    ouch!....

But If Wax Life takes down Silsbee just like the 2008-2009 Jasper Bulldogs.

The following game outcome for Wax Life would be just the same as the 2008-2009 Jasper Bulldogs with a 10+ or more defeat.

Silsbee or Yates will go to State.

The Back2Back Champs will not loss to Wax Life.  If work permits I'm planning on being in Huntsville for the 6:15 game and leave by 9:15, Silsbee should have the game won by then.

  2. This game should be over with my the half.  Huffman struggled against Furr, winning by only 5 points.  This is the same Furr Team that gave up 116 & 101 points to Jack Yates this year.  I attended several Furr's games this year and they are very bad, and for Huffman to win by only 5 should say something about this Huffman Team.  Silsbee should dominate and win with no problem by 60.  Silsbee's defense should hold Huffman to under 50 tonight.

Just facts. Yates beat Washinton twice in district. All blow outs. Yates beat a 2nd place team from Silsbee district barley by 11. It was mich closer than that. Silsbee and Yates will be a good game. Yates has some kids that can go and so does Silsbee.

Point clearly made, I'm only saying keep it real on the Silsbee Threads.  Silsbee competition has been very pathetic to say the least.  Silsbee is Back2Back Champs for a reason.

Washington was horrible and I mean horrible!!

lol, Washington isn't a good team, but I also watched Bay City play and they also are not a good team.  I don't recall anyone saying how horrible Bay City was when they lost to Silsbee???  So far Silsbee is taking care of business by whipping to Very Horrible and I mean Horrible Teams.  I look forward to seeing Silsbee and this Monster Team in Huntsville this weekend, if it doesn't conflict with the 6A games in H-Town.

China Springs is solid as wel as Palestine. I see Silsbee vs Palastine to go to state. Silsbee has 5 ball handlers on the court at all times. Not sure Argle makes it to state. 4A is very deep in Region 2. Luckily only one can make it.

So who do you predict to play Silsbee now sense Palestine did not make it out of the Area Round of the Playoffs???

One thing to remember when playing teams like us,  there are a lot more possessions for a team to score more points than most games.  However we definitely need to play a little better defense on the back side of the press.  Too many easy buckets.

I haven't seen Silsbee play this season,  it appears that Silsbee plays an up tempo style of basketball, put pressure on the ball, force turnovers that lead to easy points and outside shooting 3's.  That style of play sounds so similar to the Old Wheatley Glory Days and the current Yates style of play.

For a few weeks now I have been asked by many people on what I think about the Silsbee/Yates match up. My answer has been the same each time. I'm not that worried about Yates. Are they capable of beating Silsbee? Yes. But they are not the team that concerns me the most. Like I have stated before, it's teams like Argyle, Decatur, Palestine, China Spring, Wilmer-Hutchins and such that really concern me. They are very capable of slowing Silsbee down enough to cause problems and defeat Silsbee. Yates, well they do what Silsbee wants you to do, play up tempo and give up easy baskets. You don't have to shoot lights out to beat Yates. Take care of the ball, defend, make free throws.

Hardin-Jefferson played exactly like they were coached up to do and played a heck of a game. They stuck to their game plan and almost pulled off the win. Had they tried to get in a track meet with Yates, they would have lost by 30. Yates getting hot from three line in 2nd half along with HJ losing a couple of players due to foul trouble was the difference.

I'll take Clay Davis with his game planning and in-game adjustments over Greg Wise and his stubborn will of only playing one way everyday and twice on Sunday.

Clay Davis with his game planning and in-game adjustments is now a fan.  Greg Wise is preparing for another playoff game.  Hey you don't have to worry about Palestine.
