I totally agree after what went on last year in the LaMarque/Lumberton game.No cause for unsportsman type conduct of that nature.

This shootout in the triangle at the bulldogs home field should be a great back-n-forth pigskin classic.Gotta believe the DOGS pull this one out.The defense rises to the rescue and Nederland wins 28-27 in a thriller.Then the train gets to prove losing 30 seniors you can beat Dayton in round 1.A much improved Bronco team from a year ago.Look for the Broncos after tonights rout to have amassed over 4,000 yds.You say how can that happen?They will need 607 yds tonight to add to 3,393 already in the books.

Every now and then the Defense wins games by mistakes,turnovers,& poor field position.Then penalities factor in and if you can capitalize on all the others teams miscues the underdog can upset the opponent.Fan support can get a team pumped so support your team and BELIEVE.

That is what I said,a few were moved up to varsity.The 9th grader had 120 yds.in 2 games for the Broncos on a total of 5 carries.He is a delite to watch and real fast.He should get lots of carries and yds.tonight against Kingwood Park.His last name is Delaspour(may be mispelled)for all who are interested.

If a team loses 30 seniors from a real good team in last years graduation,shows they still have some young talent,a great program,real good coaching but as far as the ring thing that is not going to happen this year.Sorry but if a team can't throw they are not gonna go to the big show.There are plenty of real good teams that will stuff the running game.Credit ya'll did beat Dayton last year early but who almost went all the way?Well this years Broncos are better,bigger,faster,smarter than last years team.Stats say on offense 3,393 tot.yds.w/45 tds.That is more than Lumberton/Livingston offense totals together.Defense pretty tough too allowing avg.of 11 points per game over the last 4- allowed a mere 15 points per game so far for the year.As for some of the threads about Lumberton beating Dayton 1 out of 2 games(Better check the history books about all the previous thumpings the Broncos put on Lumberton-I cannot remember but 1(8-7 loss) last year at Lumberton.When you get to where teams like WOS-PNG-NED-Newton-Kirbyville-Jasper-Westbrook-Dayton-LaMarque-BayCity-El Campo-Katy-Northshore & others to name a few then you can stand tall and say Hey We Are Good and people BELEIVE WHAT THEY HEAR.All those teams mentioned have earned their Smack talk for a bunch of years and still most of them are there nearly every year.Same senario in all team sports.Individual sports where it's you against the whole field-now that's real talent because you did it without nobody's help.

I think LaMarque lost their great coach after last year.They are starting over.As for friendswood they are good on offense that's a given but they have been in some close games with teams like Manvel as Friendswood stopped a 2 point attempt w/ 1 minute left in the game to eek out a 28-27 win only a few weeks ago.I am hoping to see a playoff game with Dayton & Friendswood duking it out on a neutral field as you can't judge a loss in the early part of the year.Look for both to be around in December.

Congradulations to all Bronco & future Broncos.I think the 9th grade & JV team were undefeated until some players were moved up to varsity level then their perspective teams lost close games.Coach Stewart must be all smiles as the talent pool is deep and younger pee wee football players look to be part of a winning program @ DAYTON.Purple has power.

Lumberton was a better team last year.Anytime a team loses 30 seniors they will have alot of young players to fill spots vacated by graduation.They have a good young team this year but experience in big pressure games will be the X factor.Just be realistic,if you don't throw the ball with zip & accuracy the playoff road will be short.

Livingston was big & quick last year but could not move the ball much on the Broncos in the playoffs.They did have a few trick plays that they were able to get good yards from.If you can't pass much, the defensive line will stop the run as they did last week at C.E.King and their speedy 1,000 yd.rusher was held to 57 yds.on 23 carries.Dayton is healthy and very fast to close the gaps as you shall see if you get matched up.This team has the potential to win it all this year.Saw every game last year & this year and the talent pool is deep.Alternates have performed well in their roles.Dayton put up over 40 points against the 19 4a playoff teams this year and younger players have gotten key playing time in the second half.If a 19-4a school loses in round 1 it will be Crosby the weekest link in this bunch in my observation.Dayton-King-N Forest win round 1.

Two good teams gonna duke it out.I always give an edge to the home team on their turf.Next I would give Nederland the edge with a QB that has been good for awhile and experience gets a edge.I like teams that are not scared to throw and loosen the defense.Will be a great football game to watch,turnovers will factor in here.I pick it Nederland 28-Lumberton 27 in a thriller.Lumberton has been good but can the young qb rise to a differant level?

I was thinking Crosby plays CE KING this week in a game for pride as 19-4a playoff teams are set.

From a Dayton fan,loosenup some on offense,throw on first downs,smashmouth football and ball control can bog down the game as Dayton did for years until coach Stewart changed directions and 14 years straight playoff years have followed.My husband says hi to his coach in 1966-67 Riley Burnett and says he is a great coach.I do remember the Long brothers not so long ago & they were a great pass combo.I love your team spirit and fan support is the best.This year has been more than unusal as some folks were in very dangerous conditions from Ike.Give it some time most others have sooner or later a off season.Look at former powerhouse La Marque.Be patient you sure have alot going for you and some out of town supporters also.

Dayton does not care who they will play in round 1.They just play their game the same way-wide open& outscore the opponent.Does anybody know if Dayton has punted more than 4 times all year? Exactly,all Liberty Co.has to offer are great schools,good people,very little pollution,clean air,affordable land close proximity to larger cities without the traffic.We love to shop in the bmt/lumberton areas as we now live on 17 ac.just 400 yds.from hardin co.line and we have a post office & convience store and that's it.The store closes at 8 pm.Went to school @ Dayton,kids @ grandkids to.For years some folks kept new business out so theirs would prosper.But Dayton is really growing.Remembering the mid 60's when Humble had 1,600 folks a 2A school-now w/2 -5A & 2-4A. The huge growth soon is the Cleveland/Tarkington/New Caney area w/ trickle over effects for North Dayton W/new US Business Hiway 105 under way from just north of Tarkington-edge of Cleveland to 59-to 45-to 290 & beltway to I-10 at Katy in next 5 yrs. seeTX DOT offices as they have the plat.As for now we are still caught in the middle but like Barbers Hill-Huffman-Tarkington-Cleveland,Dayton will have their growth as large farms continue to decline.As for this weeks Bronco game it would not surprize me if Dayton gets over 607 tot.yds which would close out the reg.season w/4,000 yds. offense.There is a story for a sports reporter-you think.I am not going to predict a awful lg.score as its supposed to be football season not hoop ball.

Rated in top 100 recruits-missed 90% of last years games as a jr.-came back as senior/struggled against Friendswood to get his composure/timing back and since has proved why he is in top 35 Texas recruits- 3 weeks ago was Texas Ford,s 4A player of the week-passed for 1,855 yds,20 td passes,3 interceps--rushed for 723 yds,7.77 per carry w/17 rushing tds.quiding Dayton undefeated in Dist.19 4a.---AND NO PAPER BUT LIB.Co.& baytown sun carry it.D.Johnson/Nederland (army strong player of the week and DESERVING made papers for weeks last year. My point was to show unbiased coverage equally to all deserving schools/players and caught in the middle means exactly that.Years ago most of Liberty/Dayton residents shopped outside the county as we had no KMART/WALMART/ECKERTS etc.Liberty county folks spend still in the larger Golden Triangle/Houston/Baytown areas and buy their local papers here with all the sale flyers incl.Show a little unbiased love & support to a real good football team as the pics & articles for scrap books will be ending for most seniors, as few make it to college football.

Little small town on hiway 90 right in the middle between Beaumont and Houston who has now 14 straight playoff app.W/9 dist.titles and just like last year's great football team,again ignored for the most part from 2 out of 3 newspapers with the Baytown Sun showing some love every week.Ya'll know what I am talking about if you follow the Broncos.After all the local teams lose out then here comes the other 2 that sell papers daily in Dayton to get in on the action as they have no other schools in 4A to write about.Chron.com reporters said 2 weeks ago Dayton may be the best team playing right now,with no action on their part to write about them since.As for the other paper I have not nor will I ever buy another copy of their paper even to read an obituary column.If you are a real sports reporter you should spread the news unbiased even if your former high school just got stomped by 40 points and you write a column how they almost made a drastic comeback or something like that.Both years Dayton was in 20-4a who was at the top?Now folks say 19-4a is a weak dist.Time will tell but the real deal has to come thru Dayton again this year.We are gone from the past now but ALL THE TRAINS between Beaumont /Houston come thru DAYTON.Not intended for"L"train players,supporters,students,as congradulation again for another great year.Saw some of ya'll late last year at bronco games in the purple section against Waller pulling for the broncos.You have CLASS.

Differant day-differant Dayton this year.Last years qb rarely ran so Lake Travis Dbl./Tripled team Dugat and shut down the Broncos.Austin still has Gilbert the qb,but he had better recievers than this years team.Hope to see a rematch this year as Dayton is much faster this time and loaded with speedy talent.Gilbert will have plenty of purple breathing down his neck this time should destiny go in favor of the broncos second chance .

perfect,except the late third quarter double pump drop the football, driving to the King 30 yd.line stopping another purple td.outside of the miscue it could have been much worse.Dayton seems to have been getting better with each game and will be well rested for this playoff season w/ 1 win Kingwood Park @ Bronco stadium this coming week.Hope to see you all again this year for Purple Tailgate parties.
