to Burns.... it is going to hurt because you have not thrown in a while.... your arm will recover.... Play this year, do some shoulder exercises, (your coach can help you with the type of exercises) There is no excuse not to play.... Even if you can't pitch this year, you will be with your team and learn more than your realize.............Play!!!!.......your team needs you.

[/quote] I was a part of that freshman team that beat Jasper 7 out of 8 times and silsbee twice and beat Hardin Jefferson but luck was not the issue it was the freshman coach that was the issue chris mckeller where ever he went they got a heck of a baseball coach I wish he could have took over in Kirbyville. these are all great posts......And I agree with most of it..... At the [b]High School level [/b] I could see letting my son play for a select team but would have to have a great coach....like Fackler.....extra cuts and [b]quality[/[b]b] instruction[/b] are important..........and eveyone wants the best for their kid..... but it is not the freshman-Sr that select has a impact on....... Its the lower levels......9-14 year olds... we are losing kids at that age because of select.... every town wants to have a select team which is making the litlle league teams shut down..... kids are quiting at to young of a age because they don't have a place to play because a lot of the "chosen" kids are playing select.....this cuts down on numbers and then their is not enough to start a league. Now some of these coaches are starting to persuade the parents to play select year round.. this means no high school ball...  this could destroy high school ball....

Even though Kirbyville lost a bunch of SR. last year.......Its going to very exciting to watch these men play this year and next as well.  They have a deadly combo of pitching.  Kale and Burns along with Downs as a 3rd starter or relief all JR.  these boy can swing the bat as well... Holesombeck, Jones, Harris, Downs, Coleson just to name a few...they also aquired a kid from Japer who has great hands and can swing it..... Kirbyville baseball has come along way when someone from jasper transfers with baseball talent... The great thing about these men is that they work hard and never give up...... Many of them were on the state team this year so you know they have heart and determination. As long as they can stay focused......they can do great things..... Kirbyville get out your chairs and watch these men play ball!!!!!!!!!!!

18 of 22 starters of GCM players. 5 first, 5 second and 8 hon. They are still considered all district!! to be nominated a coach has to put you up. I know that. why would a coach put up that many? does he really think they are all worthy of being all district? the problem is with the system... Coaches are allowed to put up who ever. I know a coach is supposed to fight for his kids but their has to be a limit. the coaches need to come together and set up rules which only allows you to so many!!!!! And I believe you are right, North Forest had something to do with this...... Lets see how many they have being the last place team!!

I got his bad feeling Crosby got screwed!!!!!   If what is true by the upper posts......... that a 4th place team got 1 super (O MVP with 18 or 19 turnovers??? cant remember it was so high!!!!), 4 first team, 2 second team and a 3rd place got 5 first team, 5 second team........ that would be [b]9 out of 22 first teams was taken by just them[/b], and 8 out of 22 second teams..............not much left for the top 2 teams...... This is how I can already tell this is screwed up............... [b]8 honor men, 5 1st, and 5 2nd from a 3rd place team[/b]......that is [b]18 out of 22 starting players [/b] by a team that finished 3rd and was 1 and done in playoffs!!!!!! This sounds like evey coach just put most of his kids for everything......... their has to be guide lines!!!!!!!
