  1. Pirates we are very proud of you. You guys had a great season. You accomplished alot. Bryce, Caden, Hunter, Kaine, Michael, Ronnie, Seth thanks for all you have done. We have enjoyed watching you guys play. We wish you all the best of luck in the future. Coach Fletcher, Coach Magee you guys have set a good example for your team. You both have displayed integrity, courage and confidence in your team, as well as in each individual. You guys have given them encouragement in the good times and the bad. We are looking forward to watching and supporting you guys and the rest of our pirates next year!!!!!!!!!

WOW!!! What a great way to sum up a terrific season. You guys overcame a lot of adversity to make it as far as you did. Great job!!!

  2. Is Dewyville that good or is HF that bad?  ???

etbu no need in your negative comments. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs. Neither team really played to their full potential

How pathetic to make a comment like that about any team that has made it this far!!! Both teams are obviously very talented or they would not be in the play offs. Good luck to both teams as they deserve to be where they are.

  3. How is Deweyville responded from this tragic accident?

Everyone is supporting one another to get through this difficult time. All of the sports are back in action and the students are coping as well as can be expected. Please keep the Deweyville students and community in your prayers. It is still hard on all of them to look around and Destin not be there with them in person.

  4. As a loyal Deweyville fan I see nothing wrong with the coaching staff. Many on the staff were new this year and learning to work together as well. The boys were always encouraged to go out and do their best. New things were tried and some worked and some didn't. Like someone already stated earlier, with Deweyville being such a small 2A school is it hard to compete with schools who have 3 and 4 times more boys than we do. It would be nice to move down to 1A and be one of the bigger 1A schools. I really think that our team will continue to improve and Coach McDaniel and his staff will continue to grow and new great things for the Pirates.

  5.   LIGHT POLE?  What light pole?  LOL!  leave it to D-Ville to bring up something quirky!  Have never heard of anything about a light pole from any other team.  Want to explain?

go to the Buna stadium and sit on the visitor side in the stands and there is a light pole that blocks your view when you are trying to watch the game. No matter where you sit it gets in the way at some point. We have never been to a stadium where a light pole is put right in front of the visitors stands. It is just a little awkward that is all. It sucks to miss a good play because the pole gets in the way. With as many pirate fans that are at all games it isn't like you can just move to get the pole out of your line of vision. No big deal. The important thing is supporting the players and cheering them on to victory.

    Home field advantage

LOL a good conversation piece anyway. It is hard to coach from the stands with it in the way. I guess we will leave the coaching to McDaniel Friday night.

  7. #1 Sports Fan, as you did not hide your email address in your profile and by looking at your email address it is VERY obvious as to who you are (and it is not one of the players from the other team), this will be my last reply to this post. As you are the parent of the player you are saying won the game single handedly it is easy to see why you would feel this way. Believe me that I was at that game along with all of the other parents who were out that evening to support our girls as well as being at all of the games I was able to make which was almost all of them. I do believe that these ladies work well together and will be very successful as they embark on their high school athletic career. I just hope that everyone involved can remember that as a team they are stronger than an individual can be. I will be at the games this season supporting all of the girls as they play and cheering for all of them. Thank you and let's hope our girls have a great year in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, and any other sport they join.

  8. it amazes me that someone could actually believe that ONE person on a team could single handedly beat another team. This is a TEAM sport and it takes a TEAM to help one another on the court at all times to achieve a win. If one person could win alone, it would not be a team sport. As usual some need to be reminded that there is no I in team. It is true that there may be a player or players that lead a team but without his or HER team mates they would be no good alone. Maybe those entering high school and or any grade level should remember this philosophy and appreciate their teammates for all of the hard work put in by all involved. As far as Deweyville's freshman are concerned there are a number of very talented players with a lot to offer to all of the Lady Pirate Sports this year. We are truly looking forward to a great and successful year to come.  :)
