1.
This is 2011 and there are cameras everywere, and as I said earlier there are judgment calls that half of the people will fell that were wrong. But this call was black and white. Eather he got the shot off or not. How long would it have took to go look at the film? And then they could have seen the ball in the players hand, with the score board in the back ground lite up. Then they put 4 min. on the clock and the players deside the out come of the game. This game was a game of runs. and with it being tied eather team could have won that game.
For once I totally agree with you Mr Blue!!!    100%
 2. :o :o :o....You were right there Rebels!!!  Not sure if that helps or hurts!  Great season!
 3. I don't think anyone believes there was a conspiracy to keep Evadale out of the championship game or anything predetermined took place.  The point that most on here are trying make is that A VERY IMPORTANT CALL WAS MISSED.  A call that did indeed alter the outcome of the game.  Who's to stay that Eula's stud player doesn't blow his knee out or twist his ankle during the jump ball for OT.  You have to play it out and let it be decided on the court of play.  Many on here have said Evadale was done anyway...how the heck can you say that???  Many crazy things can happen in a game and it was a missed call that ended this game.  You can throw all the variables at this you want but that's the bottom line, Evadale was not given the chance to pull it out (or loose it) in OT.  And given a chance, anything can happen. Hold your heads up Rebels...at least you were there!!!
 4.
CanEVADALE make it to state?
As said by Mr Blue, it  depends on what team shows up.  I've watched Evadale a couple times this year and IF they can get the ball inside they can play with anyone.  Of course, if #3 can hit the 3 then thats good for the outside and inside game!
 5. Wasn't refering to you either Blue.  You just can't seem to keep you foot out of your mouth.  I'm starting to think Evadale will be a heck of a lot better when you have no reason to come to the games!  That'll be soon enough.
 6. If someone knows when it starts, let us know.  I know a few people, like MO, have already watched the final season on DirecTv. Sure hate that this will be the final season!!!
 7. For the record, WHSALUM, I assure you my post was in no way meant for you.  There's been alot of posts on this thread and I agree with alot of what you and a couple others have said and some are just goofy .  I'll just leave it at that.
 8. St Anne's puts on a pretty good tourney every year, if they contact SA soon they could probably get a spot there!
 9. Can't we all just get along?  ;D I agree with what someone said earlier on this thread that most of the mouthing is from folks who aren't playing or have never played. (now, I'm not pointing at anyone here)  Just saying, in two years how many of these guys will still be watching basketball in Evadale or Big Sandy?  Only those true fans will remain. I've talked to a few people about the Tech and some say #21 made another great block and turned around and was "pumped" about it, therefore, a bad call.  Some have said #21 made a great block and got in the Big Sandy players face and was "pumped" up, therefore, the right call.  BUT really, none of this matters, the game was played and Evadale won...EVERYONE I talked to said the call (right or wrong) was used wisely by Coach Williams to get the entire Evadale team and fans "pumped" and the Rebs stepped up immediately after that and poured it on.
 10. Guess the Pirates tough pre-distrct schedule just wore em down!
 11.
BS BY 15!!!!!!!!!
Missed that one by 45
 12. What you say does make sense.  But Evadale is certainly not the only school in the area that has athletes that play every sport and compete every day, some for 4 years.  It is an admirable quality that the athletes in small schools possess but it's certainly not unique to Evadale. But I do see your point in regards to a Football school going against a non football school in the game of basketball.  The schools that don't play basketball certainly start bouncing the ball sooner.  But this has been the case for many, many years. Good luck to the Rebels Friday night.
 13.
I was told @ the BS game Sat.by a HD fan  that the Evadale boys talk trash to the HD player and the Evadale coach was having a fit on the bench about some of the calls made by the ref. So be cool in REDHORSE that all they need to get it going.
Ive found that you need to be careful repeating what youve heard to be the truth.  Ive been told that HD has some trash talkers of their own, so which is true, what youve heard or what Ive heard?  Both? Neither?  My point is, you can bet HD thinks Evadale is dirty or trashy and Evadale thinks the same about HD.  SP thinks High Island plays dirty and vice versa.  We hate Buna and they dont like us too much either...and on and on.  Its a lame point to throw what youve heard into the equation, only what you KNOW.  Ill try to be careful to do the same.
 14.
not enough info. don't know if its a ground ball or a ball being thrown to a base or what
I know this is not a baseball thread but, it is enough info.  Doesnt matter if the ball was hit on the ground or thrown, if the ball beats the runner (in a forse situation) the runner is out. The point was, I believe, enforse the rules.
 15.

Much that has been said is NOT true. However, everthing that has been said is NOT UNTRUE. All of you have hit on some issues we as referees are concerned about. First, We do not have an abundance of seasoned officials ready to step in and call "big" games. A "big" game could be a 1A game with the right ingredients. We do have less seasoned refs in 1A games generally because of the lack of good, experienced refs along with all the other classes we serve. Calling ballgames is actually easier than you give us credit for. In fact, as you continue to referee the game "slows" down a bit as you become more aware of what all is going on around you. The big key is for us to keep refs around long enough for them to mature as officials. When we send 1st thru 3rd year refs to do Jr. High and sub varsity games it is not easy to here from fans, coaches and players (and commentors on web sites ;)) what an idiot you are for not calling everything YOU see from the stands. I have never met a basketball referee who wasn't a fan of the game before they became a referee. You are correct that fans see things from the stands that we can't see. However, for the most part, it is better for the guy on the floor to have the whistle. We will NEVER get ALL calls right in any game. We strive to "manage" a game by interupting the flow as rarely as we can. That sometimes means if a player shuffles their feet a little but did NOT gain an ADVANTAGE by doing so we may not call a traveling violation. The hardest thing for a fan to understand is the concept of ADVANTAGE - DISADVANTAGE. The next time you see a play you think should have been called but was not: Ask yourself this question: Did the player gain an ILLEGAL advantage by their action? If there was an illegal advantange then the ref should have called a violation. Lastly, After each of our games (varsity & sub vastiy) the caoches have the opportunity to grade each of their officails in several key catagories. We do have accountability from the ones that matter most! The coach! If you're interested in joining us please contact our local chapter...409-840-6914
Is this the chapter that wears grey jerseys?
LT, you had me won over until your statement concerning Advantage!  If a player travels according to the rule book, then it's sure ADVANTAGEOUS for the other team to get the ball hence stoping the player guilty of traveling (shuffle) from scoring or assisting in a score that trip down the court.  Why not forget the 3 second lane violation, if no ones paying him any attention then theres no advatage, he's just standing there.  (until the guy that got away with traveling hits him with a pass and he scores)
 16.
Did i hit a nerve. ??? ???
I agree with MO on this one....no class.  No one from evadale was talking trash on the cats.  83 isn't even from evadale.  but whatever man, you take yourself too seriously!  we know BS is usually flying high but its tough to be down every now and then.
 17. Hey CATMAN, I know this isn't the thread for this, but is Bville doing well this year or are you guys down a little?  I heard y'all are pretty young this year.
