1. How about this? 1. LCM 2. Silsbee 3. Livingston 4. Bridge City 5. Barbers Hill 6. GCM 7. Huffman 8. Nederland 9. Vidor 10. Lumberton 11.WestBrook 12. Baytown Lee 13. Lufkin Hudson 14. PNG 15. Crosby/Jasper
2.
Warner is a beast, 10 ks and and set up the winning run with a double after a questionable call on what should have been a home run.  Also great job by Crain, very composed player for a freshman.
I was sitting in stands on first base side.  Perfect view down the line.  It was a home run.  Preston is having a solid season on the mound and a better season at the plate.  Weston Crain was very impressive for Orangefield.  Orangefield is a young team, as is Kelly.  Look for good things from these programs in the years to come.
3. Sorry to have opened a can of worms.  I guess I didn't realize there were so many last year, or in previous years.  Guess we are right on track.
4. By my count, thanks to Critter keeping up with homers, there have been 234 home runs hit this season to date.  Any ideas on why so many home runs?  Favorable weather/wind patterns?  Juiced ball/corked bats (kidding), weaker pitching? I follow Kelly Baseball most closely and nearly every starter has at least one home run this year.  I notice other teams like WestBrook and PNG putting up big numbers as well.  Any thoughts?  I keep thinking district play will cut into those numbers, but that has not really been the case thus far.
5. Tonight against HJ, Kelly had 3 home runs - Daniel Messina (1), Preston Warner (5), and Dane Steinhagen (4)
6. Warner, Daniel Messina, Steinhagen homered for Kelly.
7. Jasper is a relatively young team, which may lead to inconsistencies all year.  However, this junior class is a very good class at Jasper.  Very familiar with them all, as we grew up playing against them our whole life.  Very battle tested and probably playoff bound again this year. Kirbyville is a very good team as well.  With their depth at pitching, Kirbyville will be very competitive this year.  Break'em keep taking them for granted.  You will see them again in the playoffs.  With Kirbyville's three solid starters, plus others to fill in for relief, you better hope you win the toss and choose a one-game playoff.  Kirbyville will be tough in a three game format.
8. WH is getting better.  Look for good things in the future of the program while Stevie Mac is the coach.
9.
So who does Kirbyville have besides Kael Jones?
Tyler Downs and Blayke Coleson
10. Actually, I think Floyd and Soisson both pitched for Jasper Junior/Senior league team, back in the day.
11.
So we should look to see one of those two possibly both. What kind of velocity does #22 bring?
Downs - Low to mid 80's.  Jones - Mid 80's
12.
#22 is the one that i saw do a great job. #9 is also good.
22 is Tyler Downs, 9 is Kale Jones.  Again, the team who plays error free will win.  This will not be an easy walk in the park for Jasper, IF Kirbyville can cut down on their errors.  I saw Jasper play a couple of times in the Vidor tourney and saw Kirbyville in Orangefield tourney.  This isn't your same old Kirbyville team for years past.  Kirbyville has more seniority, where Jasper is younger.  But Jasper does have a good program.  Again, the error free team will win.
13.
So, we have 34 schools that have hit at least one bomb for a total of 202 hr's.
Enjoy it while you can folks, BBCOR bats will cut this number next year, SIGNIFICANTLY.  I saw a couple of Liberty players hit with them this past weekend.  Sounds like dead aluminum/wood when it hits.  Not as much jump off the bat as a drop 3 bat.  Not even close. Critter, thanks for taking the time to keep up with these stats.  I am sure it can be a pain in the neck.
14. As to who wins district, Hudson looks good on paper, but I have not seen them play. I have seen Jasper and Kirbyville play.  Some on this post seem to make Kirbyville out to be a door mat.  I think they may surprise some people this year.  Coleson, Jones, and Downs are throwing well so far this year.  They are also hitting the ball well.  Holsomback is solid behing the plate, as well as with the stick.  Like many other teams, if Kirbyville can get their errors reduced, they might make some waves in district.  Do not look past this team, 18-3A. Oh and I have no dog in this hunt.  No pun intended.  I am from Beaumont.
15. Great job at the rankings. I have seen more than half these teams so far, PNG/Nederland #1/1A I agree with.  LCM is a good team.  Good contributions from under classmen Swan and Humphrey on the offensive side.  Kody Smith looks good so far.  LCM is fundamentally sound.  Silsbee has to get their defense and pitching solidified, or they will slide down the rankings.  Same with Bridge City.  Both have the talent to make a run in the playoffs, just need to cut down on the errors. Lumberton is solid.  Orangefield has great offense and getting solid performances from a few freshmen.  Jasper and Vidor should retain their spots, if not climb a little over the season.  I look for Kirbyville to be the sleeper rising up the rankings over the year.  Kelly is still young.  May be a year away from making a serious bid. Thanks again for the rankings.  Makes for great conversation.
16. At Kelly tournament today, Grady Talbot hit his first home run, a walk off GW homer against Liberty. In the Orangefield game, Kelly had home runs from Preston Warner, Thomas Falgout, Adam Morrow, and Brentan Schwabb.  Warner's 4th of the year, the first for Falgout, Morrow, and Schwaab.
17. Liberty is competitive and coach has enthusiasm.  But Kelly is not playing real well now.  Defense and pitching giving up a lot of runs per game.  Kelly is very young, so hopefully they will improve as the season progresses.
18.

Ok so does kirbyville play in buna or orangefield at 445? I've heard buna then I've heard orangefield
The latest schedule has Kirbyville playing in Buna.
Who are they playing?  I heard Kelly and Kirbyville play at 4:45 in Orangefield.  Surely, they won't make Kelly play Central at 12:15, then hop on a bus to travel up to Buna for a 4:45 game.  But, who knows?  Maybe.
19. Completely agree.  Silsbee/Kelly had a combined 10 errors yesterday.  Reading reports of numerous errors/passed balls in other games too.  After 6-7 games played, you would think the errors would be cut down by now.  Not enough infield/outfield practice across SE Texas?  I know there is plenty of talent in the area coaching and player wise.
