I am a sucessful smaller school coach. I am looking for a fresh new start at a bit larger school. BOOM! Lumberton Raiders job opens up. Two other similiar jobs open up. I jump on the internet and start studying the mighty RedRaiders and looking deeply into their program. As I research them and the other two school i find out that the other two schools coaches were there long term. I see the Raiders school board does not like keeping coaches very long. I see that a very sucessful coach held the job before me but was cut in the midst of a rebuild were he had the school on the upward path. I now assume unless I take Lumberton and win next season I will be terminated within a year at the most two seasons. I also see Lumberton plays in a competitive district and it will be no cake walk to get back to were I need to be. Sorry Raiders fans but your school board just sent me a very good up and coming coach in the other direction. This is how I see a coach would feel about coming to Lumberton.

I knew back months ago they wasn't keeping Haynes as HC, surprised at the AD tag though, but I don't see him staying around. I wouldn't. 

Football parents happy. Players happy. Kids getting bigger, stronger, faster. Offensive numbers good. Defense a work in progress. Young team mostly sophs and Jrs this year. Returning a lot. Does this sound like a football decision? In mid March? When you run a football program and an athletic department your way, sometimes people get upset. Keep in mind lumberton is known for what? Girls soccer, girls basketball, and band. Why is that?

Mistake if that is the case. Just my opinion.

And from what I hear they won three games and have everybody back. Looks like they were moving in the right direction. No coach can win in Lumberton in just two years unless they drop to 4A. That's just silly.

So let me get this straight you go 1-29 fire your only coach in history to make the playoffs. Then you bring in a guy with over 150 wins after going 1-29 and you don't even let him have two full calender years on campus to turn around the worst program in setx unless you include Beaumont Legacy. Wow that makes no sense. The superintendent must be a coward to let his school board do something that irrational. You can't give the guy two full years on campus to turn around 1-29.

Hmmmmmm. ...HAYNES offensive put up big numbers this past year. ...

Stephen Yarbro got Honorable Mention.  
Yarbro probably had twice as many Passing yards but Boyd was dangerous as a dual-threat.

Tim Rhodes got Honorable Mention.  He had a heck of a season.

SO proud of Sikes, Addison, Rains, Millican, Flores, Rhodes, Yarbro, Helms, Thomas, Johnson, Millican and Minton!!!

Great high school football game. Great game plan and they stuck with it. Best complete game from the Raiders this year. Props to the defense. They've been steadily improving all year.

Depends on if they can beat Lumberton.

They offered Devwah Whaley on Monday.

Friday night is Senior night and the last game of the season. Lets pack our side and show our boys that we support and love them. Friday they beat Vidor to keep Vidor from going to playoffs Lets help pull our boys to a win against Nederland and keep Nederland from winning yet another district championship!

Our boys are going to come out and fight for 4 Qtrs like they do every game.  We'll need to catch a few breaks and play a near flawless game to beat Nederland but crazier things have happened.  Good luck to both teams and I pray for an injury-free game.  Win or lose, I couldn't be more proud of these boys.

For some perspective, when Lumberton played Vidor last year, Vidor won 59-20 and rushed for over 500 yds.  This year, not only did the Raiders get the W, but the Raiders had more rushing yards than Vidor.  Congrats to the boys that have stuck together and fought in Lumberton.  There are some good underclassmen but it starts with great senior leadership.  Many of these seniors played their entire sophomore and junior seasons on varsity without winning a game.  It takes a tremendous amount of heart to do what they have done and help turn a program around.  We could all learn a lot from them.

It probably wouldn't have been a problem if it woulda rained since then. Why don't they give them a couple hoses and let them spray off the stands after school or something. I just feel bad for all the local babies that are suffering from damp bottoms since homecoming night around the area! ;-)

I doubt the announcer was malicious, maybe new or something. I didn't understand him telling the crowd to get loud every time Lumberton was lining up on offense to start a play. His announcing for sure didn't help either team in any way lol.

OF has a good team. They deserve a lot of credit for this win. I'm impressed with their toughness and scrappiness. They will do well this season. Congrats and good luck to the bobcats.

Lumberton shouldve won, too many mistakes and dropped balls on the money.. QB was great tonight!
Also I question the coaching decisions, if they kick the extra points instead they are in OT as we speak
