Any other movement in SETX?

The time of former coaches making it into high positions in the school system has come to an end which is bad for athletics. Majority of the upper admin has turned into academic people, their goals are different.

Definitely not true. I believe she is a control freak and wants to be in charge of every aspect and doesn't actually know who a good fit for BU would be. She just wants someone there who says the right things to her and won't challenge her on what she wants done.

Unbelievable.

A big part in the decline of people going to school for teaching is because people are going to school and getting lets say a Finance degree or any other degree. Then going through an alternative certification program which it not hard at all and you have your degree to fall back on if teaching isn't for you anymore.

Basketball? You're talking about basketball?! Come on now, we don't have time for that. They just need to get that Beaumont Bowl made into a statue at The Brook because it's never leaving 8750 Phelan! All kidding aside, I like the players at BU too. Always were great kids when I was around them and yes you guys are better at bouncy ball lol

AND lets be real, it doesn't matter who BU gets because they won't ever beat WB! #BGOE

My fault, I'll clarify. I simply used BU as an example since they are the ones looking for a HC. I was meaning BISD as a whole when it comes to coaches meaning both WB/BU. Yes it is a coaches CAROUSEL but if you want to be technical, the majority of coaches salaries come from teaching. At least last time I checked my pay stud. I'm aware HC don't teach classes but all of their assistants do.

For the record, I loved the kids I was able to work with during my time in BISD, my problem is with the way the schools are run. My original comment was about admin, not the kids.

Would love to hear an explanation on this considering a large number of teachers/coaches leave the district every year despite being one of the higher paying districts in SETX.

I've worked in BISD before, a lot closer to this situation than you think.

Interested to see who United brings in....whoever it is will be out in less than 3 years. BISD will be a revolving door until admin gets the school culture fixed.

I’m sure the coaching staff spent all last weekend and week away from their families coming up with a game plan to lose the game. WRONG. I spent the last 2 years as apart of this coaching staff and I can tell you that the guys on that staff are some of the best men and coaches your kids could be around. From what I’m seeing, the team had an off night and that happens. Seems like more people are mad that WB has the chance to be successful in the playoffs again. I’m not from Beaumont but WB is my school now and good luck to my boys and this coaching staff. Hope I get to a playoff game. BGOE
