The 4th high school is not dead. The plan is on hold. It should be in the bond following the November bond. Central numbers will drop next year. Bevil Oaks was removed from the Central area. Those students will go to WB, giving WB a bigger advantage. I say WB will have 2700 students next year. Central will have 1200 Ozen will have 1400. This is my person opinion.

You can't fault Central. There is a 1,000 student greater population at WB. Central shrinking population will have them in 3A soon. Until that 4th high school is opened, I see WB dominating the Beaumont Bowl for years.

Football equals 2 womens sports. Right now with soccer there is 7 women and 6 men. If LU adds football, LU need at least 2 more womens sports. Dr Simmons said softball and swimming.

Relax, first you got a few facts wrong. Lamar women's soccer start play this fall, 07. Lamar has already approved Womens softball. A softball stadium will be built next to vicent-beck. Women's swimming should be the next womens sport. This clears the way for Lamar football. $9 million has already been approved for stadium renovations.

Switzer does not need the money. Tubbs coached LU for free. The deal Tubbs talked about getting Switzer here was not money, but rather perks like plenty of time golfing. A stress free job in other words. But this was 4 years ago. I don't know if Tubbs is still considering him. Tubbs and Switzer are friends so he would say yes.

Switzer won a NCAA and Superbowl, nothing for him to prove. So whether it is I-AA or popwarner, everyone will understand this would be more about LU than Switzer.

According to Tubbs, 3-4 years ago, Switzer said he would come if Tubbs offered a good deal. I like the attention nation wide Switzer presences would bring, but I question if his heart would be in the job.

Craig Stump would not say no if LU offered. He could then join is old buddy Todd Dodge in a few games. LU has until January to announce 09 football. I think it will be much sooner, maybe before the end of summer. If it is Stump, then they can't announce during a season. I wonder if Tubbs is still considering former Dallas Cowboys coach Barry Switzer.

The question is "when" not "if". TSU already approved $9 million for stadium renovation, a women's softball field is in the planning to be built next to Vincent-Beck. And women's swimming will be added. I say football returns for the fall 09 season.

Great finish, great season. So close that it is frustrating. What is more frustrating to me is the team splitting up when they all could come back to finish the job of a NC. Alabama finish 6th, 4 juniors and a sophomore, all returning. The number 1 player Lovemark is returning next year. Lamar has no seniors so why can't they return. We will never win a NC if players continue to leave early. Stanford could not win the NC today with out their 2 seniors.

Many of you obvious have not studied the other teams. All the teams ahead of LU last year lost 3 or more starters. These teams are rebuilding. LU got all 5 starters back on a senior heavy team. Do the math.

2nd or 3rd in the SLC is an insult to this team. SLC is ranked near bottom of all conferences.

Heading??? Already there. Nobody in SLC play will be able to stop a starting line-up of Dawkins Hopkins Hall Sanders Davis off the bench Todd, Nabors, 6'10" Custer, N'wevo...These players would be starters on any other SLC team. This team would be 2nd or 3rd in Conference USA.

Actually LU got screwed in the seeding. LU is ranked 3rd in the nation. However it really doesn't matter. All I hope is the guys come out with the same fire they had when they destroyed the SLC. If so, so planning a national championship party.

We need another women's sports in addition to Soccer and Softball.I think it will be Women's Swimming.

Texas Tech is starting a Cotton Bowl type series with OSU. LU must do the same with another school.

This may be LU only shot at a D1 National Championship.

LU needs to hire a swimming coach and get a team together asap. LU could then apply for swimming only sport in CUSA. One foot out the door of the slc.
