Oh wow....i said 106-58...i guess they were upset from the celebration lastyear on there court at the end of the game
#15 went over to Lumberton student section - made some motion and said something - i think like lumberton coach did last year in that section - not sure
some kids got offended - but police there to make sure nothing happened
-
-
looks like most starters just pulled
-
he’s not missing any 3s
-
Silsbee better team no doubt
and going into game i would say no one thought Lumberton could win.
So why get home town officials.
if officials left and let kids call their own fouls, Silsbee would still win.
if official called right, Silsbee would still win.
but embarrassing to see so many fouls allowed, slap in face, knock down, pulling jersey - just call obvious fouls as you are paid too
and before you trolls start - i don’t give a F—k who wins, i am not from Lumberton
i want good game, safe game, injury free game

Silsbee beat OF 101 to 70, i did not see game so not sure if Silsbee pulled dogs off.
OF and Lumberton looked pretty similar - Lumberton did have a starting point guard sit entire 2nd period and 4 min in 3rd period and fouled out early in 4th period - during time on court he accounted for about 28% of pts scored - 13 pts - have stay out of foul trouble.
we know Silsbee will press - Lumberton has had some lows against press (Nederland, HF, Santa Fe, Lcm)
does Silsbee press all game - pay back for last year - or they pull dogs off
I think you see similar score as OF game
Silsbee 105 to Lumberton 75

Looked like HF, Livingston, and Anahuac played good ball at this tournament. How did Jasper and Lumberton end up?

It has been stated earlier in this thread that Silsbee Varsity players did not practice or play any games for two weeks before that game. If memory is correct not all players where back and regular starters rotated more often than normal because of the effect of covid. A full Silsbee team did beat lumberton in lumberton three weeks before by 14 points. Lumberton got lucky the second time around last year.
well honestly last year is last year and it really does not matter anymore - Lumberton won - but Silsbee went further in the playoff - end result Silsbee proved out to be better team for 2020/2021 season
the season is all about only getting to playoff - then once in playoffs to win state
if you are just happy making playoffs - probably should find something else to do
This year Silsbee is started at proving to be the better team - but you have to play ball - if i'm Silsbee, i come out pressing from start to finish and when smoke clears - leave no doubt for the bench warmers on this computer to talk about

Lumberton has a first team all-district post player from last year that is hurt on the bench right now and another kid that started for them last year and this year but he broke his wrist. Those guys were starters last year.
because you was first team all district don't mean you really was that awesome. i know that you know that. sometimes you get the nod just cause who your daddy is.
but yes the post is a good player - he is no Brock, is no superstar, and at best is a slightly above average player. he will never take over the game, dominate and create a win.
the other guy is a starter, that's about it. above average ability, just average skill set, and below average mind set for the game

Nobody took him out of his game last year.
several teams doubled up Brock and he scored well below is average
but other players stepped up and contribute enough for close win
-
yea he played a quarter and 1/2
-
like them or love them Silsbee is a good team and team to beat.
Lumberton struggles against the press - and if i was a betting man - Silsbee gonna put some press on them
Nederland, HF, Santa Fe, and LCM (for about a minute until they started playing games) all put press on raiders and allowed many points to get counted and a Lose when final buzzer sounded
-
no superstar in the bunch
now a good group of guys that once 100% healthy and playing as team
can win some games and at best finish 2nd in district
unless covid crashes Silsbee
-
on floor you have 3 guards that have been playing and each has different contributing factors
thats the main 6 there
-
who is star player on the bench?
i would say lumberton has no star player
they have two big guys (6'4" and 6'3") on side that can greatly help with lack of size underneath - neither a star - one was a starter last year, other got minimum playing time
you have a 6'2" forward that at time plays great and at other times cant get the coach off his A....
thats 3 hurt guys on bench
-
also when you have a star, you can become one dimensional when you are playing a team sport
Brock was a good player but good teams took him out of his game and either won or had opportunities or win
