[/quote] My thing has never been about winning... Its about being competitive..... Its about being proud to put that uniform on every friday. Its the things you learn about being a team player. If your doing the right things, the wins will come. I honestly believe that when this team hits the field in August, you all will see why I have been so outspoken about the lack of a program. Am I saying HJ will go undefeated? No, I'm saying we will be a hell of alot more competitive. I've said all along HJ needs to run a mis-direction or power type offense. We needed to run some blitzes on defense. We needed an off season weight program.... We needed a coach that demands respect from his players and does not care what a parent says. If this doesnt work, then I have been wrong all along. You guys are making it look like I was in the AD's office every day.... I went there 2 times in the 8 years David was here.... There were other parents that spent lots of time with him... If Im wrong I'll eat my crow, appologize to Coach Martel, and never post here again... Thats a promise....

Let me just say that with whatever disagreements anyone has with Edelmon, you always get the truth and he'll say it right to your face.  I respect a guy like that.  I may not agree with some things he says, but I have a lot of respect for someone as 'real' as him.  I could have dinner with a fella like that even if we didn't see eye to eye.  As for some of the folks I see him 'debating' with, I don't quite know what to think of you.  It seems you only try to build your own program up by tearing others down.  That's just mean-spirited and couldn't possibly have a good ending to it.  I couldn't share a meal with you.  You'd probably spit in my food when I wasn't looking but you wouldn't do it to my face.  I don't think HJ will disappoint this year.[b]  I don't know that they will beat Silsbee but you cause 4 or 5 turnovers and they just might[/b].  They will certainly be competitive in every game and that should make for an enjoyable season for players, coaches, fans on both sides of the fields.  More successful programs and better competition in our area helps everyone get better and that's what its all about.  Good luck to all the teams this year.
