  1. TD & WOS 98, WOS is a class organization. I know a lot people over there. I think what got everything going is the comment about how many points were scored and was 17 points more. Most everyone knows you can make a changed n the backfield and run lineman etc. Just the fact someone from WOS seemed to bragging. I know he was rubbing it in as joke, but people dont take it that way.

this has really blown up.  I made the first post about the extra 17 points......speaking very specifically about this one comment.  I thought it was a great win, just thought the rubbing in of the extra 17 points was unneccessary.  Every time I have played WOS, they have been nothing but professional and showed good sportsmanship.......even when they kicked our butt.  My comments were to one person, NOT to the entire program.  I also know from reading these post for a couple years, that TD is a standup guy.......TD, no offense to you!

I appreciate that. I get defensive and feel the need to defend our coaches when people start talking about running up the score. I understand your thoughts about the 17 points but that was a joke between two guys and maybe should have been made in a PM.

We have 2 main coaches and several other guys that contribute alot. Those guys allow me to "coach" with them. I'm a baseball guy, not football. If I could choose my boys coaches I would keep them with these guys through Jr high. They are good coaches and better motivators. Not only that there isn't a day goes by that the boys aren't talked to and taught about more than football. Therefore, you can see why I put my guard up and tend to defend these guys. The people that don't know them tend to misunderstand them. We have 3 QB's and 3 sets of running backs and every one of them knows the plays and they all play hard. It's hard not to score when the kids are coached as ours are. How do you tell a 3rd string backfield to lay down and not get his work in? We never know when we may need them.

I'm going to try to be done with this. No promises though.  ;D

Good post TD.......your right, my only issue was with the 17 point thing......but it's over.

Now looks like your only concern will be Lumberton White in the SuperBowl   ;D   ;D   ;D

No one is gauranteed a superbowl berth. There is still alot of football left to be played this season before the playoffs. Upsets happen at all levels in sports. Do not forget about Nederland White. They seem to have a good thing going on over there too. This week we have PNG Purple. That is all we are thinking about. So Tragichippy, no one expected Lumberton White to make the Superbowl last year. It happened by hitting our stride at the right time. Do we all have another surprise in store for us this year? PNG White was talking about the Superbowl last year and didn't make it out of the first round. Lets slow our roll a little bit on Superbowl talk and take it one week at a time.

  2. I second that  tragichippy !!!!!   I know our coaches have pulld our team back once they hit the 28 point diff,,,,,  I've heard him tell them that they are gona easy up !!!!  I dont think a team earns any respect by running up the score !! Maybe they are going for intimidation!!!      AND NO IM NOT TRYING TO STIR THE POT ,, CONGRATS ON THE WIN ,,,  I just think thats alittle much !!!!

Just a question here, but how do you make a team "ease up" or better yet, how do you define that? Do you kneel the ball on every offensive play? Do you tell your RB's or QB that, if they see open field, fall down? Being someone who has coached a little, I'm just wondering because there are times that you sub out kids who have never even carried the ball in a game and they even score. Sometimes, it can't be helped. I think it's a bit ridiculous to automatically throw out the "running up the score" card. Sometimes, you just have so much more talent or speed that you either score or risk further embarassment for your opponent by kneeling the ball on first, second or third downs. This happens a lot in the youth leagues where that can be a huge difference in a teams abilities.

I'm not trying to stir the pot either, and I also don't have a child in this league, but I do read these pages all of the time and I think some folks are way to quick to throw out that a team "ran up the score".

    juniors

    ned gold 21

    wos white 0

    :)

Just for that i'm make sure i put 40 on u today sportsnut72.

The  "running up the score" card was played by WOS98 before the game started. He then mentioned the 57 - 0 victory claiming he was off by 17 points. You may have missed that in these post.  My only comment was he should have let the score speak for itself. Did he really need to call it out?? But, like I said earlier, it's a free country and people can act like they want.

I just posted the score. If u call that running up the score then thats u. If a team beats us by 40 or more me and my coach's gone wonder what we wrong with our game plan. If u had a chance to put 40 on Wos Jr. White u will. Like i said, we put kids in that never score a td in little league. So that tells u something (we work hard at what we do and take PROUD in it).

Your missing the whole point(and you didnt just post the score, you talked smack), but I have no issue in you beating a team by 100 points if you follow the rules. It's obvious you don't get it.  I guess I'm not explaining myself clearly enough, but don't know how else to say it. So, for the sake of "GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP"..........GOOD GAME WOS!

Ok why speak on it. Until someone beat us i will have a lot to talk about. Remember we are the under dogs chasing Lumberton jr. White.

WOS98, congrats on your victory today. Your team has the highest scoring offense in the league. The best defense in the league. As I see it, ya'll are the front runners and the rest of the league is hoping to just keep the scores respectable whenever they play ya'll. Keep up the good work!! :) :) :) :)

  3. if there are 2 wild card spots then ned. jr. white has a chance.their offense is not consistant enuff to beat lum. white or wos blue. the field position the ned. white off. gives the other team is amazing,i saw 4 times last week the def. was defending in the red zone cuz off. miscues & not punting.they held on 3 of the 4, purple scored at the end from the 1 yd. line with like 6 seconds left. now the lum. jr. white off. put on a show sat.  they are a lock to be in the super bowl. 38- 6 over wos blue very impressive. the L- TRAIN IS COMING, JUMP ON BOARD OR GET OFF THE TRACKS!

I really don't believe there are any locks to be in the super bowl! These are still 9 and 10 year olds and you don't know what you are getting each and every week out of them. Thanks for the kind words about Lum Jr White but we still have a tough schedule ahead of us. After all, we are all still chasing WOS Jr White. They don't even have to play their starting backfield and can still blow anyone out.

  4. Questions about JR division:

    PNG Grey vs Orangefield

    Lumberton White vs Bridge City

Anyone have scores from these two games??

    Lumberton White 36

    BC 0

WOS98, I know you didn't doubt us? It should be a good game next week. I look forward to seeing ya'll again next week. Every week is one week closer to the inevitable meeting. What ya say?

    Raider44 i see you'll took care of business today. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D. Next week u have a big game against WOS JR.Blue at your house.

  5. lumberton white is the best team in jr. they will win the super bowl.i heard ned. white got beat in 2 scrimmages vs. ned. gold, that so called good def. got ran over! bmt. blue romps in the dog house sat. and who have the wos teams played to be spouting off about beating a merger of all the teams?just like you guys in orange thought the state titles would be routine once yall went to 3-a,not so easy in the playoffs is it?

Last year WOS Jr. White beat Lumberton Jr. White with out there best player. He went down on defense making a tackle in the First Quarter and the score was 0-0. The score was 12 -0 until the last minute of the game. When the buzzer sounded the final score was 12-6.  So Bullett1 i have no problem with your opinion about Lumberton White being the best Jr. Team. Raider 44 knows alot about WOS Jr. White and I know alot about the Lumberton Jr. White. It will b a hard fought game but WOS Jr. White wins the SUPER BOWL.

                                                                       ONE TEAM

                                                                       ONE FAMILY

                                                                       ONE MISSION

well first of all i could see neither of you teams wiining it all.im not the head coach but i am a coach for nederland.i am not goin 2 tell you which team.i done seen both f yal play and bth of yal practice.and MANNNN.that other west orange team wos blue look good . they have incredible backs.im guessing that they have the same superbowl peopole from pee-wee.lumberton they know how to stop that stupid offense and wos white yal are good bt not good enough.last year their pee-wee team had a #4 and #9 that tore it up in the superbowl.#4 is a all around football player . he can play any  position.lumberton you better be awake when they come to your town.if i waz them i would run it power all up your team :D :D

If you are indeed from Nederland, and you are who I think you are, you're from Nederland Jr White. First of all, you kinda sound like a kid who is struggling with his math homework, or you're trying to put a difficult puzzle together. You hit a sticking point where you can't figure it out. Next words out of your mouth is this math is Stupid, or this is a stupid puzzle. Whenever something has you whooped, or let's say you lose at a game, all of a sudden that game becomes a Stupid game. For example, tell me you're teams record against Lumberton White Pee Wee last year!!! Both games were STUPID weren't they because you lost. Tell me Nederland's overall record against Lumberton last year in Pee Wee and Junior. Them  STUPID teams had you and your kids whooped! Second, quit living in the past because you are no longer in Pee Wee. The sooner you realize that, the better off you'll be. I look forward to week seven now. Just think, in one of my earlier post on this topic I was giving ya'll some props for having a decent team. Oh, and if I am wrong and its not someone from Nederland and just some bum stirring the pot, I will appolgize in advance for whats already in the works for week 7. I CAN"T STOP THAT RUNAWAY L-TRAIN ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

WOS98, just finished watching the video from our scrimmage last year in Vidor after the hurricane. Halftime score was 6-6. Ya'll broke off two quick scores to make it 18-6 in the third. We scored again with 4 minutes left in the 4th, recovered an onside kick and was driving as the clock expired. Final score 18-12. That was our turning point for the season. Once our boys realized that they could hang with the premier program in our league, their confidence was drastically boosted and they realized their potential if they played as a team. We have a much tougher road ahead than ya'll do. We must go through 3 very tough teams in WOS Blue, Lumberton Red, and Ned White. All teams that we have alot of respect for. Once ya'll play PNG white, your on the downside of your season until the playoffs. (Only my opinion) It's hard to say at this point who the best team in Jr division is. Last year everyone thought PNG Jr white was undefeated and the team to beat. They were one and done. Were not gonna get caught up in that trap. Right now our eyes are all on BC. One thing for sure though, our boys are not intimidated by anyone!

Raider44 we have much respect for you'll but we went into the season taking no prisoners. We be working our tails off on every aspect of the game. Last year our offensive line was alittle weak at this point into the season they are very very strong and that's why i think we will win the SUPER BOWL. We have all the skill players to add to the offensive line that creates a SUPER BOWL CHAMP. :-X :-X :-X. Everybody knows how the defensive line create havoc and how we fly to the ball. Then to add the hard hitters really creates a problem. ;D ;D ;D ;D  Raider44 you know who this is when will the helmet be in? That's why i ask u at Ford Park what is the rule for the offensive line and u told me 3 seconds. ??? ??? ??? :-X :-X :-X :-X

One week, one game at a time. We're not thinking that far ahead.  ;) Helmet should be in this week. I,ll hit Stang92 when it does. :) The rule for any offensive line is time! ;D See ya'll Saturday @ PNG.  8) :)

  8. most of the flag & older kids would have been outside playing anyway on sat. except the kids who have over protective parents that baby them, make excuses for them when they lose or do bad, want special rules so their kids have a chance to compete with the kids who practice & work hard to be good, & give all the kids trophies at the end of the season.football is a tough sport at any level,if you dont like it dont play.

You hit the nail on the head kf'89. Enough said!!

  9. I hate to hear scores like that in little league sports.  It is a difficult situation for everyone involved, but I feel bad for the Young Indians.  And as to the heat, it is WAY too hot out there.  But very few leagues can afford to have games at night with the lighting and electricity that is neccesary.  I hope it cools down soon, but next weekend looks just as hot as this weekend.

We didn't want the score to be like that either and you're right it is difficult for both sides. We put alot of different kids in and some that will never carry the ball again. I wish I knew how many different kids scored. We did not run up the score. Yes it was miserably hot out there.

I understand and hope that you understand that was exactly what I meant in my original post.  But from my experience on both ends of the stick, it is still better to be on the winning end.   ;D

Yes it is. I thought that's what you meant, I was just trying to squash something before someone started it.

Without a doubt...score wasnt ran up...purple kids wouldnt have tackled their lil sisters saturday...it was what it was and i'll be the first to say this...WO- White is prob the best team Ive seen at this level period. Good luck to you guys still having to face them...im glad to have it behind us on week one...maybe now I can get the kids to actually show up and play ..hahaha 9-10 year olds...like dr. jeckle and mr hyde. ya just never know.

I just want to say that at the Junior and Senior levels I think 10 min quarters are perfect. I also understand that as the kids get fatigued they are more likely to become injured. That is why as a coach it is our responsibility to condition our kids to play 40 minutes of football. Every team that played this weekend played under the same conditions. Are ya'll forgetting that we live in SOUTHEAST TEXAS. It is humid and hot. I don't see WOS white, Lumberton white, Lumberton red, Nederland white, Bridge City, or WOS blue complaining about the heat. When our kids get to school ball how are they going to handle 2 a days if they are sheltered now. Alot of our kids play select baseball during the spring and summer and have to play 3-5 games back to back on sundays. No one complains. Its part of the environment we choose to put our kids in to make them better students, athletes and adults. Stop whinning or play a different sport. What are we teaching our kids if as coaches we choose to quit a competitive football game because we are losing to badly or because its too hot? Prepare your kids and hope for the best (win or lose). This is what's wrong with our country today. Everyone wants to complain about how they got screwed instead of putting in the hard work it takes to become better. Maybe you should just email your congressman and ask for a goverment bailout!!

As for New Indian, its about like you to wanna talk after the fact about me and the rest of my coaching staff and what we were supposedly saying on our sidelines. As you know, the PNG sidelines have no boundaries between the coaches and the parents. If anyone was cursing are saying anything negatively our parents would be pretty upset because they were right on top of us. We would have heard about it already from them. So my advice to you is to shut up, take your but whoopin, and tell DL how you feel that your son's team didn't practice enough last week. Tell DL how many broken assignments and blocks ya'll had. I'm pretty sure he would love to hear that from you. Maybe you could even help him out instead of working the chains.

  10. I would watch it Indian. Remember it was post about how much pain our boys were going to be in last year after our playoff game that got ya'll sent to the house to watch the remainder of the STJFL season. I hope you learned the feeling of true pain. Going undefeated and having nothing to show for it. Football is a game of intensity, so keep fueling the fire. That makes me agree with stangs92, i too believe you are a 10 play man!!!
