I wouldn't call him smooth in QB terms but he is a great athlete which is why Coach P will probably switch him to RB like he did with Reggie Branch at Crosby after he played QB for a couple of years. It may be a blessing in disguise for him since he was probably going to be recruited as an "athlete" versus a QB anyway. He may still transfer if his feelings are hurt and he's dead set on playing QB like a couple of transfers we lost from the '27 class were I think he'll probably end up liking whatever role Coach P carves our for him in the offense. Coach P and Coach Poth(DC) get kids to college.

I was going to say Foster would make a great RB or WR. I see him being switched to one of those 2 positions. From what I saw last year he is more of a runner than a passer so the transition to one of the other positions should be a good thing for him and the team all together.

Yes, that was my son. He actually slipped when he was trying to run back. It happens. You have big plays and you miss some. I don't think the ONE play caused a whole game to shift. If that was the case when he stripped the ball from someone's hand and the next play we scored a touch down that would also be a shift in the game. I'm proud of my sons hard work this season. I'm proud of this team. They fought as hard as they could.

Agreed. Hearne had a hell of a season for the Dayton Broncos when he stripped that ball the fans went crazy. He is a hell of an athlete and I wish he had a couple more years in Dayton. We are all proud of the kids for what they did.

You should apply to be a coach. I bet the current staff would be mesmerized with your insight. In all of my years, I have never considered "establishing a run game in order for the passing game to work".

Perhaps they could work on blocking? tackling as well?

I mean yeah if you want to get technical they could work on tackling. If you were at the game last night you saw exactly what happened when they actually utilized Vernon. And of course when they were moving the ball with ease if you would have looked on the side line coach Ware took over the play calling for those drives and did exactly what everyone in the stands knew needed to be done to move the ball. And as far as coaching I’ll stick with coaching the youth to many people to answer to at the high school level.

  4. I feel for all of the seniors that played their last game tonight. This years Broncos had tons of potential but for some reason we didn’t utilize the talent. I get we had some awesome receivers. But you have to establish a run game in order for the passing game to work and we had a kid that could possibly have been one of the best running backs in the state and for some reason we didn’t utilize him. Every time he touched the ball it was an easy 20-30 yard gain. But I think he maybe touched the ball 6-8 times tonight.

I don’t know if he made some one mad so they were proving a point, maybe he is hurting so they tried to easy up contact on him. But either way if he isn’t touching the ball why wouldn’t we utilize Campbell a little more that boy can run that ball with the best of them. We also have the young running back #22 that can run when needed. But for some reason we decided to throw the ball into double coverage, into the wind on one of the wettest and windiest games we played all year.

  5. If it is blocked and never crosses the line of scrimmage either team can advance the ball.

now if it is blocked but passes the line of scrimmage only the defense can advance the ball, if it’s an extra point the offense can pick the ball up but it’s then a dead ball and the extra point is no good, if it is a field goal attempt and it is blocked but passes the line of scrimmage it is then considered a punt and the kicking team can down the ball wherever they touch it at.

Dayton & Brenham have a long history together in the playoffs. Old rivalry with both fan bases going back and forth having fun.

I always enjoyed playing Brenham win or lose they are alway a great fan base, very friendly, and the smack talk is always fun.

My two favorite playoff opponents have always been Brenham and PNG. 2 of the best fan base ever. I feel like we used to always end up playing Brenham in the playoffs.

With that being said, I think Dayton made them look much better than they really are. Certainly didn't have the look of  their ranking. IMO

Agreed. Most of our defense forgot how to wrap up, fort bend marshal started with great field position on almost every drive due to very questionable punts/ a very confusing kick off or onside kick if that’s what they were trying for. On offense our difference maker last night was stevens but he hardly got the ball thrown his way not sure why you wouldn’t stick with what is working.

He plays both ways - I think they were resting him for the  second half.H e did get the almost winning  52 yard TD 4TH  quarter.

I understand he plays both ways but they haven’t gave him rest all season so why start against one of the best teams in the district. I’m not saying they should have gave him the ball every down but even then if you want to rest him switch him and Campbell out at running back and run the ball. Campbell is just as capable of the big plays as Vernon is so why not utilize ur running backs instead of waiting until the 4th quarter and ur down by 2 possessions?

Show me where any PNG fan said it would be a cakewalk? Did you read my comment? Stop assuming every poster that don’t agree with you is a PNG fan and supporter.

Read my last post. I corrected myself. Not all png fans have said it but I have seen quite a few say well Dayton hasn’t played anyone making it sound like they think it will be an easy win. Yes I read your post and no I’m not going to go back to any previous post to show you what png fans have said. I was just trying to figure out why the ones that keep saying “but y’all haven’t played anyone” keep saying that.

I think the PNG fans are some of the most realistic fans on this forum. I enjoy when we play png I like getting to see all of the purple on both sides. Once playoffs hit I usually try to attend as many PNG games as possible I loved the atmosphere of PNG football. With that being said good luck every game except for this one only because y’all picked us for homecoming even though y’all played willow ridge before us. Lol.
