  1. Right name, wrong one! And you’re absolutely correct, it will take several years to turn that program around. The priority is getting the kids back. AGAIN, without a shadow of a doubt, he’s the one who can do it. I’ve seen it—kids would run through a wall if he asked them to for him. Win the kids first, then turn the program around. Without the Joe's, the X’s and O’s don’t matter. But I would love to see them two coaching together! I can assure you wouldn't have very many discipline problem!
  2. By “the right guy,” I mean someone who can get the kids back that chose not to play. Whoever they hire isn’t walking in and winning a state or even a district championship right away. Right now, it’s about getting kids back on the field and rebuilding the program. They had the opportunity to bring Larry Upshaw back, but they passed on it. The program is so far down that it’s not about winning games at this point it’s about winning the kids.
  3. Texas
  4. I’m not sure what will happen, I was just sharing my opinion on who the "right guy" is. Who knows what they’ll do, but I’m sure he’ll stay where he’s at. Still, I’d be trying HARD to get him if they want to get the program back on the right track.
  5. The right person’s season ended Friday night after an incredible playoff run. Without a shadow of a doubt, he is the right man for this job. It’s time to bring in a "hometown" guy who genuinely will care for and love the kids, and who will get those who quit back on the field
  6. Don’t sound like he was much of a starter if his already on “lockdown” and again I don’t that he would/would’ve mad a difference!
  7. Remember the 273 number was two years ago! This coming year is alignment year. We will see.
  8. They might, you know you eagles folks are always right, but I don’t see it. And I heard a lot of kids moved out, went to homeschool, graduated early (which my niece did) and I believe the lower classes were already small. Not many jobs around there. If your moving to Hemphill it’s usually to retire and live on the lake.
  9. Lol check their numbers for yourself! Total as of 1st day of school was 221!!! So, yes “Really” 2A numbers. From 273, which what was turned in (LAST REALIGNMENT) to 221 usually means they DON’T have 3A numbers. JS and no sawolfman SA just flat out beat the heck out of Hemphill and they will be many more whooping to come. Hemphill AGAIN lost alot of talent last year and it will be extremely hard to replace. I will not take anything away from SA. They are on the rise! Hemphill will be 0-4 going into their 1st district game. They have Shelbyville, West Sabine, and Kirbyville left before there district opener against Trinity! Just Keeping It Real 🤷🏻‍♂️, It’s a rebuilding year.
  10. 1st off Hemphill is really a 2A school (purpleeagles) 2nd yes, Hemphill lost ALOT of talent last year. So, it will definitely will be hard to replace that Oh yea, Hemphill’s starting running back did play. Don’t know where they got it from as all Hemphill players played.
  11. Yes WE did, just like YALL did. I have no reason to lie purpleeagle!!!
  12. Apparently you can’t understand, because WE played Center, not Newton, so you didn’t step on my toes. I’m just stating facts, you don’t step on the kids from Hemphill toes by saying they score on y’all 2nd team, knowing y’all still had y’all staters on the field, you guys are not the Newton of the past that were able to put 11 on offense and 11 on defense y’all numbers are down, but I do agree with you Hemphill kids are just as good as y’all kids.
  13. That my friend is not true, on the part where the points were scored on y’all 2nd team. But I understand typical Newton talk.
