I hear ya. Actually though, it could be an advantage to OF with HJ having a new coach, it could give the OF coaches a chance to see what kind of schemes Coach Davis runs. I don't know, but I would think not much will change from the previous years. I think the coaches know what the other will try to do. Should be another fun year.

Hey hjhawk, I see both HJ and OF may meet up before district considering they are both in the Nederland and Livingston tournaments. Do you like the idea of playing your district rival before district?

Hey guys, I wanted to get your input on the poll we do for Girls Basketball. In the past we have had just one poll that included all classifications. Would you like to continue to see just one poll or would you like to see it broken out like our football poll? Ex. 5A/4A in one poll and 3A and under including private schools in another poll. Your thoughts?

Hey setxgal, it was nice meeting you at the Tarkington game. I always have extra tickets for home games, so you and that reporter guy can sit with us whenever. Now if he wears that shirt again I may make him pay for his seat or go to the pressbox.

True, it was not so much missed calls, but the officials losing track of who had the ball and blowing plays dead. Although, that did not win or lose the game. Orangefield's defense has to get better. If you like offense, then this was the game to see. Congrats to Newton on the win. That was a fun one to watch.

Very true Champion. Orangefield fans have rallied around this. I've have gone to Orangefield games for 30 years and I don't ever remember a bigger crowd at our stadium than what I witnessed last night. We had overflow crowd sitting on the visitors side. Never seen that before. I think we will bring a big crowd to Newton Friday.

To me the most exciting part of the game was the 45 yard field goal by Derrick Evans! I think you mean when they announced Homecoming Queen was the most exciting ;D You are so right Bobcat, that was the best part of the game. Tell Amiee congrats, she deserved it!

I'm not sure what the rest of the district has, but Deweyville will surprise a LOT of people this year. I had the chance to see them a couple of times a few months ago in a summer league and they are much improved. D'ville played way more aggressively than they have in the past and I'm assuming the new coach has instilled that. The guards were pretty good, but the most impressive play came from a big post player that I understand is young. (Sophomore, I think) Sorry, I have no name...I'm sure someone from D'ville can reply with this young ladies name. The only thing I didn't see is if this team can run. They played defense almost exclusively in a 2-3 which is almost unheard of in summer league ball. Good luck to Deweyville. I think Buna will be fine this year, they have a new coach whose young and gonna get them going this upcoming season Who is the coach at Buna?

Could not agree more Aggies. He already has made a big difference. He has the kids believing they can win every game. This has not been the case in OF the last few years. You've seen it when we played Silsbee. We were beat before the game even started.

We will have a preseason poll up when the season gets closer.

Same can be said for Orangefield!

I was hoping that we would have the new offense down by district but we appear to have gotten it down from the get go. In 3 games we have scored 16 touchdowns and 110 points! Our defense still needs a little work but overall I love where we are at. Yeah I think we scored a total of 89 points all of last season. We've already scored more than that in 2 1/2 games. I love the offense. I would like to see that 68 yard TD run by Derrick Evans against Liberty. All of Liberty's defense was going one way and by the time they figured out who had the ball, Derrick was 20 yards past them.

OF cannot be overconfident going into this game and I don't think Coach Huck will let them be. Homecoming is always a distraction as well. If we play the way we have the past couple of games, we will be ok.
