I cant Believe it took this long
Your talking about a program that has not made the playoffs since what 1957? And you are worried about wins? Coach Fortune is a good man and football Coach. You have to have the talent and last I checked not much to work with.
I agree Coach Fortune is a great guy.

Well said...I played for a D-III school at UMHB, and we had some players!!
-
Either way I believe this will be a close game. Lack of depth and inexperience will definatley hurt Cleveland, but these kids can play........Dunks? I think every player dunks on that team...
-
i'm going with
Silsbee vs Jasper and cleveland vs Hudson
Silsbee vs Cleveland
I like those picks!
-
Probably. Has great speed and decent size. I see him playing at the SS position.
-
Great kid! Best of luck at the next level!!

I'll most likely get flamed for this post, but oh well... I'm not disputing the success that 21-3A has had, nor am I saying that the district is not a powerhouse at the top. It's just that some of us from outside the Golden Triangle get tired of some of the posters on this board who are more interested in running down everyone else for not being in 21 and who seem not to get the fact that there are other folks out there in the world who also play good basketball.
That just makes it all that much sweeter when someone from 22-3A does beat someone from 21-3A. Am I going to go on a big rant about how great 22-3A is just because Coldspring beat WO-S and Cleveland beat Silsbee earlier this year? No, of course not. The body of evidence over the past several seasons shows that 21 has pretty much dominated 22. But I am going to enjoy that at least for now, there's no thread on here about 21-3A sweeping 22-3A out of the playoffs. Could that still happen next week, with the possibility of Cleveland-HJ and Coldspring-Silsbee matchups? Sure it could.
Either way, congrats Coldspring on the big win last night. Liberty, you guys gave it your all last night, too. (There were some concerned looks on the faces of the Hawk Hecklers at halftime.)
Now let's see how much of a hornet's nest I've stirred up...
Kudos to you Ulrich

Clevleand is solid, undefeated in district play and I believe #8 in the state is where I saw them last. Watched Cleveland play and notice they only had 7 players on the team. No depth is gonna hurt them in the playoffs. Not one of the seven players are a Senior, though.

Pound for Pound...Roy Jones Jr.
-
No way ;D ;D ;D ;DShepherd will get the 3rd place spot in 22-3A. ;D
They're very much improved from last year and continue to get better every week. The new coach is doing a great job as far as i can tell, and has the entire community behind him. 8)
I agree...No way
-
I don't disagree that 21-3A has more competitive teams throughout the entire district, just trying to give Kudos to 22-3A for both games. Cleveland will be good year in year out, usually starting 5 sophs....A junior started against Silsbee cause of an injury...Scary
-
So wait -- are you telling me that District 22-3A beat District 21-3A...?!? :'(
And didn't Cleveland beat Silsbee a week or two ago.....?
But its 21-3A Ulrich!?! Lol.....Im in 22-3A, and believe Coldspring will be the runner up and DID beat OF, which they claim will be the 3rd place team to beat '22' runner up. I believe Cleveland and Coldspring will win their games, and still not sure 3rd will be....Between Huffman, Splendora, Liberty

Keith Jackson was GREAT for college football!!!
-
MaxPrep has this guy throwing for +4,300 yds with 61 tds and 8 ints...........Kirbyville gonna shut him down?
-
I have seen Cleveland many times this year and they look real good. Be honest, I have not heard much on Rockdale, but they seem impressive. Beating Caldwell and losing to Navasota only by 7 pts. Should be a good matchup. Good luck Indians!!!
-
ya but clevelands district isnt as hard as our district i bet weve could have gone 9-0 in their district. i bet wos and silsbee would have beat the crap out of them to like they did us but that dont matter both teams have gotten better and now that its the playoffs the records for both teams are 0-0 so it gonna be a good game and will be close most likely so good luck to both teams and GO HAWKS
You would of gone 9-0 ???? Did you forget HJ has already lost to Cleveland? And they would lose to Coldspring and oh Huffman, too.
-
Cleveland is the better team in any scenario. I believe Cleveland's achilles heal is there pass defense. Cleveland is fast and can run the ball, but strange things might happen when they face a passing qb and a good run defense....
Cleveland 35
HJ 7
-
Watching Cleveland live twice, I can say Cleveland is legit. Every td scored against Coldspring was a different back if I recall. Cleveland's D is gonna hit you in your mouth all game, leading the charge #26.
-
yea HJ will beat Cleveland this time. WOS-Coldspring almost ain't even fair, and Silsbee and Huffman...Iunno...Silsbee will just win cause they are better.
Your dead on about Coldspring and Huffman, but Cleveland will beat HJ even worst then the first time. They dismantled a good Coldspring team.
-
Kudos to Cleveland. What started as a good game became a blow-out. Cleveland showed me a lot of depth in the backfield, and basically wore-down the Trojans. The highly rated defense stepped up the second half. Definatley 2-3 rounds of playoff caliber team
-
1) Best of Times
2) Rudy
3) Gridiron Gang
-
Im going to give a slight edge to the Indians, mainly cause their defense is better. Both match up on offense, and points will be scored by both teams. Dont underestimate the Trojans, though. They will have seen that offense two weeks in a row.....
-
Coldspring has definately the edge on level of competition...Period.
-
Barbay is still there...Winner will get HJ and the loser will get WOS.
THOUGHT SO COOP... THANKS.. bad luck for the team that has to play WOS ,,,,,Coldsprings or Cleveland could give HJ a run for there money!!!!
yea cleveland already beat hj earlier this year.
That score 22-0? 26-0?
Tarkington promotes from within

That is not correct at all. Splendora's 2001 and 2002 teams blew pass Huffman.
