Not only did we win against a decent silsbee team we won against their refs too.
that's what I heard also......

I am not sure how far on the track you have to get tackled for it to be a penalty but a WOS player has his imprint on the track.  I guess he would have had to have been tackled in the concession stand to get a flag....of course it would it to be discussed at length.

I didn't know a defender wasn't allowed to make a play on the ball also. The pass interference call on wos was terrible he was CLEARLY turned looking to make a play on the ball. And what was up with the blocked field goal. First call it a touchdown then take it back. The rule is you can't advance a blocked kick if im not mistaken. Our player clearly caught the ball in the air off of a silsbee defender IN the endzone. No need to advance when you are already in the endzone. This list could go on and on. IMO the silsbee refs gave a better fight than the tigers.

Going to be a tough one for both teams. As much as I hate to say it, if the wos offense can't find a way to get things going and score some points the tigers will hand them their second district loss since coming into 21-3a. You can't expect your special teams to score all your points. At some point wos opponents will get smart and stop kicking it deep. When that happens where will the points come from?

Yes it is a point of concern no doubt about it.I know we have had injuries but I for one have not seen a great deal of improvement that you would expect to see eight games into the season. Our defense and special teams keeps us in the games so you never can count us out.

I agree. It actually seems like the offense has been going down hill since the nederland game. Everyone is either blind or in denial when they say our offense will be fine. I have heard this for weeks now and it still seems as though they are not improving. They only produced 19 yds in the first half against b.c. That doesnt seem fine to me.

If the stangs play at the pace they played during the 2nd half of the jasper game then 35-0 stangs....if they cant find a way to score in the redzone again 9-0 stangs on fgs. I just dont see the cats scoring on the wos D the way they have been playing.
When was the last time WOS shut Kirbyville out??? Ummmm never! Kirbyville is gonna move the ball trust me!
Im not basing my prediction on previous years. Ive seen the gameplay of both teams this year and I dont think the cats will score if the wos D shows up to play. And moving the ball and scoring is two very different things. Example being this past Wos Giddings game. We had over double the yards and first downs as the buffaloes but couldn't find a way to punch it in.
  5. First off, this was a HARD fought game by both teams. The first three quarters were pretty sloppy by both teams. Turnovers and penaltys are going to kill wos this year if they don't do a better job of playing more disciplined and holding onto the ball, especially when your inside your own 20 yard line. It seemed to me that there was no excitement from the wos players or coaches until the fourth quarter when the game became a nail biter. Our sideline is the quietest I have seen in a long time. I saw absolutely no coaches talking to any of the offensive players after a turnover until the start of the fourth quarter. No players motivating each other on the sidelines. Maybe it was just me but the first three quarters just seemed like nobody was really excited about playing tonight. You can't have that mentality if you expect to win games imo. Either way, was a very close game and both teams fought their hearts out. Good luck to FW. Wos will be fine. Lets take our 2 losses of the season early and learn from them!
  6. The officiating wasn't too great overall for both teams. There was one occasion where pass interference should have been called on wos. The other both the receiver and defender got tangled with each other and the refs made the right call. It was clearly accidental contact. As for the long pass from Nederland to the Wos 2 yard line, that was definately another missed call. After they showed the replay, the nederland receiver was CLEARLY 1 to 2 yards out of bounds and was on top of the wos defender, he never touched until he rolled over the defender 5 yards out of bounds. The 2 point conversion was close, it could have gone either way. Either way no excuses here and not taking anything away from the bulldogs. Both teams played a helluva game. A few different calls in the game and it could have ended differently but hey that's football. This game definitely benefited both teams tonight. Good luck to the dogs on the rest of yall's season yall should make some noise in 20-4a. As for the stangs we will be fine. The defense for the most part was the usual chain gang d. Silvers flying to the ball from every direction. The secondary could use a little bit of work but they should be fine as the season progresses. Offense still has a few kinks to work out but they looked more in sync from the previous scrimmages. Good game to both teams, and good luck to them too.

Being a fan of the winning team in the LCM/Lumberton game, I will say this to the Raiders...

Leave it behind you.  That game is over, you have a bunch of district games left.  This was one football game, and is not a predictor of the future.  It just gives you something to work on, and adjust to mistakes you may have made.  Old f@(ts on here probably haven't played the game in years, or even decades, so pay no attention to them...they have to vent the gas they generate, or else, they would explode.  Your coaches were there with you on the field, so they know what to do now.  Listen to them.

    To the Bears...

When you are on top...you are a target.  People get ready for you.  The other coaches see and study what you do.  SO what will you do?  Do it better.  Confronted with difficult game situations, identify, adjust, overcome.  Keep that wonderful feeling of community you felt on that special Friday night, and use it to honor your friend.  But don't expect anyone to cater to how you feel.  Don't rest on the past, conquer the future.

    WELL SAID!!!!!!

After watching these kids from LCM give Pearland Dawson all they could handle in a 7 on 7 tournment in Texas City this summer. All I can say is they are for real.
Ozen will have thier hands full containing these kids as well as everyone else in the district.

Being a Central fan I'm hoping our game against Livingston gives our kids in the secondary a little more experience to handle the passing game and the D line and linebacking core the oppurtunity to find that old Jaugar knock your "D" in the Dirt mentallity.

    Say what you want.
LCM is the real deal this year and they have waited a long time to get there. And finallly may have done a better job recruiting kids then Hooks has.
LCM by 14 over a banged up Ozen thanks to Central.
I really hate to throw this out there, but I say that more than half of the offense is from the Mauriceville area.  Too far out for WOS to recruit anyone, it would be a lot closer for Vidor though.   ;D
No they are from Little Cypress Mauriceville, it is crap like this that keeps us from being as successful as we should be.  We can't seem to come together as one, we always have to bring this Little Cypress or Mauriceville crap into it.  The are LC-M Bears get over it.
Trying to get rid of that LC vs Mauriceville is the reason the hyphen is gone.  It's just LCM now. ONE school.  ONE team.  ONE goal.

Ozen needs to get it together quick, with LCM coming to town Friday off a very impressive win over previously undefeated Lumberton. There is no room for mistakes in this contest,if Ozen plays the way they did against Central this one will be over by halftime. Q.B. Hunter Gonzales and the LCM Bears are the Real Deal. That's why they were my original pick to win District 20-4A.

Ozen needs to throw more on first down and stay out of 3rd and long situations, this is creating too many 3 downs and out. The QB and Receivers need to protect the football better. You simply can't make those mistakes and expect to win ball games. The running game needs immediate improvement and their defense needs to tackle better and be more consisitent overall against the run and pass. Too many tackles are being made down field by the DB'S. Their secondary also gave up too many big plays against Central.

If these things are corrected, then Ozen will find itself in contention for a playoff spot. If not, start preparing for next season. This is a MUST win for the Panthers !  Ozen -35 LCM -31
That's a WHOLE lot of improvement to be made in a week against an ever improving LCM team!  The only way Ozen wins this game is if LCM doesnt show.

LCM is averaging 45 ppg.  Although Ozen possesses some amazing speed, I'm going to say LCM 54 - 12.
Ozen held West Brook to 28 points.  No way in heck LC-M scores 54.  Reyes and Cunnigan is way better that Gonzalez and Sonnier, IMO..
Haha that is a silly thing to say, because Central just put up 41 against them.  And West Brook shot themselves in the foot that whole game.  That being said, I think last week's game was way closer than the score.  It should be a really good one.
Why is it silly?  Central came out of the bye week a better team.  That's why we blew Ozen out.  But those receivers and that Qb they have are scary...
Ask anyone from Lumberton.... LCM came out of THEIR bye week a MUCH BETTER TEAM.

    LCM by 21+
  12. No excuses for the loss tonight. Both teams played in the SAME mud and the SAME rain. Id have to say as a wos grad i cant ever remember seeing our offense this bad. Our defense plays great game in and game out and it seems like they are on the field for most of the game. Our offense just cant get anything going. Im tired of seeing the SAME few plays ran every game. Tobys gonna have to mix it up. IMO it all starts with the oline. WHERE IS THE BLOCKING??!!! It seems like every play there are 3-4 defensive players in the backfield as soon as the qb touches the ball. After this the qb either holds the ball too long and takes a sack or throws up a wounded duck into double coverage. Idk who the oline coach is this year but it sure looks like we are missing coach baysinger. And as for getting the ball to our play makers....IMO the only "playmaker" ive seen this year was our sophomore running back and wr mark roberts. I havent seen anything out of our so called"playmakers" that were supposed to be the key to winning state this year. Dropped passes are KILLING us. Maybe we need to go back to fundementals...catch THEN run.....
