  1. I agree! Without an Effective passing game you won't get by Lumberton this early in the season. Hopefully LR will improve the Pass Defense through-out the season and get that under control. From what I hear...we may have a little surprise on offense for the Lions.
  2. The hell with stayin home! Im gonna be there, I will sit in the home side with my proud columbia blue Raider T!!
  3. Last in District for stopping the run Hmmm, where did you get your stats info from? I think he is saying that last year, Lumberton was the last team to stop their run. Since then noone has been able to stop it.
  4. If the Lions plan on winning it with there running game...go ahead and hang it up. LR - 21 LL- 10
  5. A team/player can have 1,000 yards in a game, but can they get it in the endzone is what counts! Like I said earlier, individual stats/team stats mean NOTHING!! The final score on the scoreboard is the only thing that matters. I have seen plenty of times in high school, college, and the pros where a player/team puts up good numbers but fails to put the points on the board....that's what it is all about. A team effort to put up the points and stop the other team from putting up points.
  6. Well, District starts next week for 20-4A. Livingston will be paired up at home against Lumberton. It's gonna be a good one! I just hope someone saves me a seat!
  7. And yet Livingston still isn't on the THSF top 25 teams in 4A. Bellville beat Livingston too correct? We don't get much info on here about livingston at all. Only way to see who is on top is to stick around until the end of the regular season play.
  8. Receiving numbers aren't right. How can Lumberton's Hughes be the top passer but not have one receiver in the top. Anyways, I for one don't care about stats at all. The only stat I watch is the number in the W column!
  9. Here is how he has us listed in SETX....no listing for 5A TheOldCoach.com's Southeast Texas Area Week 3 4A Top 10 Rankings 1) Lumberton (3-0) 2) Vidor (3-0) 3) Port Neches-Groves (3-0) 4) Beaumont Central (2-1) 5) Dayton (1-1) 6) Houston King (2-1) 7) Barbers Hill (1-2) 8) Little Cypress-Mauriceville (1-1) 9) Goose Creek Memorial (2-1) 10) Nederland (1-1) TheOldCoach.com's Southeast Texas Area Week 3 3A Top 5 Rankings 1) West Orange-Stark (3-0) 2) Cleveland (3-0) 3) Jasper (1-1) 4) Orangefield (2-1) 5) Silsbee (1-2) TheOldCoach.com's Southeast Texas Area Week 3 2A Top 5 Rankings 1) Newton (3-0) 2) Corrigan Camden (2-1) 3) New Waverly (2-1) 4) Kirbyville (1-2) 5) Anahuac (2-1)
  10. I am willing to bet!! No team this year will go undefeated! Also I predict that the top team in 20-4A will have 2 losses! But only time will tell when the smoke clears...
  11. I think the reason the offense was looking to predictable was maybe the raiders were hoping to expose the Silsbee run defense just the way diboll did the week before, although it didn't go down that way. Maybe coach wanted to keep the ball on the ground so we could prevent turnovers and eat up the clock...I guess we will never know. I have seen the Raider offense do alot more creative plays then what I saw last night, it appears they only had a one page play book. Now when silsbees comes out with 4 or 5 wide and the raider DB's are lining up 10-15 yards away from them just like we did against barbers hill and then our pass defense is exposed on the quick slants and people open in the flats ALL NIGHT LONG!! Get them DB's closer to the line, make a solid bump with the receiver and man up! District will eat us up if our secondary plays like that....and don't say they won't because we already have proof. Yea at times we manage to pull out an interception at times, but it is really a weak area that needs a little tweaking. The raiders front 7 again is terrific in stopping the run and pressuring the QB, at times Johnson was running for his life out there. It wasn't a pretty win and we will take it anyway we can get it, but please work on coming up with something to defend those quick slants and the flats. Oh and Ryan Hughes is a Beast!! That kid will take a hit and keep on truckin! Now it's time to FIRE IT UP RAIDERS!!
  12. Shouldn't be no different here. The L-Train rolls rain or shine baby!!
  13. Silsbee isn't the only school that has this....it is actually all over the place.
  14. Lumberton will take this one by at least 10. The secondary is coming around nicely and the front 7 do a stout job up front. BH had to go to the air to move the ball on us, but it cost them as well. Hey, I know most people only know of AB...but we have some younger LB that are coming around nicely. Our defense will be well prepared come friday nite.
  15. Most irrelevant Vidor thread of '09 Volume 1 series 09
  16. This doesn't sound good. Sounds like coach has a distraction. LTrain gonna edge out a victory here!
  17. You know people can say all they want about "don't under estimate" this team...but the truth is are any of us playing this friday nite? Nope....Im sure both coaches will have their teams pumped, focused, and prepared. Well, I know Coach Creduer will! Good luck to both ;D
  18. Im gonna be at Barber's Hill Eagle Stadium....I hear there is soon to be a train station built right inside the stadium.
  19. Lumberton was playing JV players before the half was done. That sounds like HF's problem, not Lumbertons.
  20. It was good seeing you too. Lumberton is mostly going to depend on it's passing game in order to move the chains. It is obvious that someone has been working with Hughes during the offseason because he really did a good job of spreading the ball and I only noticed a few times when he had someone else wide open for a possible score. I will say this, his weakness appears to be putting some speed on the ball when coverage is tight. If this doesn't happen then there will be problems against most of the district teams. The Raiders Defense will be the strength to this team bringing home the W.
