I never said the guy got knocked out, I said HJ started getting hits. About the last 4 hitters in a row to be exact. Your telling me if he had gotten those batters out they would have still pulled him? Had he gotten them out, the game would have been over and he would have gotten the complete game. The guy is good, not taking anything away, just believe he got pulled because of hits... If you call rips into the gap "texas leagers" then I guess they were..... HJ did not plummel the guy, they just finally got on him in the next to last inning. HJ's starter got 5 of the 1st 6 batters out, and then a dinky ground ball got miss-played, an infield pop-up got missed and he could not recover. Didnt leave him in too long, just noticed the mighty BC couldnt touch him and gave him a chance to pitch out of it. BC got 5 runs that inning.... HJ got 4 or 5 on Guidry in the 6th. Did BC leave hom in too long?

HJ started hittng him then got pulled. Im sure if he was getting outs he would have been left in. We had him at 114 and he was still throwing...

Without alot of effort? Thats good to know... HJ gets back on track tonight!

Silsbee plays a tough non district schedule, because when district rolls around the Tigers are battle tested and ready to play for a District title. I havent heard that, my oldest son actually told me since the old AD left he can see a big difference in his maxes. He said coach Granger changed the workout after Martel left and he sees a difference already. That may be where the conflict lies, some kids might not be ready for a real workout. Thats what is so exciting to me about a new coach, alot of these kids are going to get shell-shocked when a hard nosed football guy gets in there... I cant wait! I remember when two-a-days was really 2 full practices a day. Mostly agility drills and one on one. By the second day, the practice field smelled like an "Icey Hot" factory. Awwe man, smell of the fresh cut grass then it itches cause its stuck to you with the ben gay, the stinch of the musty used shoulder pads, 102 degrees cause its August 1st in SE Texas, that little spot right behind the ear thats not used to the helmet yet and hurts, mouth piece taste like rubber and dont fit cause your dad hasnt gotten a chance to boil it yet.... I miss those days...

I think, and i say this with all honesty, that a new coach will have something to prove and when it comes time for the Silsbee or WOS game, HJ will run it down your throat!!!! Because thats how you beat Silsbee and WOS, you keep them beastly QB's on the sideline and eat up the clock.... We have the personel to do it, just need the new guy to recognize it. And I believe they will. It cant get any worse than it was, it can only get better...

Ok Fran, let me write this in crayon so you can understand it.... I have never went to a coach about my kids playing time... Wether or not I coached pee wee is irrelivant because my footbal knowledge goes beyond peewee... For one, my son was a starter on varsity as a freshman... Why go to the coach about playing time when my son rarely comes off the field? 2nd, thats what your golfing football coaching buddies told you because they know you will get on here and blabber your big flapper like Lazeek acting like you know a bunch stuff that in reality you know nothing... Oh, and staying in a Holiday Inn is nothing like playing in a Cotton Bowl. You see in a Cotton Bowl or any other bowl you meet people with simular interest, like football... All that tells me is that you couldnt afford a Hilton..... mod edit: watch the foul talk please.

I personally know 3 of the applicants. I'm sure Mical knows a few more than me. You see, when you have been involed in football your whole life, wether it be peewee, jr high, high school, college or even pro, you meet alot of folks. Mical played at a lot higher level than probably anyone on this forum with the exception of very, very, VERY few. So you either played with them, against them or for them.... Or their dad or brother.... How many cotton bowls you play in FRAN?

Mical, it doesnt matter what you say, this forum is biased. These Silsbee folks will light you up for saying hello. I think half of them are moderators and the other half are friends with the moderators..

I was hoping that dude from Palestine was a finalist. Dubois also. Either would be good for our program, or would be good to get the program started....

With your talent pool and size of your community, you guys are really considered under achievers..... Best qb in the state and you beat 3 teams we could have beat and your going to hang your hat on that? Your a good team, but not unbeatable... Silsbee and WOS should be in the playoffs every year and should go deep..... But you dont.... Usually its one and done!!! WOS has around 1500 kids in the district, you guys have almost 900 and we have a little over 700. Really, WOS and SIlsbee should be running the playoffs every year.... Hang your hat on a acheivement guys.... Not one and done.... How about a spelling contest.... Naaaa we would win that one... How about STAR test.... No we would win that too, hmmmmmmmm.... I dont pressure any of my kids. I try to help them just like any other dad would do. Thats one thing about this website, things get so blown out of proportion that its comical. I tell them, if your going to do it, lets do it 100% because its much more fun to be on the field rather than on the bench. I've told them since they started organized sports when they were 5 years old that the fun of football is not playing grab-ass with your buddy, the fun of it is knocking the crap out of someone, or making a long run, or scoring a touchdown or getting that big block the broke the running back free and your buddies pat you on the back or give you a high five while thousands of people are cheering for you... Thats the fun of it. Thats all i tell them wether its football, baseball, hunting, or tiddly winks. Much more fun to be good at it and be successful...

Basically, some of the folks on here may know a board member, or a coach, or an administrator and we all get little tidbits here and there. IMO knowone posting on this forum really knows who the front runners are unless Dr Holmes is in here under a screen name and I seriously doubt that. I have lots of friends here that played football at a higher level than I did and they know alot of the different guys on the list an when they say "I know this guy and he's a good choice" then I believe them. I heard the Bell guy would be a great choice, the co-ordinator from Vidor, Hubbard, and the dude from Palestine. Doesnt matter really to me, I just hope that whoever it is makes our kids compete for positions instead of just handing them out like its been done in the past... They need to make our 2-a-days painful like everyone else does...

Yeah, thats more like it. I saw the first list. There are some good coaches on that list.

Over 30 people put in for that job. You didnt see a complete list, no one has accept the folks involved. Believe me, there are some exceptional coaches from exceptional programs being looked at...
