  1. Did it not seem like everything BC did tonight was a travel to Jackson? Good Lord it was ridiculous!
  2. Keep showing up for them! They’ll be back on top.
  3. The 55-51 game was by far the more accurate game. I can link much better game footage than HUDL for anyone to make that assessment. Even in the 72-55 game, the score was 36-32 at half time. In any game, the more aggressive team fouls more especially if they’re playing full court defense for 32 minutes. Somehow every time a game is played at Silsbee, they don’t call blatant fouls against them. That game last night lasted almost an hour and a half due to all of the soft calls. Seemed like an attempted bail out. It’s been no different in the past. Last night, Silsbee shot 32 free throws, BC shot 16 free throws and 4 flagrant shots. One ref called 18 fouls, one called 17 and the third called 3. I actually thought BC had a decent turnout considering the atmosphere that has been there in the past. The amount of law enforcement present speaks for itself on that one. No matter who is playing, the fans should stay till the final buzzer to support their team. Fans trickling out a couple at a time is less obvious than a mass exodus! Just sayin.
  4. Bridge City only lost by 4 points to Silsbee last year with all of their “super stars!” What was the excuse then? It’s sad that when Silsbee is on top, the fans are die hard but let them lose one game and look, they get kicked to the curb. What a shame! Half of the stands got up and left in the middle of the 4th quarter because BC controlled that game until the end. How embarrassing for those boys. Silsbee isn’t a bad team, BC was just the better team, and 2 of the 4 quarters, weren’t their best.
  5. The BC Senior boys have been waiting for this season for a long time. They have been playing together since 5-6 years old. Played Travel ball together. Won National championships together. Daspit set them up great with a tough pre-season even though the football boys showed up late due to a long playoff run, then a bunch came down sick in December. That HJ game was a wash because they pretty much played the BC JV team with several sick kids. The early PNG and Nederland games were when the football boys just got there. They didn’t even have footing yet. Even though the record that they have right now doesn’t look great, they have played some very tough teams and the losses were not by much. These aren’t excuses but it’s understandable who they were playing with at those times. When district started, their mindset changed, I know my son's did. He’s in a zone now and his goal as a leader is a District Championship. These games are what matter. Like @Setxhasbeen said, when those boys start firing on all cylinders, they’re a hard group to beat!
  6. What games were you able to watch of BC?
  7. When BC played HJ, Daspit had to move up 5 JV players due to sicknesses and the ones that did play were half sick as well. Wish we could have played them full strength. Gonna be a great season!
  8. Not surprising at all honestly…Vidor couldn’t handle the defense at all. BC has been playing nothing by 5A & 6A. They’ve been battle tested and we hope they keep this up! 71-49 BC final Starters pulled out at a 40 point lead.
  9. 60-24 BC end of the 3rd
  10. 46-26 BC 4 minutes left in 4th
  11. It almost seemed like there were just as many BC fans in the stands as HJ
  12. That ain’t no lie!!
  13. The overrated chants from the HJ side got me laughing! What was overrated?
  14. Yeah he’s not doing good right now…he’s for sure sick also but tried to push through. Some of the boys from JV that Daspit pulled up got sick before the game too and left
  15. That was bad! Real bad!
  16. Mungy definitely brings a different dynamic to the court! Hoping it’s a good game tonight with no injuries! Good luck to OF tonight!
  17. I wasn’t meaning it would be ugly, just saying it could if BC played like they know how…toss of the coin sometimes if you know what I mean? Which BC team will show up? All I can really judge it off of is the scrimmage that BC had against HJ, knowing what BC had as a team at that time compared to now and just looking at some scores. The first WB game surprised me the most but then the second time they played them, it was different. I do think it’ll be a good game for sure. BC’s defense was nonexistent at the first of the season but they’ve found some good momentum especially with Football being back. BC is having to move up a few JV kids tonight to cover for the ones that are out. Looking forward to a good game tonight.
  18. Bridge City scrimmaged HJ at the first of the season and handled them pretty well with mostly JV players and only a couple veteran varsity players on the court. BC does have a few players out sick and a starter out with a sprained ankle. It’s been kinda hard to get a good read on HJ this season. If BC plays like they played in the Montgomery Tournament, it could be ugly.
  19. Bryan didn’t miss a midrange jumper that whole game! It was tight the entire game too! Great matchup with that 6A team! They were also a good free throw shooting team and super athletic. BC has improved at the line throughout the season. Only going to get better! They seem to be fixing the little mistakes made earlier on. Small defensive mistakes keep catching them. Overall, very proud of those boys. They held their own against those big schools. Great shooting, finishing and teamwork by Denison and Bush. Silveira had an incredible game against Montgomery. Mungy was just Mungy…can’t say enough there. Bush had seven 3s in the championship and finished the weekend averaging 20.2ppg. Congrats to Bush and Mungy on All-Tournament Team.
  20. Bridge City 55 Australia 34 Bridge City 57 Spring 61
  21. Oh I agree, but PNG will make them work for it
  22. Yes! That has been a problem all season so far! We missed more than 5. Definitely something that needs to be practiced daily.
