Some history: The two teams have met only 3 times in the history of PNG. Twice in the playoffs, once in district. One was at Baytown, other two in PNG. Montgomery has never had a home game against PNG. 2021 playoffs PNG 49- Montgomery (10-2) 41, 2022 playoffs PNG 38- Montgomery (2-9) 17, 2024 PNG 37- Montgomery (8-3) 31. Seems to be relative close games.

What's with Huntsville? A team like that with so much talent, how do they get beat like they did by Montgomery? Are they not playing for the new coach?

Dayton by 14

Montgomery Defense has been play pretty well, but secondary is not good, gives up to many big plays. Stopping #1, #12 and #8 will be a big task for the Lions. See this one as a high scoring rivalry game withe the Lions pulling the upset

I am a retired coach with two State champioship rings, but the officating in the PNG/Montgomery was as bad as I have ever seen. Watched film of game plus was at game and PNG first TD #15 fumbled before crossing the plane and montgomery recovered in the endzone on 4th down. Line judge calls TD before fumble. Very, very obvious ball was fumbled before breaking the plain. Difference in ball game and a chance for district championship is 6 pts. Unbelieveable this is the best that can be found for A HUGE 5A Game and the refrees make the difference in who wins. Takes the game out of the kids hands

does tonights game need to be played??? Sounds like PNG and Nederland already have the 1st and 2nd place secured.

Dayton at Montgomery!

Seen Kingwood Park play both teams. Dayton has had a few injuries which has hurt them, but other wise playing great ball on both sides. Montgomery offense is far and the best for them, 3 good running backs, 2QB and Oline much improved. Defense has many holds, can be undisciplined, don't play their positions well, and can have a hard time tackling. Looks to be a good game but montgomery defense can't stop running water.

I am a former coach of 28 years with 2 state championship rings and I would like two say at this game Friday I saw two of the most impressive players at their position as I have ever seen. Jaylon Washington from Montgomery is as god of Back as in the state. Never quits, going forward on ever play and giving 120% ever time he touches the ball. On 3 carries in the 2nd half he had 190yards and 2 Tds, impressive. Why he is not getting offers is beyond me. He is a quality person as well as football player. Cole Crippen from Port Neches was awesome as a QB, 24-29/over 300 yards and dropping balls in the bucket and throwing TD's between 3 defenders, and never under stress. Very impressive young men who I can see playing on Saturdays -
Montgomery gives up 25 points a game. But offense is very strong scoring 41 points a game. PNG scores 39 points a game and give up 32 points a game. Lake Creek game did not mean anything to Montgomery they had already clinched district championship and it meant much more to Lake Creek being the cross town rivals, so you can throw that game out the door.
