  1. Yea not with those numbers. I thought they’d be closer to the cutoff, I was wrong.
  2. Multiple schools have been opting up with success. Desoto being the first that comes to mind. Hopefully UIL gets their together and we’re back in region 3 with schools closer to us in proximity.
  3. 1,000 more students? I’m not sure what our screenshot was but I’m assuming it was around 1800. We’re a large D2. D1 starts at 1903 if I’m not mistaken. 1,000 more kids would be comfortably in 6A which isn’t what I was implying.
  4. That’s understandable. My wife teaches in PA so I could send my kid over there if he wanted
  5. Come on over and wear that purple and white 😂😂
  6. Anyone know when the mocks will start coming out? Wondering if we‘ll see some changes to the districts locally. Hoping they use their damn heads and put PNG back in region 3.
  7. We’d have to lose a few hundred kids. I believe Nederland is closer to that 4a d1 number
  8. Thanks for the clarification, I’m even more confused now 😂😂. It’s a complete mess. As far as football goes, they should just opt up. Road games wouldn’t be a 3 hour drive and the talent gap between D2 and D1 is minimal
  9. I think my main question is how you have families living in port neches but having to send their kids to Nederland. It’s never made sense to me. Would that be a zoning issue?
  10. I get the feeling a lot of the folks around here don’t want any growth.
  11. I married into the whole purple cult thing and genuinely love it but I’ve for a few questions. The city line and school district lines are so confusing. You’ve got a lot of Port neches homes that are Nederland school district, a part of Groves that is PA school district, etc. I’ve heard numerous PN citizens opposed to apartments, etc, things to expand the enrollment of our school. While I don’t agree with open enrollment, it’s hard to grow when there’s limited space for people to move to. Is it an old way of thinking? Is it people who are stuck in their ways and don’t want to grow? It almost feels like “we gotta keep the trash out” mentality. Hopefully I’m wrong. Coming at it from a football perspective, it would do them some good to gain about 200 kids and move up to D1. It would make sense logistically. I’m not trying to start any bs, it’s just something that’s been on my mind.
  12. Nope, not guilty about anything actually. I support the whole community. I don’t let a few bad apples ruin my perspective. Saying PNG has no class while SOC players are doing the tomahawk in their faces after TDs is laughable. Just say what you really mean 🤣
  13. You’ll root for them why? Because they’re predominantly black? Some of yall are sad. It was a gg by both teams. The absence of Bailey was definitely a difference. That game is a tall task for any QB let alone a sophomore starting his 3rd game. Hopefully next season we’re out of this region and can get back to playing schools in our areas.
  14. This is the best post I’ve seen. Bravo 👏. If you see it, I see it, other fans see it, hopefully the OC sees it.
