No it didn’t hurt them. Yes loosing any good player year after year puts any team in a rebuilding stage. If you watched the game and understand play calling you would have noticed you can’t call the same plays and not make adjustments. Everyone so focused on the players they don’t see the coaching staff has changed too.  Those boys are still talented and can play just as good as those that left. Coaching and play calling also plays a BIG factor in any game. New OC. Did not make adjustments. He call the same plays. That was the difference in that game.

Gilmer is a good team too, lets not ignore that fact

As a follow up to this... I’m nowhere near qualified to call football games... but I honestly might commit to working on the chain gang for a season. I’ll bet there are others that feel the same way. Where would someone go to see what’s available?

If you could get a 3 man crew together, that can commit to the home games for the season ... most schools would be happy to take you right now. Most schools in the area have to pay for an extra crew of officials to do it, and you don't have to have officials doing it until the playoffs. Contact whoever at the school that gets officials for the games and let them know. I don't know about every school but the AD usually gets them for the smaller schools.

Or if you want to get paid

Last year, the Raiders held up pretty good against the Tigers run attack.  The game got a little lopsided only after the Tigers started throwing jump balls over our corners.  I don't see that strategy working for the Tigers this year, but the Tigers also look better at running the ball this year.  I anticipate this being about a 2 hour game with the clock never stopping and the winner being whoever can stop the other team's running attack.  Either way, I think it will be low scoring and a close game.  Good luck to both teams and I pray both teams come out of it injury free.

Evadale moved the ball a bit on Lumberton and completed most of their passes. Evadale's defense couldn't line up with (or play with) Lumberton.  If Evadale's offense could do that what do you think Silsbee is going to do. "Them Tigers be comin" - old Lumberton proverb

Cleveland is growing quickly too, how is that working out for them?

"Growing quickly" does not mean "they have a lot more talent".

I am not saying Splendora wont win, I actually think the could blow Liberty out, I just do not see this one being a close game, no matter the winner.

I'm with you, Liberty takes this one if they don't make any big mistakes.

Name the school official.  Because the e-mail that was sent out to staff and students didn't have the word "indefinitely" in it nowhere.  The Beaumont "Suprise" Enterprise use the word "indefinitely"...

And I don't think I would have told you to use Google if I didn't already know the difference...

I was told not to include his name.
