Let's not start counting any chickens yet. Every game will be a struggle for Lee until Jeremy Moses gets back. Racinjason can attest to the fact that Lee can't exactly throw the ball around the joint with the backup qb. They are forced to run, which they are much better at this year, but still not that great. They are forced to throw 2 or 3 specific types of passes that can be defensed with good speed in the secondary.
It will be no walk in the park. If Moses is back, I think Lee can put up 35-40 on anyone in the district. I'm not so sure how well Lee can stop PAM either. Kingwood never stopped them. PAM just turned the ball over. Would be Lee's luck that PAM plays a flawless game.
-
Can't be fumbling around like that PAM. Gotta take advantage of the fact that Kingwood's defense stinks.
-
Newcost took one in. It was mainly passing and some scrambling to get down the field.
Is anyone else listening to tsrn?
This color analyst has only spoken twice through the first quarter lol
I cringe when he starts to speak. The play by play guy is good enough, just let him do it.
-
I just don't think PAM is disciplined enough to win this one. I'll take Kingwood 34-20
-
Kingwood is no pushover. That offense of theirs is tough to stop.
-
Sounds about right.

Yall need to get a better score updater lol
It was 27-7 WB at the half. WB had HUGE plays throughout the first half. Three plays of 60 yards or more I believe.
First drive of the third quarter, Lee threw an int and WB returned it to the Lee 5 yard line. They were about to go up34-7, but WB fumbled and Lee took it back for a td. From that point on, It was pretty nip and tuck. Lee didn't pass the ball much. At one point in the first half, Lee put in a wide receiver and just ran the ball on some option. The entire second half, Lee just ran the ball up the gut 95% of the time. Somehow it actually worked. Don't ask me how.
Lee closed the deficit to 33-28 with 7 or 8 minutes to go. WB came back and converted on about a 3rd and 17. Then they converted 4th and goal from the 1 yard line with Billy Chavis providing the Reggie Bush push to get Chaisson over the goalline.
WB stopped Lee on downs, then inexplicably with 1:30 to go and Lee having one timeout, WB was running the ball. They fumbled and Lee got it back, but they had to throw at that point, which isn't one of our strong suits with Moses out. That would have been the bonehead mistake of the millenium if Lee got back and won the game after that fumble. No reason to risk it up 40-28 at the time.
WB has some good running backs. All 3 of them are good. The quarterback is pretty solid and makes good throws. Chavis is probably the best collegiate prospect they have. I was impressed with their team. They should do well in the playoffs if they can limit the mistakes.
Lee will be very tough once Moses gets back. They were running at will in the second half without any threat of a passing game. Here's hoping he's back for the PAM game or I think we could be in trouble.

I give BH credit for even trying to take on an Aldine, mannn
Aldine aint what they used to be, but still tough for a very small 4A team, barely removed fromn being 3A, to go play the Aldine 10th graders

Baytown Lee freshman white beat WB..I think 22-0, maybe 24-0, somwehere in there
Baytown Lee maroon team game against West Brook just got called at the half for lightning. Lee was up 28-6 at the time.

What if a district did the point spread for baseball. Let's say you goto extra innings tied, bottom of the 10th, one out, bases loaded, you get a walk to drive in the winning run...
But wait...you want your other two outs still so you can tack on more runs to help you in your tiebreaker later on...
That's what this football rule seems like to me. Just like in baseball in extra innings, once you score in overtime and the other team didn't score, game's over man. Shouldn't be any opportunity to add more points when the game is over.
I don't know which scenario is more absurd, a team continuing to bat in the bottom of the 10th when they are already leading the game, or a team going for 2 in overtime when the game is already over.
-
Looks like no Jeremy Moses for Lee :-(
I just wonder how much longer Coach Olin can keep up the smoke and mirrors with the backup before people start shutting Lee down. It seemed to be starting to happen in the Sterling game when Lee threw 2 int's and limited passing yards.
-
Ok, nice breakdown shorttexas1...
I knew Williams was tough. He's so big and pretty mobile. He's not the best passer, but he can get it out there if the guy is open. He is just a tough guy to deal with on the high school level, you're right.
I've never seen Chaisson play, so I'm pretty excited about seeing what he's about this week. I just hate facing those really fast qb's. You think you have them stopped on 3rd and 9 and no receivers open and pressure closing in, then bam he breaks a tackle and squirms out for 12 yards then ducks out of bounds. Williams did that constantly against Lee.
-
Baytown Lee's jv is pretty decent I think. They are 3-2 the best I can remember. Lee rarely has anyone on JV though that will ever do much on varsity. Any good underclassmen are already on varsity. The freshman team is the place to look for Lee's future. Lee's freshman A is 4-1, and they have quite a few good athletes that should be contributors, some as early as next year.
-
Thanks for the feedback. Lee had a lot of trouble with Williams, but we did pretty well against Jason Tanner from Sterling. Tanner is pretty quick, but can't pass too well and is obviously not in the class of Williams or Chaisson.
-
Which one is the more likely to beat you with his legs? I've seen how tough Williams is to deal with when he's running the ball. Would someone that has seen them both say Chaisson is just as tough?
-
Well, I've seen Williams from Central, just wanted to know how he compares to the guy from WB.
-
So, Lee is playing West Brook this week. Anyone seen both Brandon Williams and the guy from West Brook(sorry can't spell his name)? How do they stack up against each other?
-
Central beat the fire out of Lee. There's no denying that. It should have been much worse than the score indicated. Lee did lose their qb early in the first quarter though, so that didn't help. It also didn't help that there was a torrential downpour 15 minutes before gametime and the field was soaked. It hurt Central too though. They fumbled a few. Lee snapped a few over the qb's head and lost about 60 yards that way. It was just a sloppy game, but no doubt Central kicked Lee's butt.
Having said all that, Lee is much better than they were that week. Lee is notoriously slow starting. Go back and look at their records year by year. Three of the four years Drew Tate started they were probably 1-4 or 0-5 to start the year. They always got to the playoffs though and always got to at lest the second round. It takes a little longer to get a precision passing game cranked up than it does to start pounding people with the run the first week of the season. Just look at Texas Tech for further proof. There have been many years where they start off playing poorly against bad teams, only to come back and beat a California in the Holiday Bowl at the end of the season.
Still, my remarks were because of the other remarks that seemed to think it was far-fetched for Lee to win this one. It's an even matchup as it stands now. It could go either way. Don't be fooled into thinking WB overmatches Lee though. I know Westfield. Lee played Westfield the last two years. My point was that West Brook isn't an elite team like Westfield. That's all I was trying to say. I don't think WB sucks by any stretch, but it's not like it's Southlake Carroll or something rolling into Baytown this Friday. It's a beatable team. Lee also beat the fool out of Kingwood, so that doesn't impress me much.
-
How you can say the coaching is not good is beyond me. As has been pointed out, Barbers Hill certainly doesn't overwhelm you with athletes. If you matched them up man for man, Crosby would have a large advantage in athleticism. Barbers Hill plays a tight, strict gameplan that gets W's. They execute and don't makje mistakes and are methodical, and it works.

Thanks BH. I still don't get how BH is considered a part of the SE on this site, but Baytown is only talked about if they play West Brook or PAM lol
It doesn't upset me or anything, just wondering what BH did to get the royal treatment. Where I live, my cable internet company considers me to be in Mont Belvieu, but I can throw a baseball and hit Stallworth stadium nearly from my back porch.
-
We'll see who is kidding whom this Friday. There's no denying that Lee has looked just as good as, if not better than, West Brook has over the last 3 games.
I guess I must have misread that whomping that Westfield laid on the Bruins. It's not like West Brook is a juggernaut this year.
-
I got Lee here of course...then again I had Lee in every game in 1992 when they finished 0-10, so you know...
I just hope we get Moses back for this game, but I doubt it.
I'm gonna say Lee 34 WB 24
-
I don't see this score posted as of yet. Lee took it to them in front of 12,000 last night at Stallworth. Can't wait for Moses to get back, and we might be able to really do something.

I would like to see Dayton and BH!!! We are onl 15 miles down the road and haven't played each other in probally 15 years!!!
Others would be
LaMarque
Nederland
PNG
Baytown Lee
I bet you get Baytown Lee in 2 years once the new high school is in place.
As for Baytown Lee, we always play the teams from the southern part of Houston in non-district, I'd like to play some of the western or northern teams. Maybe a Cy-Fair, SB Memorial and Klein Forest.

Well......word going around is....
I dont think you will see Jeremy Moses back this week. You might not see Kevin Craft this week either. He hurt an ankle in last week's game. He's Lee's leading receiver. Okayl Maxwell is a lot better replacement than Lee would have in most years though.
