  1. Gorilla, hope all is going well with you guys.
I have to answer your question and that answer is yes.
There has been a super bowl mvp given to the losing team.
Chuck Howley for the Dallas Cowboys in 1971 won the award in which they lost the game to the Baltimore Colts 16-13.  I know this because it was a controversial game in which the colts won over the Cowboys.  BTW, I am still a Cowboys fan.
  2. As explained in the rules meeting at coaching school it is a safety issue.  The issue is not the wedge block itself on the return team, as is the "wedge busters" on the kickoff teams.  Players are going in and giving up their body to do whatever to destroy the block.  Injuries were occuring from the wedge buster and not the wedge.  So, in order to get rid of the wedge busters, you have to get rid of the wedge block.

Double Team blocks are still legal unless a third return team member comes within " 2 " yards of the double team block and can then be flagged for a "wedge".  Penalty is flag at where the infraction occurred and then mark off 15 yards.

if the official throws the flag on a wedge block at the -10, then bring the ball back to the -10 and mark off half the distance.  First down on the -5.  GREAT PLACE TO START A DRIVE, HUH?
  3. I'm asking here among colleagues because this could affect us all.
Heard a rumor from a friend that the Federal Government has a bill out there that if passes, it would take over total funding of Education in Texas.

This would NOT be a good thing.

Has anyone else heard this and can you shed some light on this?

  4. Has anyone heard of the new mandatory safety Power Point all athletes are supposed to watch before they can practice in any sport? This is supposedy just came out on Thursday or Friday. I looked on the UIL, THSCA, TGCA and TEA websites and they do not have it listed. If this is true, where can the information be found?

    Thanks
