  1. Sure they did, and are now coming home because the situation has improved πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Doesn't matter, because they live in the district and was going outside of it for opportunities. Good coaches tend to change the outlook for athletes who are seeking opportunities. Go figure
  2. Now you're showing your lack of knowledge. Coach Rideaux was assistant coach at Central when they went to back to back state appearances and had some of the best players in the state. All of which went to D1 colleges and graduated or are about to. He then went to Lumberton last year after Ozen and Central combined and helped that team reach the playoffs for the first time in forever! Now he comes the HF as the head coach and makes history again. The guy is a great coach and knows the game on all 3 levels.
  3. Because BISD had better coaches? That's pretty obvious. The modern day athlete isn't like the one of old. You guys are kind of showing your ages πŸ˜‚. Recruiting is a combination of classroom and coaching connections. You can be a great academic school, but for an athlete you need that and a coach that can make phone calls that colleges will answer. Most would prefer both which is why many have transferred to HJ and EC over the years.
  4. Why would he have to when his reputation proceeds him?
  5. So what you are saying is that you don't like the coach and the new students at HF? πŸ€” You honestly think schools who hire good coaches don't attract talent and retain the talent they have? The problem is really that you don't like Coach Rideaux and that's evident, but the hundreds of folks that crowded the gym and thousand that followed them in their two playoff games think otherwise πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. HF is an open enrollment campus and can accept kids from outside the district just like HJ can. They have their stipulations and grade requirements for these students that apparently are being followed. I know for sure that many of the new faces actually live in the district and was actually attending other schools outside of it. With the hiring of Coach Rideaux, they simply transferred to the school they are zoned for. Are you making the accusation that these kids aren't smart and are in some way bypassing HF standards because of sports? πŸ€” I know for sure one kid that is looking to transfer there next year is National Honor society and will graduate top of his class sooooo.....
  6. Also if you know anything about NCAA rules and recruiting, you have to graduate from an NCAA approved high school. That could be the main reason for moving to an ISD now. UIL wouldn't interfere with a kid moving to be eligible for a scholarship by the NCAA.
  7. Lol, the only difference is this kid isn't coming from another UIL school and family already lives in the district! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ He's just deciding to finish his high school education at an ISD school.
  8. They only thing HJ and Huffman going to do is make false accusations against HF all before district start because the team they will gave next year will be dominant. They might be getting this areas best kept secret next year. If they do, it's a wrap!
  9. HJ and Huffman will be solid teams as always, but what HF has coming back along with what may be possibly joining them? That district is about to be shook up for sure and some folks in their feelings! πŸ˜‚
  10. Your judging based on past HF season's. New Coach = new program and change. They will play Silsbee for sure. Also Silsbee will be in a rebuilding season. Those top names aren't there anymore so the invites to previous tournaments will not be there next year. They will play more local I'm sure to give their young new team time to build confidence. Top Tournaments do not invite schools, they invite top players. The school they are at just receives the benefit of it. Silsbee has had the benefit of having some of the best players in the state and country the past 3-4 years. They have to rebuild now with all of them gone. Player name recognition is what garners invites, not school name.
  11. Of course they will, maybe once or twice. The coaches will work it out before district or they will meet in a tournament somewhere. They'll play each other though I'm sure.
  12. Possible, HF needed to win more then Silsbee did at that point to make the playoffs. They made adjustments, Silsbee didn't in the second game. Next year will be a little different with Silsbee rebuilding and HF returning all their players.
  13. You having an issue with HF and its newly found success is still debatable, they did play Silsbee tough which showed the adjustments that needed to be made which they did in the second meeting.
  14. Yes, Duke projected 3 seed, Virginia I believe will be a 2 seed. But we both know that don't always matter in the Tournament. Virginia is a little deeper then Duke. Duke has more talent in their starting.
  15. Wrong? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Everything I said is based on the future season. I was only wrong on Coach Pace. Unless you gave a crystal ball or time machine
  16. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚come back to haunt me? Dude this is an opinionated forum, none of us know exactly what will happen just our opinions based on what we believe. Lol
  17. Take it how you want. Apparently you have a specific problem with the HF program's turn around or maybe just Coach Rideaux. Either way, everything I said will show next year. I thought Coach Pace was still there, that's my mistake, as yours will be shown next season if the Lord says the same and you see it
  18. Virginia is a recent national champion and duke has been bounced early the last few years. Things change my friend when a school finally gets a good coach and a couple players. Also HF is open enrollment. Any kid can go there so nothing illegal going on there if that's what you are trying to say
  19. Wining by 3 is barely winning my friend regardless of whether you lead the whole game or not. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  20. Then I stand corrected, I thought he was still there. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  21. My answer didn't follow your quote, but I gave one
  22. If you're that much better then someone, then you beat them both times. Also what's the excuse in the first game? HJ barely won. Silsbee can argue those semantics due to the first meeting, but not HJ. Also it's all about adjustments on the coaching level. Being down one player shouldn't make a difference 8f you're that much better
  23. I dont believe he's coaching the team, just involved. He took time off from coaching for family. But you never really stop coaching. I like coach Pace, he's a good guy just took the job at the wrong time in life last year. What does that matter?
  24. If you're that much better then someone, then you should be able to beat them under those conditions. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
