  1. Had Nederland AND Vidor lost then yes, it would have made a difference.  If Livingston and Lumberton had gotten the 3 and 4 spot then we would have gone D1 (big school) with Central.  If we would have lost that game with Livingston and Lumberton being 3 and 4, we would have been D1 runner-up.  So, technically if everything had played out differently then it would have been significant in the playoffs.  BTW, I went to the PNG field house after the game for the victory tunnel and even if you didn't know who Dre was or who Zack was, you could have picked them out because of the ear-to-ear grins on their faces!  It was priceless!
  2. Back at PNG after the game, I was told that the man in the stands is going to be ok.   Central, good luck in the playoffs.  Ya'll are one heck of a team and I wish you the best of luck!
  3. and I don't even have a football player.  My kids play baseball.
  4. Go ahead and double-team DJ (if you can find him before he gets the QB) and that will free up Davis for QB sack)
  5. Caleb Harmon's stats ATT      YARDS    YARDS/ATT      TD 217        1467      6.76              15 (he also has 3 passing TDs)
  6. I don't know what the situation is with WOS, but I know some schools also have consequences for moral issues. Several years ago a girl was not allowed to try out for cheerleader at a local school because it was found out that she had had an abortion. That school said that she would be in leadership and would not let her try out. Right? Wrong? I have an opinion, but I will keep it to myself.
  7. At the Reservation, on the jumbotron, a video of a soldier currently serving in Iraq, is played in which he asks people to stand, remove their hats, turn their phones off, and place their hand over their heart. I haven't seen anybody NOT do it.
  8. Way to go guys. Way to represent Nederland, Groves, Port Neches, and Beaumont! We are proud of you!
  9. Nederland Babe Ruth has fall ball for 13-15 year olds. All of the age groups are still playing spring ball (all qualified for regionals), so as soon as that is over I am sure you will be hearing about sign ups for Fall ball.
  10. I soak whites in Oxyclean for 20-30 minutes and then wash as usual. I also put a small scoop of Oxyclean in my wash.
  11. I just got an update on facebook from Latane Rodriguez. Nederland beat Brazoswood 8-0 and will play in the championship tomorrow.
  12. Good luck Kristen, Too bad Leslye is too young to play for you now! Julie
  13. I hope we get an upgrade on just about everything at the baseball/softball fields. Last night there was a softball playoff game between BC and HF. I was at the Freshman/JV baseball games and I overheard one of the BC moms talking. She walked all the way down to the baseball fields to use the restroom because the softball field has an OUTHOUSE. It also has no concession stand, so anybody wanting food or drink had to come down to the baseball field also. She wasn't rude about it, but I was embarrassed. Don't even get me started on the condition of the stands and concession stand at the baseball field. Hopefully we can everything up to the football field's level of excellence before long.
  14. NCState, Why bring that junk over here? That whole thread was deleted. Thankfully! I am on the board at NBRL and unless they were there, nobody knows the drama of that situtation. I felt sorry for the coach and the boy, but what is done is done. Don't let it mar the season. I have my doubts about some of the stuff watup said. Watup (whoever he/she is) doesn't speak for the league, nor do they represent the league. This board is made up of some of the finest parents I know. It is represented by both Nederland and Groves parents. They have the boys' best interest at heart. Trust me, it is going to be a great season.
  15. Let me clarify, my daughter was not pitching, nor has she ever pitched. I am over it, was over it yesterday after I posted. No big deal, moving on.
  16. I know the team got a butt whipping and rightfully so. I have no problem with that. I know the lessons learned, blah, blah, blah. The problem I had was the fact of stealing bases and home on passed balls was extremely catty, in-your-face, what ever you want to call it. The score would have been the same anyway, the girl is a VERY young pitcher that got put in because of an injury and walked 99% of the batters she faced. No amount of batting from the left or whatever would have changed that. I have no problem with a team getting beaten 17-0, 18-2, or 2-0, it was the WAY it was done that I have a problem with. Again, JMO Anyway, I'm done with it. No big deal.
  17. Stealing bases and stealing home on EVERY passed ball is not right. Now I don't know Collins, but I am familiar with Crush ball and was unpleasantly surprised to see this happening. I thought that organization had more integrity.
  18. Congrats on the championship, but I have to say that I was extremely disappointed in the way Collins Crush ran up the score against a new team. The pitcher is a little girl just getting started. She was throwing wild pitches and Crush continued to run on her. The score was somewhere in the 20's to zero. In my opinion, it was a bad example to set. JMO
  19. We have driven from Groves just to get a burger at BCLL
  20. from what I understand Welch has been offered several jobs and Broussard is in the process of interviewing with several school and one former job may want him back. Looks like both men will land on their feet locally.
  21. Coach Kyle Segura was good back in his day, but his son KYLER is playing now.
  22. Don't know if it is possible. I think PNG had to give up a scrimmage in order to practice in the Spring.
