This week should be a rest week{playoff tuneup} for Dayton against Kingwood Park who has no dist.wins and has been blown out by everybody else in dist.The Broncos resv.players should get extra play time and coaches will be seeing Dayton's next opponent this coming week.Livingston had a pretty good team last year and you know the story there.The 19 4A {weak}district some say will win alot of postseason games as too much speed as you will soon find out.Four good teams,3 just could not contain Dayton.This team may be their best ever in 14 straight playoff years under coach Stewart incl.9 dist.championships.Cody Green's stats @ QB over 1,800 pass-20 Tds-3 int.---rushed for 750+ w/20 tds.=over 2,500 + yards and 40 tds.Now there's A.J.Dugat and he has put up impressive numbers again this year.Remember Dayton last year without Cody the last 11 games counting playoffs.The Broncos will surpass all offense records at Dayton as they have 3,445 total yds.with 1-7 Kingwood Park coming to Dayton this Fri.night.As for DEFENSE last 4 games gives up less than 2 touchdowns per outing,while allowing King's 999 yd.top RB to 23 carries=57 yds this past fri.night.And as early as 8 games ago some loyal Bronco fans worried the Defense would be hurt by the Coaches dismissing 5 returning defensive players from last years team for a school related altercation.Go Broncos,congradulations again for your 14th straight playoff berth's you've earned and not given a free pass.

King did that to Kingwood Park.I would play the resv.or a good Jv team to make a football game of it.

total domination here.King was stymied by the broncos and seemed to be out of sync on defense.They could not handle Dayton,nor slow down the high octane Broncos.I stayed till middle of the third Quarter and left as King was by far overmatched.King's best RB had 23 carries for 58 yds.Dayton's frehman RB had 1 carry untouched for 59 yds.This team may turnout to be Dayton's best.If I were Kingwood Park I would forfeit next weeks embarrasment at Dayton.

it is about who is the best towards the end of the regular season.Cronicle has friendswood still at #1 after losing to angleton and beating Manvel by 1 in a comeback to win game and has struggled lately.Boils down to turnovers,penalities,returns,and who can put up points with each possession.Defenses can give up points if the offense can score more points.Look at UT longhorns for example.And yes WOS has beaten Dayton many times but this year the Broncos put one on them in a scrimmage.Was not even close.They also have probably one of the best coaches in texas also.I like WOS alot and will pull for them and their long playoff record is amazing {except against my former Dayton High}Good luck to all in the days ahead,play hard,safe,and GOD bless ya'll for 6.00 tickets to see some of the best football in S.E.TEXAS

Defense is steady improving but it seems even in the college ranks you can still be #1 and give up 4-5 touchdowns on defense and still win.It is about who can score the most points every time you get the ball.I looked up offensive total yards for Dayton 2,950 in 7 games,not counting punt/kickoff yards.In a comparison with the exception of Dave Campbell's magazine #1 ranked Kirbyville team who has equal numbers.The Broncos have between 700-900 more yards of offense than most all others in se texas.Looked up Houston area 4A teams and only Hou.Davis {2695 tot.yds} Angleton {2634 tot.yds} have similar stats to Dayton's.OthersTex.City{2181}Lamar Cons.[2152}Hstn.Westbury{2126}Friendswood{2074}El Campo[1949}Huntsville{1785} to name a few that have winning records and probably make playoff runs.The Dayton Broncos avg.41 points per game on offense and 16 points per game on Defense with the last 3 games 11.2 points per game.Quiet impressive in itself with super jv & jr.high talent and exc.coaching{13} straight playoff app. a REAL REASON to back them BRONCOS now or later.

let's not forget the new varsity players and what they have done being moved up after 5 def.players were dismissed from this years team for a altercation.The JV team also has been real good and Stewart a hawkeye for talent moved him to varsity status and he performed to the tune of 56 Yds.on 6 carries and he is a speedster also.Looks like Stewart's 13 year straight playoff years could be longer & weary for others.Dayton has been good for years but others had key players out of position.Had they had Stewart's guidance they may have already had a state championship.Rareley in my memories of 38 years has the Broncos had to come from behind to win a football game.I thought many a game strategy came right out of the local morning coffee spot downtown for years.Stewart would not have stood for that at all,even if it meant his job.Many a school would love to have a man with his credentials.

Dayton continues to improve every week and it is gelling as a unit to be dealt with.Just the thought of A.J Dugat touching the ball worries defenders so they dbl.and triple up on him and leave others wide open.Dayton has a strike quick-shock attack game after game.Last year the defense was better overall but every week the Broncos show improvement.The Broncos are loaded with speed again-too much for King.My pick Broncos by a lot-4 tds.

The golden triangle wanted Dayton out of 20 4a,as the broncos both years took the top spot.Well you got your wish-Buttttttttttt playoffs still come thru Dayton,who still has the very best coaching staff & 10 yrs.playoffs to back it up.In 10 years rarely have the broncos had to come from behind to win and when they did lose it was a case of their own miscues(turnovers}that was the culprit.Just like last years early loss-this years early loss to ranked Friendswood was the same senario.Showing improvement every week the Broncos again prove they are headed for possible second chance @ Austin Lake Travis.After all it boils down to what teams peak out toward the end of the season and early game losses do not have very much clout except for rankings which do not mean anything in HS football as their is no number 1-20 school rankings like college.The Broncos younger JV team was undefeated until a few weeks ago their RB a speedster moved up to varsity and had 56 yds.in 6 carries in his debut,so Dayton's future looks strong again as the tradition continues.Proven coaching records of Dayton,West Orange,Newton,and a few others continue to set the standard year after year.
