He also coached at South Park High School, SFA college, and was the AD at SFA.
Glad he seems to be doing better...he also coached at least 1 maybe 2 years as offensive line assistant coach at Lamar.

I am seeing a lot of posters say that the kicker is not holding up his end of the deal.... I could not agree with you more. It's ashame that they let Taylor Trahan slip through their fingers. We definitely would not have to worry about missed field goal attempts!
You got that right.

If Taylor Trahan wouldn't have screwed around he may have made it. Coaches gave him 3 different chances. There is more to that story than everyone is presenting!
Didn't Kahler (punter) and one of the freshman QB's also placekick in HS? I think I remeber the blurb on them when recruited said this. If curent PK is injured [reportedly can not even kick in p[ractice during week due to groin injury] maybe one of these other players could fill in? Just a thought. -

We are missing plays. How do you miss the opening kickoff and a kickoff and the first play of the drive. Get it together please.
Duh. there are no tv timeouts you moron.
so you telling me because there are no tv timeouts you cant time it to where we can see the opening kickoff. I guess im a moron
I was at the game and they did take media timeouts.
At least twice it was third down before they came back to the action...I know they have to cover expenses and hopefully make $$$ on the broadcast, but... -
I cant for the life of me figure out the stupid subject of lamar going FBS. For what? We have had no football for 21 years, now we are back with a great FCS! facility and some good local talent. We can recruit and take athletes from Mcneese and SFA and other schools and in a few years have an opportunity to establish a solid program at the FCS level. We could maybe become like Montana, Appalachian St,and Richmond and have a annually ranked team. In doing so we could have continued local excitement, success, and a full stadium, and compete for a real FCS championship settled on the field.I love texas football at all levels and understand somewhat the desire to play at a higher level , but to what end? Your dreaming if you think lamar could ever recruit well enough to challenge any big schools. What is the purpose of playing on a FCS level and bringing big schools in to play here.yeah that would be great TCU 68 Lamar 3, Texas ATM 51 lamar 10, Uof H 65 lamar 16 baylor 47 lamar 13, yeah that would be great fun. Hey look at us , look what we did, we went FCS and brought in big name schools for all to see, and in our first three years we went 5-31-0. We beat 2 FBS teams and UL monroe, North tx, and Ark state. wow! now the area fans we could have made happy being a solid FCS team now do not care to support a losing program. Complaints begin, meetings are held, football is to expensive and BOOM right back to 1989. No football. Be glad we are back let us prosper at this level in the SLC. Go Big RED.
Excellent...hits the nail right on the head!

Hussey is, but not Hanna. Last I heard Hanna was with West Texas a&m.
Hanna transferred to Lamar to ;)
I also read somewhere that Hanna would not be practicing with the team until classes start this upcoming week? Is this correct? -
Is he not the younger brother of current LU player and Aggie transfer Billy Chavis?

Last I heard was that there was a possibility Mayweather would not take the fight for (1) tax reasons, postponing until next spring or (2) possibility his uncle Roger might be facing jail time. Roger who lost his title in Beaumont 20 years or so ago, helps train Floyd, Jr. Hope they do get things ironed out, but somehow I doubt it.

Bagwell named Astros hitting coach
Spanky replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think this is a good move.
Then had to, it seems, do something. Bagwell is such an icon in the Astros organization that hopefully the hitters will listen to him and they will get things turned around - it it isn't too late. He should also be a good infuluence and mentor for some of the young players. -
Reggie Mathis ,Wesley, E.B Davis, the 3 seniors, will be the open scholarships for next year, Garza and Osas are likely to be the next guys to leave, got this info from an inside source. We talked highly about this athletes last yr b4 they got here, and now they are gone, this will be the same song that we will sing next yr. Something is not right. Why recruit all these talents when you know that your not going to use them???? you can't really tell who is really good while they sit on the bench, wesley really did not got the chance to play, we did not even see Garza and Osas in uniform. some players that were great in this program the last 2 or 3yrs can't make it in the next level, y'all should know who am talking about, and that should tell you something about this program. I feel bad for Mathis coz he is going to his senoir yr and now he's gone and will definitely loose some credits in class wherever he transfers to. That's pitiful!!
If Garza and Osas leave then it seems unlikely to me that the incoming recruit from their same high school will be here... -
When Shane first came here I thought he played well enough early to be a good or great point guard. But I guess injuries and new players over shadowed him.
I think, if I remember right, that he had a fairly serious leg injury that kept him sidelined for what would have been his sophomore year. This must be his first year at Robert Morris; as their website doesn't show him on the 09-10 roster. -

See it announced out of Austin this morning that Ben Wells will be transferring at the end of the spring semester. Any chance he might come back to Lamar?

Did the inside player from LSC-PA sign with James Madison? He could have helped us at the other end of the county, but I believe he was going to James Madison according to a report I saw. Ahyaro Phillips.
