I’m really been trying to be more positive on here. I didn’t say anything negative, incorrect, or insulting. You asked if I was surprised. They went 17-16 with an inarguably soft schedule, and most likely will finish 4th in a 7 team district, and will most likely bow out in the 1st round of the playoffs. I could’ve predicted that 6 months ago. What am I supposed to do here? Pretend I’m surprised, and that they’ve had some master class of a season? They’ve had an okay season. I can’t make it into something it’s not.
4 really bad teams on the schedule that’s soft? That’s about the same as your boy at HJ

Not really. They surprised me last year. This year they’re about where I thought they’d be. A .500ish record and a low playoff seed. If someone had asked before the season (and it might be in writing on the site), I woulda had them 4th or 5th, and it looks like the most likely result is gonna be the 4-seed, unless vidor pulls an upset. If they beat HJ or HF in the first round then they will have surprised me. BC surprised me the most this season. After going 1-11 in district last year, and 12-23 overall, for them to have a winning record and a shot at the 4th playoff spot going into their last game is impressive.
Lol still not giving them credit I see doesn’t surprise me.

After watching the game last night, it was very clear that Lumberton was the more talented team than Bridge City. But that might not be saying much.
Josh is doing a good job with this team.
Oh, pretty sure everyone here knows who I am. lol
Ok I didnt know if Doxing was a new thing on Setxsports.

Lot's of coaches would be better off. Kind of goes without saying.
Just checking BW.
Let me simplify it. When he has had a decent amount of talent hes gotten alot out of those teams. When his talent level is lower he keeps them competitive. There you go MS

You saying Yates was suppose to go to Lumberton High?
Lol I am saying if he had a player of that caliber.

He’s almost to .500 on the season
Yep, doing a good job. If he had Wesly Yates then he should probably have a much better record.

Maybe he has started doing more coaching and less berating and demeaning. That is what I have noticed anyway.
Sounds alittle soft

I’m sure the guy is a great coach but not sure I’m gonna base a win over Bridge City as the reason 😂😂

So anyway, back to the game. This much needed win for the Raiders puts some added importance to their next two games against BC and Vidor. Sweep those and they're in a good spot to make a run at the playoffs. Split them and they're still plenty alive. Get swept and they're in trouble. The middle of this district is certainly a lot more interesting than the top right now. I'm also curious to see if LCM can right the ship. It really did seem like a foregone conclusion for most that LCM was going to easily finish top-3 in this district. I still expect that, but they're going to have to figure some stuff out.
Way to go Coach Mitchell!!

Are you saying that HJ wins because of talent, but Lumberton wins (well, sorta) because of exceptional coaching?
I believe HJ hasnt lived up to the BISD talent running through their veins. On the subject of coaching I think some coaches have a stronger culture and better plans to get more out of their talent level. Others dont do a good job preparing for strong opponents or generally have a loose culture that rears its head when situations get stressful. Sometimes people get bad matchups.
