The only reason I asked is that Cleveland just has one 8th grade team. I was hoping they would have A and B teams, cause our district policy is to play every kid and thats hard with a tough team like Cleveland.

Coldspring will win Friday, and perhaps beat WOS. It will definately be a tough game for both teams.

Did you guys have some injuries or a lot of failures? I talked to Coach Tullos last month and told me there was 70 kids in the 8th grade program.

We shuffled things around to play Brabham Tuesday night, and thought we would get our teeth kicked in. Ended up 12-12, but proud of our boys against a talented, scary Brabham team. Your kids will be ready to explode about the time we play. It will be a good one.

Our B did not show up, but proud how are A played tonight. The game ended on a reverse call on a fumble recovery scored by Splendora. They said it was a TD, but called off with an in-inverted whistle. Go figure.

Its suppose to be nasty...Hey Cleveland, with so many kids in the program are you guys required to play all the kids in the game? I only ask cause our district requires us to play all the players.

Sportsmvp, the only input you might need is finding out how to pick those trojans up off the ground once the INDIANS have run all over them, we beat them by doudle digits last year AND WILL AGAIN this year. I think our 8th graders could run a good game with your varsity players!   ;)

Best of luck Cleveland. Can't really tell ya anything that you probably didn't see last night. They told us they run a 50 on defense, yet they had 3 inside backers, #1 and #24 on the outside. With them loading the box, we thought we could get outside, but #24 and #1 have the speed to get outside. 8 hole series and 9 hole series should work for you guys, especially if your pulling guards can kick/seal.

Hats off to Coldspring. On a night we could not afford to turn the ball over, we had three fumbles lost and a bautched deep snap. We kept both RBs in check for a while and then they would hit the big play. #24 from Coldspring is the real deal. Cleveland and Coldspring should be a great matchup.

Just go take it to them, you know that once you get a few hits on them fast backs they kinda slow up for some reason! if you get to play, it should be a good game, but you can't let them big plays kill ya. Good luck!

Thanks. If we can prevent the big plays, chew up the clock on scoring drives, then its gonna be a fight. Your right, we hit that one kid and he doesn't like contact that much at all.

Hey guys what happen to the Scott kid bc thought he was headed to Tech? Cleveland how many of you kids are headed for a scholarship? Mallet is going to UH right and Reed is getting some looks but anyone else?

Last time I heard, Mallett was heading to TCU and the Reed is gettin looks as a junior.

I will give a scouting report on how good Coldspring is this year. Last year we lost to them by 6 pts. Our stud LB will be able to play against them this year, so Im curious to see what happens when we start laying the hat.

Be honest, I haven't seen Cleveland play thus far and only seen Coldspring in film. Coldspring is athletic, as usual, with a great QB. Coldspring is not as physical as they were last year, but still fly around the ball. If Cleveland can contain Allen, they will win. I'm gonna give Cleveland the edge, but not by much.

Congrats. Tarkington is even worst than Shepherd. They only have about 20 kids on the 8th grade team. Our B team played after the 1st qtr.

Shepherd is weak. They run a lot of pro set, with a sweep and a dive. Sometimes they will line up twins, but 90% of the time run sweep to the weak side. If they do run that way, its a reverse with the inside receiver.
