 4 games by 6 or less points. We could have easily been 7-3 overall and 4-2 in district. We expect this team to be extremly competitive by their senior year 08-09.
  11. Unfortunately HF will win less than 10 games this season. New coach old pattern. LOSING! This is par for the course so I'll be watching our best basketball team-the GIRLS- before the season is halfway thru! I hate that that is the way it is out here but unlike the pooper-scooper I make honest statements!
  12. I was told Deweyville at HF is on Sat. because of Deweyvilles playoff game.
  13. 1. Rhodes-Mr. Do Everything playing with a soph QB 2a. Thomas-homerun threat every time he touchs the ball 2b. Bevil-very accurate but throwing to IMHO the best athletes in the area 3. Dishon-as a fulltime RB would have been higher-best skill position BC player I've seen in the last 8yrs 4. Garrett-the future top Mustang-playmaker
  14. Yeh I can't help myself either and I don't have a dog in any fights! I'll make at least a one positive comment to our coaches and one comment to our team before I move on to the basketball forum. Hopefully HF boys basketball will give me something positive to talk about! If not I'll be on the girls basketball forum
  15. Since most of us are out of the playoffs shouldn't the football forum slow down? Most of us can't overhype rightly or wrongly our own team so are we still on here bashing or praising others? Hopefully praising! We are out and I hope that all the 21-3A teams do well! I would like to see one of them win a state title. Our players would hate on them but that would only help our district out in bringing more scouts to games. Even at HF we have athletes that would like to go to D1 even though it has been many, many years since that has happened in football. But I see a lot of athleticism with a few of the junior and sophs that are returning next year. We will be better than 3-7 next year! I hope
  16. Does that mean Liberty is twice as good as HF :?:   Oh well! Here we are in Hamshire waiting on next season again :!: On to basketball just like the rest of you!
  17. If all things were perfect this would work. I think some of them have an earlier and better knowledge of the game But what if your PeeWee QB is only 5'5" by the time he is in high school? and can't throw? What if the dominant RB is small and or slow by high school? What about coaching at the high school level that may pigeon hole particular players in certain team roles. For example the fastest guys playing WR instead of RBs when the QB can't throw the ball. IMHO I don't think it matters. There are a lot of smaller towns that have never had pee wee leagues and are very competitive. We have only had one for the last couple of years in the HF area. Maybe thats why we aren't winning we should have started sooner
  18. I was told that HF and Liberty's game will be cancelled or rescheduled. Liberty made the playoffs and their teams are undermanned.
  19. Our team, HF, played Liberty and WOS this season. WOS beat us before the schedule came out! We beat Liberty and also Splendora. That district is weak! If Liberty has the same QB as when we played them they are in trouble if they get behind in the game. He couldn't throw very well. Liberty better run the ball well and match points with WOS. That hasn't happened all year! Congrats to Liberty at least you made the playoffs! I'd like to see WOS go all the way. They have an impressive team. WOS 42 Liberty 12
  20. We, HF, beat Splendora and Liberty this season! 2 of our 3 wins. Both teams will lose first round to our 21-3A teams. Scores will be 40-very little. Unless they got a whole lot better! That district was very weak. Maybe HF can move over there next shakeup
  21. Good job Kirbyville! Once you all started rolling you couldn't be stopped! The Ville was as good as we expected! Hope you do well in the playoffs! Good job HF seniors! I hate that you guys weren't able to make the playoffs this year. Come back next year and support your former teamates!
  22. Congrats to Mem. I've enjoyed watching her play the last few years. She is the best basketball player, boy or girl, at our school! Hopefully this will be the start of more D1 athletes out of HF!
