First time I saw that name i thought it translated to mean "the cheese is tasty"--lol--nope to the tree huggin and especially 'NO' to the tackle box..aka kyle field--lmao--u should know better than that...see u guys Friday

Knowing Gov. Palin, she'd probably incorporate the 'GUN' package................moose beware!!!!
OH, 1 more thing, doesn't she realize hockey isn't played all across the U.S.?

One of the biggest hits I ever saw in person was in a playoff game between Hemphill and Mart in 2000. A HUGE Hemph lineman picked up a fumble and evidently figured he was going to ramble for a TD. Quan Cosby had different ideas as he came in like a fricken scud missle and knocked this fella head over heels. It was very much like Quan's hit on that poor OU player on Jordan Shipley's run and catch during last weeks Texas - OU game.

Coach Alvarez prolly has those Kirbyville fellas out running up and down the field drying it with their draft as they go by--I hear those 'KATS are speedy.
-
Am thinking there'd be a great deal of deception in their game plan--lol

I guess Jo Momma could be cheerleader sponsor--
-
IF...John Mccain was Head Coach and Sarah Palin his OC--would Joe Six-Pack be her starting QB and what offense would they run...just wondering--I evidently have way too much time on my hands--
-
Lotta rain down this way...will that slow the 'kats down any? Not sure if the Hornets have the 'mudders' of years past. But ya never know, they may drive up in their 4 - wheelers and make a game of it.What ya think X?
-
Prayers and condolences to the family and Shelbyville community.

grades must have come out--the team in question didnt have enough to play or what...
-
good stuff xquizit---am sure 'ol 3 will be in the stands Friday night--no telling what magically unbelievable plays he might see--
-
Coach Hall has done a tremendous job for the Hornets. As far as not expecting much from Hemphill, that's been the case ever since Coach took over...people having low expectations year in and year out. But he silenced the critics by making the playoffs 3 straight years...which included an undefeated district championship run in 2005.
For the past 10 years, the Hemphill has put out a quality product--coming close to capturing the class 2A State Championship in 2001--only to drop a controversial decision to Blanco in the semi-finals by the score of 28 - 27.
Although a bit unmanned this season, expect a hard fought contest this Friday night in Kirbyville. These kids play with a great deal of heart and will battle 'til the end.
For most here, the outcome of the game has already been determined. Good luck to both teams.

SA 28 - 24. Hemp led into 4th quarter until ball knocked loose on reception by hemp receiver and recovered by SA. Hemp had 1 more opportunity recovering fumble by Sa on the 13 yard line going in. Good ball game--best performance by the Hornets all year. Am going to sound like AGGIE now--wait til next year--lol

Class 2A Region 3 is definately the toughest in the state--Kirbyville, Newton, Arp, Elysian Fields to anme a few--State Champion in both D1 and D2 more than likely comes of of this region..
As far as comparing District 22 and 23---right on about top teams in 22A--kirby and newton...followed by San Augustine, Woodville, Hemphill, and Shelbyville...
Not sure how 23 will play out--long way to go--on any given night the supposed underdog can come out victorious..which has happened in the first 2 weeks of district play---
The best thing for District 23AA is they won't have to play openeing round of playoffs against District 22AA....Bye for all teams in 23AA first round....
Just think how tough 22AA would be if Corrigan was still in this district...looking like Kirbyville and Corrigan first round matchup...

Coach Alvarez has too much respect for Coach Hall of Hemphill to run it up--but the reserves want to show what they are able to do also, so it's difficult to keep the score down at times. I know Hemphill will play hard 'til the tick of the clock.
Am waiting for track season so I can watch Coach Stapert show his hurdling skills--lol
-
Hornets--just run through the tunnel and go to your sideline--learn from Shelbyville's mistake and DON'T tick Kirbyville off by celebrating in the middle of their field before the game begins. LOL
-
Although Hemphill fell a bit short in their district opener, I'm proud of how the Hornets played against San Augustine. This group of kids gave their all and played with a tremendous amount of heart. Coach Hall has done a tremendous job the past few years and the young men that go through his program are the better for it. Good Luck Hornets. Better days are on the horizon.
As for Kirbyville, Coach Alvarez runs a quality program. Good Luck to the Wildcats as they continue their quest for that coveted 'STATE CHAMPIONSHIP'.

silsbee is a little snake bit right now--doing their best to get that elusive first 'w' this season---don't look for it to happen for them this week either---but keep working tigers and y'all will be just fine when district play comes around.
-
not to put the cart before the horse, but....2 HUGE games for buna back to back opening district play--@ ec and home vs kountze---looking for the cougars to be in the driver's seat!
-
is it considered an upset if a smaller classification school beats a higher class. school?
will be a hard fought battle--pray for no injuries on either side so both will be at their best in a few more weeks when the 'REAL' games begin...although, this one is as real as it gets!!!!
-
Both of these teams will make a deep run into the playoffs and possibly bring home state championship trophies in their respective classifications and divisions...
neither coach, nor their teams, back down from any challenge(s)...heck--just look at their non-district schedules...no nancies can be found...good luck to both..expect a great game...
-
close game 'til kickoff--then anything can happen after that--lol--still am going to have to go with the Hornets!!!
-
am thinking by as many as buna wants....
