Now that District is here... it will be a very interesting and competitive district, but this is how I see it shaping up. 1. LCM (15-4) - District champs from last year with all returners. Lexie Moss is absolutely killing the ball. I believe she leads the area in Home runs with 8. EIther her or Smith from Kountze. Very solid pitching and defense also. Will be some great battles against Fall. 2. BC (11-9) - The only reason they are competitive is because of Fall. She is a phenom but can't do it all by herself. They do not hit the ball well at all and defense is average at best when the ball is put in play. 3. Vidor (15-5) - Vidor is doing very well with what they have. A couple of young players are stepping up. They even beat BS with Fall pitching in a tournament. I can see them slipping up and losing a game or two that they shouldn't. 4. Silsbee (14-5) - Doing much better than poeple thought. Won a couple close games against solid teams. Very young though, so who knows how they will respond to adversity when it comes up. I believe they start 6 freshman and 2 sophomores, so the future looks bright for them, if this is true. 5. Jasper (7-9) - Jasper is under performing so far if you ask me. They have Sells, which is an absolute beast, but other than her, they are struggling this year. They will be in the mix for that 4th spot, but I just do not see them getting it. 6. Lumberton (4-11) - Once they get their best player back from injury, they will be competitive for the 4th spot also. They hit the ball decently, but they do not have a dominating pitcher. 7. WOS - (5-13) - .... I think 1 and 2 could honestly go either way. 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be fun to see how it shapes up, but I give the nod to Vidor right now.

Might be the worse selection I've seen. Where are these two young men going to school on scholarship?

You are correct on that. She struck ut 16 but they still lost 4-0. The beat Nederland last night 4-0. Fall had 20 strikeouts but BC only had 3 hits against average pitching.

Pitchers will NOT get injured from overuse if they are pitching 7 innings every Tuesday and Friday. This is not baseball. I have witnessed softball pitchers pitch in 5-6 games on a sunday coming out of the losers bracket in a tournament. Now, they CAN get injured if they are pitching 2-3 hours every day. But, no one in their right mind would do that. Without Fall, they become 2 seed at minimum. The #2 pitcher is still solid, but she is not a Kentucky commit.

No such thing as being over used as a pitcher in softball. But if she stays healthy, BC #1 for sure. Vidor will not compete with LCM. LCM did not lose anyone from their district championship team last season. 3/4/5/6 Will be Vidor/Silsbee/Lumberton/Jasper in any order. If I had to put my money on it, it would be... BC, LCM, Vidor, Silsbee, Lumberton, Jasper, WOS

So WOS loses to 5a state champs PNG by 6, 3a Power house Newton by 4, #2 state ranked Silsbee by 14, #7 ranked HF by 7, 4th round team Jasper by 3 and we are saying that HH is not a good coach? I think wos fans are a little delusional. Someone said wos has the same athletes as Gilmer? WOS did NOT have the caliber player that Gilmer had. Overall, WOS is very athletic, but they were not as talented as the teams from the years past. Give HH a chance. Next year should be a very good season for the Mustangs.
