Ok. If we win, I want you to be the first on here to give props...First thing in the morning, matter of fact...Friendswood 49
BMT Central 21
Close early and but the Jags are overconfident and that is not just what the Houston media said but those dudes in your backyard. After reading the posts on all these boards you Jag fans are in for a serious wake up call. I think your coach will be too. The teams that the enterprise references to tems that gave an idea of what they will face tonight is laughable. Nothing in the golden triangle has prepared you guys for what you will be witness to tonight. Sorry. I am not a name caller and will not disrespect you guys. You are here for a reason. But man, BCJAG come on "whipped Friendswood"? Rollinac, mediocre run game? Have you seen one game the Mustangs have played or are you going by stats. Whatever helps you guys sleep at night to help you feel like you have a chance.
If central wins, I'll be on here tonight congradulating y'all on the fluke
If my memory servers me - seems I remember that the last time Friendswood lined up against a team from the Golden Triangle was in 2000 and they took pretty good woopin 37 to 10 from West Orange Stark on of the smallest 4A teams in the state.

Good luck to all the southeast Texas teams this weekend. I'll be in Lufkin pulling for WOS and then for K-Ville. Let's do it southeast Texas. Come out and see some great football.

WOS 3A
K-Ville 2A Div I
Newton 2A Div II

Best of luck to the Jag's - Bring that State Championship back to Beaumont.

Lets do it Southeast Texas !!!!!!!!!!

Should be a great game, I'll be there for WOS / Gilmer and definitely stay and watch this one. K-Ville always has athletes, I would have like to have seen K-Ville and WOS line it up this year but good old IKE did us in on that one - Go southeast Texas lets bring home 2 state championships.
K-Ville should take this one if they don't let the pigskin loose.

If WOS comes ready to play they can beat just about anyone including most 4A teams in the state, well coached speed will beat size everytime in high school football.
The key's will be;
1) Play 48 minute's of Mustang Football.
2)offensive play calling, most of the playoff loses for WOS were because the coaching staff let the kids down and not vice versa. ( Giddings and Waco LaVega - prime examples)
3) The offensive Line will have to have a great game.
4) If #3 happens Q.G.will kill them.
5)We have to control the clock - keep their offense off the field - if the ChainGang is rested they can't be beat.
6) when we throw - don't always go for the long ball, if we can throw slants over the middle (6-8 yards) it will pull their linebackers off the line and enable the running game to explode. We could have killed LaVega with that. We have to many talented receivers to cover, we only have 1 running back.
If WOS is ready to play It'll be WOS 28 - Gilmer 14, if not it could get ugly in a hurry.
Should HS Football Have Instant Replay?

Like BD04 , It would be nice to have this in Playoff Games , most of the time once you get to regional games there are stadiums that have the equipment. And this is typically where you start getting close games that could be decided by a bad call. I've sure seen some bad calls this year as well as no-calls , which even replay would not help you with. I also agree with one of the other bloggers that at this level mistakes are part of the game - I would have added , players mistakes , not referee's mistakes.
