i am going to have to go with coach comeaux from png. people just forget about her. the nederland team had so much talent and it is a combination of years of coach leach and determined players who played a lot of club ball. but png didn't have a girl that was very tall, and honestly watching them in warmups was very unimpressive. but they could do the foundational things very good. good defense, setting was good, smart ball placement, and they had a very good block. as opposed to what most people think, blocking must be taught, it doesn't just happen. so anyway with the natural talent she had i thought she put out an impressive team. ----- just a thought.

the 3a district normally has a really bad way of picking their all district picks. it used to be that friends would make friends happy.... how about just letting them be CO-MVP or outside hitter.... whatever. it really watered down the picks. they were trying to give awards to everyone. this seems to be a pretty fair list. they didn't have many from kirbyville, jasper, hj.... but all of the starters from h-f were better than any starter from wos, kirbyville, jasper, so that is a real bad "oversight" if you can call it that.

silsbee beat the mess out of jasper in 3... no suprise there.

the 3a district finishes tonight. as long as everyone wins it will be silsbee in first(they are playing jasper) HF (playing kirbyville) and BC(playing WOS) they are tied for second. as long as they both win they there will be a playoff game for the order.

in district play the only thing that matters is the record. head to head or whatever doesn't matter. but seeing who they both play..... i am betting on a playoff game for 2nd place. also i saw liberty beat tarkington. let me say that both of those teams are very good. clean and disciplined!!!! that bi district round will be very very good.

it sounds like bc just out played hf. the same way they out played silsbee not long ago. you can't call it luck when they beat the two top teams in the district.

how did BH do against forest brook last time they met? i know bh won, but was it a contest or a blowout?

there is no doubt that orangefield deserved that win. i have to say that they don't use any "normal" style of play. their offense, defense and serve receive are totally unconventional. they overcome that and win games because orangefield hustles like no other team. so ladies keep hustling! also hardin beat buna 3-0

i agree completely. without the top three teams - ned,png,lcm. the rest of the district is not really any good this year. sorry to say it so blunt, but can't really word it any nicer. i hope they are all in a rebuilding year. if i had to bet on a 4th place team i would guess it would be ozen.... but who knows. but as far as central shaking things up.... probably need another year or two. but i am glad to hear they are improving.

this should make that district race really interesting. hf has won the last 2 meetings in the playoffs, and they were outstanding games. but silsbee is having rebuilding time for that program. especially losing that outside hitter to nederland. so for them to beat hf..... that district might be a lot tighter than i had thought.

i have had a terrible time trying to keep up with teams records this year. i know in district that nederland is undefeated, PNG has 1 loss, and lcm is pulling in the third place spot. 3a - i know jasper probably hasn't and won't win a district game. i think HF and silsbee are undefeated, BC has 1 loss, that's all i've got. if you know of some way we can find results let me know.

that's my picks too. i have seen every team except dayton play, so unless something drastic happens that should be the order

easy now.... like i said i don't follow vidor sports. you gave some wonderful examples just like i asked you to. and i am from that district, grew up in it and competed in it. so i guess there are athletes in vidor after all......so can you come up with a reason why they don't win in volleyball and football,baseball, girls basketball, and i hate to say it, but even the boys team will probably be back to 4th, 5th or even lower in district. i only ask because you have made yourself out to be an expert. again, i am not picking on vidor, but unless you give some good reasons, the evidence is in the stat books. and congrats on the football win tonight.

i kind of thought this topic was dead, but i guess not.... anyway becca left vidor. she is now at bridge city. you are right no one knows her exact motives except her. but the thing about vidor not having any athletes..... besides 1 year in basketball please tell me in which of the other main sports has vidor made the playoffs in the last 5-7 years. i am not saying they haven't, i just don't know of any off hand. but i haven't kept up with vidor sports very much. but i know they haven't won in football or volleyball in a long time.... so is it the coaching or the lack of athletes? you decide.

my predictions: kingwood over wb - no question on that one. wb is still in a rebuilding decade i think. hope the new coach can bring some new life to the team. barbers hill over crosby huffman over galena park LCM over Ozen Lumberton over central vidor over dayton Nederland over PNG OF over Jasper - that could be a close game, if OF will hustle like i have seen them do in the past. they will not just win, but win big. BC over silsbee - silsbee is not the same powerhouse it used to be, but if BC doesn't show up and make every play they will get beat. WOS over Kirbyville HF over HJ good luck to all of you!!!!

Ozen beats LCM for tourney champ.... come on lady bears. i have seen you and ozen play and you are much better team. you better get your act together before district picks up next week.

lady bears, what happened????? png was so dominating. hope lcm can get their chemistry or whatever taken care of because they are a much better team than what showed up tuesday night. good luck lady bears at the tournament thursday and saturday.

birdman... were thinking a lot alike. only two things i would disagree with. I like LCM and they have a great chance to beat PNG. but i still think PNG will win that battle. i watched Barbers Hill against a 5a school and bh just demolished them. When BH played png they lost 3 straight. anyway that's my thinking... we will see if it's any good or not. but OF over silsbee?????? ouch, that is really pulling for the underdog. can't give you that one without wondering why? anyway best of luck to ya...... see how we did on tuesday.
