I have always thought that the Texas college coaches had some pull in getting there top recruits on the list to bolster there appeal to the alums! [/quote] Travis ain't that big. Travis is 6'3" 195 and I dont know about a 4.6 but he is much more of a run threat than Doty was. From what I hear he is also #1 in the Jr. Class. I am guessing that some think that Peveto will get a look at QB. I heard he played QB at OF before transfering and playing defense this year as a Soph. He is big 6'3" 205 and growing and has good spead as well, but this Junior class has won a lot of football games over the years with T. Miller at QB.

Yankees and Mets have moore revenue because they draw from a TV market of over 20 million! Boston and Philly also have large Media market because of there proximaty to NYC. Chicago and LA are also large media markets (10-15 million). Houston, Dallas, SF Bay area and SD should compete, but most of the other 20+ teams can't.

Finally a guy signs with the team/city he and his family felt most comfortable with! And leaves cash on the table. I hate that the Phills get even better, but Cliff Lee moves up on my list of favorite athletes.

If you plan on signing with a team as a last resort because no one else offers, why tell everyone this?

I wouldn't think that the sitting out another year and having 3 years of eligibility thing would be an issue for him if he still wants to play and showcase his skills at the highest level (FBS). But who knows. I am sure we would all welcome him with very, very, open arms as a Cardinal!!!

Not one of Doty's strengths. He needs to be in a spread O and not a spread option.

Johnson to LU would be a major get and could turn this FB program into an imediate SLC title contender. Just think he will go FBS in TX or LA somewhere. ULL, UNT, UH, SMU.

You have to actually have some speed to be a dual threat QB. Kid runs 5+ second forty on a good day. Good arm. I would say if he plays at LU it will be as a DE. His work ethic will need to change, especially to play QB. Three PNG seniors this year that can play at the next level, be it FBS or FCS, but have heard very little about their recruitment to date: QB - B. Doty - 6'2" 185 lbs OL - G. Lunceford - 6'3" 270 lbs LB - D.J. Schexneider - 6'2" 200 lbs Another is WR A. Jalali - 5'9" 170 lbs, but he will play baseball (kid can hit a ton and is fast on the bases). Maybe an LU diamond recruit!

Boston does the same, but they happen to actually have some home grown talent that keeps them from being in the Yankees annual spending stratosphere. All this does is drives up the prices for the small markets on sub-par free agents. It's killing baseball outside of NY, Bos and LA!  Take a look at what has happened to TB this offseason. Crawford, Pena, Benoit, probably Soriano and Ballfour and others all either gone via FA or on the way out. Just wait and see what happens to one of the best true baseball cities in America in St. Louis if Pujols ends up a Yankee, Met or BoSock

Nicholls is not making any money off of it's home games. LU is. Therefore it is more financially benificial I am sure for LU to play home cupcakes and more financially benificial for Nicholls to play road power conferences. Just my opin! A few years back we had TT in here and ArkSt., BYU, always had Rice. I am guessing next year we will get ULL and Rice at home, maybe even Tulane. That works for me. Be nice to see UH in the Montange.
