I think all our schools in the area have had alot to deal with (covid, storms, etc). I'm proud of all the schools for dressing out and playing with what you got. One thing is true "We are South East Texas Strong!"

It's easy on this forum to trash the small 2A schools. Understood, our district isn't threatening any State titles. Football is a completely different game when your entire High School football program has 18-24 kids dress and no "legacy" programs here. Hull-Daisetta, High Island, Evadale, Burkeville, Deweyville, Sabine Pass...they simply can't hardly overcome a key injury or two. Sure, they'll line up and play with what they have and they'll take an "L". I know a few "prestigious programs" locally that can't seem to line up due to a twisted goal post or a damaged jumbo-tron. Our boys probably won't get to enjoy a single home game this year, we lost all our stadium lights at our stadium. They just wanna play. And yes, we scraped up enough kids with damaged homes and no power to run up to Cushing and get beat. I'm still proud. And to all of the above mentioned schools in our district...great job on keeping your season together. We have 3 key kids out this week but we'll go to Warren Friday and give 'em all we got.

I know the four horsemen will always be a famous punchline as long as this forum is around..... but the truth is HD has a few super talented skill position players. They’re freshmen and sophomores but these are kids that would contribute at the 3A/4A level now and would be all-district/district MVP type players in a couple years. That’s the truth. Most of the really talented kids that HD has had has moved on to greener pastures and have done well (the Harrell brothers to Huffman and then to KU and Arkansas, the Peterson brothers to Goose Creek Memorial/Liberty/Beaumont Westbrook etc). These kids are as good or potentially better than those boys. We shall see

Hardin should win just based on numbers. They’re 3 divisions higher (3A-D1 vs 2A-D2) but I think it’ll be a competitive game. Hardin’s line will most likely control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball but HD surprisingly has some really solid young skill players. If all those freshmen grew up over the past year they have a good shot at surprising people (still think they’re a year or two away from making some noise in the D2 playoffs). On the other hand, Hardin is... Hardin 🤷🏻‍♂️
