  1. Pat Fischer is a great Coach and Leader.

Worked for him at Shepherd as a position coach and then as OC.

    He let his coaches coach.

He did not interfere with them.

He gave the information of what needed to be and then it got done.

He is a great manager of the game.

I have the most respect for him for his leadership during the 1993 season.

Suspended 4 two-way starters for conduct detrimental to the team.

Cost us some games and kept us from going to the playoffs; but he stayed true to his ethics and values.

Pat, if you are on here, give me a call.

  2. Should all be passed and the privates join the uil, they should  most definitely follow UIL rules.

Then, when a kid transfers from a Public to Private, the PAPF form must be filled out(even for 8th graders).

IF the school in which the student left from believes the move is for athletic reasons, mark it as so with your justification.

The District Executive Committee can deny varsity eligibility and vote to revisit the same PAPF form for the next school year and start the cycle over.

This could put a squeeze on the "recruiting" process.

  3. The team that is returning the most is Coldspring.  It will be interesting to see how all plays out there in the weeks to come.

Anything can happen.  (injuries, move-ins, move-outs, hurricanes, turnovers, the list can go on).

It all comes down to the chain of events that take place every Friday night and plays being made.

There is good talent in this district.  More so than anyone around wants to give it.

To a different topic, the District looks to be receiving another school in this district.  Kingwood Park may be added to compete in this district in possibly all areas except football, due to the two year contract obligations schools currently have for the home and home.

Could make things even more exciting in 2007 - 2008.

  4. Normally you would say Cleveland would out-athlete Tarkington.

It did not happen tonight.  72--58 Longhorns win.

These young men for the Longhorns are playing with HEART, DETERMINATION AND TEAMWORK, the 3 components to any successful TEAM.

Congratulations to Coach Enloe and the Longhorns.

This District is now Officially a Battle to the end.

Second round will get real interesting.
