The pre season talk was that the DL and LB’ers were going to be better this season. The secondary has been a weak area since Spell retired I watched the entire game and the OL was not very good at all . The QB was having to bail out on most pass attempts, so the OL has a long way to go The defense was about as bad as you can get. There was absolutely no pressure on the WOS QB. The DL and LB’ers are slow and do not tackle well and the secondary is still an issue. The worst part was very poor tackling, being out of shape and they simply gave up the last 11 minutes of the 4th quarter. Tackling and being out of shape is mainly due to poor coaching. Totally shutting it down in the 4th quarter is mainly on the players. If they don’t fix those areas soon , they will most likely give up 40 plus a game This is my opinion from my observation of the game

I think Lumberton fans are fixing to realize that the head coach doesn’t know much about football He had 2 nice seasons due to a good QB and receivers. I look for a 3rd place finish and 1 and done in playoffs

Yes I certainly see a major problem. I understand that there is not a whole lot of talent on the team, however they walk on and off the field, with little enthusiasm . You take a 4th quarter lead 34-22 and then completely shut it down is a telling sign of some bad football to come IMO, it appears that the players are being poorly coached and the possibility that they don’t want to play for this coaching staff IMO, last year and this year will be 2 of the worst teams in the history of Nederland football. They still have 6 teams on the schedule that are better than WOS

I take it that you didn’t watch the game or the 4th quarter The Bulldog defense didn’t show up in the 4th quarter and didn’t appear that they wanted to! I can do without the idiot remark. You also need to learn how to read a post. It said very little desire. If they do want to win, they must be way out of shape and fundamentally unsound, because the WOS QB made them look like we’re standing still or he just ran over them like they were still in junior high

After watching the Bulldog defense, PAM will probably score about 50

The Bulldog offense is improved from last year. I was hoping for 3-7, but after watching one of the worst defenses I have seen in a long time, I am afraid it is going to be 2-8 again The defense is slow and tackling is about as bad as you can get, but the really bad news is in the 4th quarter, they showed that they have little desire to win As far as the coaching staff goes, you are down 40-34 with about 3 minutes to go and you run east and west, then up the middle, then decide to throw on 3rd and about 7 I do not know who coaches the offensive line or the defensive coaches, but I can tell you that they are not getting the job done

Are you sure the Astros are in great shape. They may have a tough time getting 90 wins this year. Just don’t have very good starting pitchers as of late

The last 2 wins have been nice They have hit better the past 2 nights and Verlander did a nice job last night. They need to keep it up. They can’t afford 2 good games and 2 bad games. They are only 1/2 game out of 1st, but also are only 1 1/2 out of 7th

You are correct, so they don’t have many left, so they better get to playing some good baseball quickly

Wow AggiesAreWe, the Astros are really playing well. A little over a month left. If they continue to perform like these last 3 games that were at home, your prediction may not happen

That is correct but they are now struggling hitting with men on base and starting pitchers are beginning to struggle and Baker leaves them in too long hopefully they will turn it around

Astros keep playing like the last 2 nights and they will be 7th seed in about 3 weeks

Talked to a couple of officials that did the WB Nederland scrimmage They said they were 2 weak teams and would be lucky to win 2 games this year and that the Bulldog players played so dirty that they would probably get about 150 yards in penalties per game Appears that WB and Big Ned is going to have 2 miserable seasons from what the officials said

Do not be surprised if this happens The Dogs have not looked very good in the 2 scrimmages

These teams will most likely beat the Bulldogs PAM,PNG, FBM, Dayton, TC, and Silsbee WOS and SF questionable should win vs GP and FBW

WOS outcome will determine if the Dogs win more than 3 games

I say Silsbee will win district, however they will not make it to state

Obviously many of you posters did not read that post correctly It came out relievers instead of receivers, I said sorry receivers in the following post because it had been misspelled Even though at this early stage of the season the receivers are struggling, I did not say they were sorry I have said many times 3-7 or 2-8 this season. If the season turns out better, I will be the 1st to say I was wrong and I hope I get to say that The reason I say 3-7 or 2-8 is because I do not see them beating these teams this year - PAM, FBM, Dayton, PNG, TC, Silsbee The 2 questionable games are WOS and SF They should beat GP and Willowridge IMO they do not have the talent to win these games based on what each team has coming back and last years miserable performance I believe they will be better than last year, however the wins won’t improve, but they won’t get blown out like last year

I missed the 6 th seed, however they lost ground on the Rangers and the way they have played the last 2 games they still May finish 6th. They were 1/2 game out after beating Texas. What are they now? 3 or 31/2, so I wouldn’t get too chippy. They are not closer to the 2 seed and you are possibly the one that may not know what you are talking about

This was simply my observation of the scrimmage. A few posters indicated that they had a good scrimmage and I agree that they have improved a little from last year, but IMO they have a long way to go in order to win this season. The realistic comment was for the posters that think I am putting players down. I have mentioned where their main weaknesses are, but have said nothing about any players. I am stating that they don’t have much talent this year. I know that Nederland supporters don’t like this, but IMO this is a fact I applaud the Bulldog supporters wanting the team to do well. I want them to do well also, however I am going to be realistic in my observation of the season outcome for the Dogs

Astros have not looked good the last 2 games. Should have been a 2-1 loss, but Baker left Valdez in too long. Appears that they will be a wildcard this year
