I don't know about a 'different year in 20-4A'. It will still be a hold on to your seats until the last game type of year just like the last few have been. As for the four teams to the playoffs, I think that had something to do with producing more money or something.

Well, it is easier for our O-line to block on a pass vs running. Plus we are now running the shotgun so the QB is already dropped back with a little more time to make his reads. The whole dayton vs Lum scrimmage is online and posted on this forum if anyone wants to get a preview of whats to come. I will say this tho, we have a quick back up QB too that looked really good as well so hopefully we can keep both of them fresh for a good long run towards playoffs. Our offense will find its groove and things should start opening up. Good luck to all teams!

You know, what really gets me is how competitive all the 20-4A teams have gotten. It used to be the same story year after year with the mid county teams always staying on top. I am really glad that now it is anyones game to take the district crown. It makes it that much more interesting because they are all pretty much on the same level, it just gives me goosebumps thinking about it. SETX HS football at it's best!

West Orange-Stark (12-1) The District 21-3A school has two Oklahoma-bound players in Trey Franks and James Haynes. Both play wide receiver and defensive back. 2. Vidor (5-4) Vidor returns 18 starters and has an offensive line that averages 280 pounds. The big boys up front should allow the running game to be successful. 3. West Brook (7-2) The junior-heavy Bruins return 22 lettermen. Coach Craig Stump calls this season's team the most athletic he's had in five years at the school. 4. Lumberton (8-2) The two-time defending District 20-4A champs will look for three this year as it returns 11 starters, including standout linebacker Anthony Beard 5. Well you better bring your A game because he will run it right up the gut all nite long if he has too! He is a tough kid! He will only be a junior this year so I expect to see some key improvements made compared to his play last year.

I heard this was coming last year, Babin wants to get closer to Austin from what I hear. Not an issue at all tho, we will be right on schedule.

HA! Well just a little history rewind for ya....last year's game played at HF, BTW the place was way to small I had to sit on the home side...Lumberton was pretty rusty when I seen them last year having plenty of turnovers and HF moved the ball unexpectedly on the Ltown D. It will be a test not to have a few errors trying to get things in rythm, but Lumberton should take this one.

I heard that Nederland's Def coach doesn't get much of a say so in which players he chooses to play defense, he just has to work with the ones that he gets. All the good players get put on offense and leftovers play defense. I don't know if it is 100% correct but I have a pretty good resource.

Is Asher going to be the feature back now that Hanna has moved on, and I hear Beard will be mostly defense this year. Im just curious if we got some newcomers that can keep going what we had in the backfeild for the past two years. Nothing against Asher because he plays 110% everytime he gets the ball and I know he can get the job done, just curious if we will have someone to help carry the load.

We had the same topic for the '08 class...I don't recall many people being correct either. Point is that 20-4A is full of talent and it really is to unpredictable. It will probably come down to the last game just like it did this year.

Recruiting kids from somewhere else is the reason the last Lamar team didn't make it....Im sure they are trying to bring in local kids that way they may actually get some people in the stands. They may go out and get a few kid from other areas as long as they don't get carried away with it.

Yes, that's true. He's already back and as far as I know will be playing football at Lamar in 2010. I saw him at the West Brook vs Dickinson game. Is Hussey going to be offered a scholarship or be coming in as a walk on?

I agree with this but want to add that L-Town also needs to get a few passes off like they did against Nederland, I believe we had more completions that night than any other game. A few good passes will open up the Crosby defense. Most importantly, for any of you L-Town boys that may be on this forum...........DON'T LOOK PAST THIS GAME!!! The little bit of passing that we got going against nederland was actually a surprise to me...I most definitley would like to see them build on that. Some quick slants is what I would really like to see them try. But that is another add on no doubt..The passing game.
