  1. IMO, he is the best player on that team. Brings the right attitude every night and is a team player not individual. Am I the only one who thinks the AD may have a conflict of interest in dealing with the current coach and issue at hand!!! ???
  2. Good win. While falling short of the playoffs, this PNG team was able to surprise the district and be in the playoff hunt. With Doty and Deron look for a playoff run next year!!
  3. Ozen (Will Jefferson play ???) Livingston (Ref's will make the difference in this one!!) LCM Vidor (Base on point spread only. Nederland will win but Vidor always plays them tough! Senior night emotion!!!) Orangefield Hamshire-Fannett(Silsbee wins, just not by 51; If I were in Silsbee's shoes I would try to get some players some rest prior to making playoff run.) Hardin-Jefferson Anahuac East Chambers Kountze
  4. Give me a break... None of those kids are better than the freshman at central or the Boyd kid at Ozen... As of late the Boyd kid has been playing really big. Either one of these kids would be all world at Lumberton, LCM, PNG, Nederland, Vidor, or Livingston! First off, these are young men about to graduate not kids anymore! You have your opinion and I have mine. I would venture to say we are both a little biased. I guess I am trying to give credit to the team play of this group because on any given night they have stepped up or else Nederland would not be in the playoff hunt. I only saw Central once and that was the loss to Nederland. The freshman didn't play much so I can't really give him a fair assessment and Bond simply gets overshadowed by the top three for OHS.
  5. 1.Breon Johnson-Ozen 2.Willie Jefferson-Ozen 3.Jamar Gulley-Central 4. Dustin Harris-Livingston 5. Decarlos Franks-Ozen (This kid is may the best in the area but attitude gets in the way) 6. Dionte Forney- Nederland(Still young.....Will move up as he gains in experience and consistency) 7. Jared Williamson-Vidor (If he played for a different team that allowed him to play the 2 or 3 he would be higher but is not able to truly show his ability due to team needing him at point.) 8. Travis Weathersbee-PNG(He has helped a pretender become a contender this year.) 9. Chris Hammond-Nederland (Talented but is living on history. His performances in the previous two years were far more impressive than this years performance.) 10. Francis Torres, Josh Dean, Jordan Pitts, or Evan Fitch.(I'm not sure which one goes here, but each of these guys would be the star for LCM, PNG, or Lmberton as wellas contribute on the other teams in the district. They have each made contributions to Nederland's success this year but don't get the credit of Hammond or Forney.)
  6. OK! What are the consequences for the students? Can adults for bring in posters or dry erase boards? This is pretty pathetic. I haven't seen anything out of line by the Dome Dummies at the 5-6 games I have attended. Just a lot of spirit and fun. Has it gotten to the point that any mention of a players name is unsportsmanlike. If so, don't attend an H-J, LCM, Lamar,....... game.
  7. I don't think it was bashing but you have the power to decide if it was. You are correct I do. Calling a coach out by name and accusing them of their negatives is bashing. Thanks. Pardon the pun but I don't have a dog in the fight. I was stating an observation not only on th coach but parents and players. The program as a whole. I have seen coaches names and negatives used on several threads especially as it relates to LCM and PNG football this past year. As long as it wasn't down right personal there didn't seem to be a problem.
  8. I don't think it was bashing but you have the power to decide if it was. I hope you will set the standard of what is bashing on this entire site that tight in the future. I will rephrase: There is a problem with team chemistry in Nederland. They have the talent to win and hopefully will Tuesday.

  12. Just curious about how many baseball players will have to miss the first day due to basketball? Some off the top of my head are: Vidor: Sims PNG: Deron, Weathersby, Berwick Nederland: Dean, both Pitts LCM: Gonzales
  13. I like Coach Saveat stating the goal is to win a district championship. It seemed with three teams going and now with four teams going to the playoffs too many teams in all sports set their goals solely on making the playoffs instead of winning district. Going in as a first place team should always be the goal.
  14. Wrong! Abel beat English at Nederland during the Nederland Tournament the first year English came to Nederland. He hasn't beat English in district since English came to Nederland. Nederland has the better individual talent but PNG plays a more consistent team game. If Nederland plays as a team they win, if not PNG takes this one.
  15. 1. PNG Don't have the pitching although Spikes, Benoit, and Woods are good. They have similar talent(Benoit, Jalali, Spikes, Stone, Reyenga, Woods, etc.) to the other teams. I think the difference is coaching. Jay Stone is as good a coach as you can get. 2. WB 5A program that always puts a solid team together. Might be an off year. 3. Nederland I don't think espn is crazy. Bellow, Laird, and Dean should provide a solid core for the bullpen Nederland has. Experienced infield with Bellow, Vidrine, Pitts, and Terracina returning. Nederland will have as good a shot as anyone. 4. BC New good coach in Chad Landry. Hicks, Hubbard, Snyder, Robertson, and co. should win again. 5. Vidor Could move up. Have to see how they respond without Fontnow and Bunner. Hester will be as good as anyone pitching. Bruce, Sims, Haglar add experience. Kyle Green could also be the difference here. 6. LCM Finished tied for third and had the tie breaker. Not much changing here. Will rely on offense more than pitching(although the pitching will be solid with Brown and Waddell) or defense. 7. BH Another program that is always in the mix. 8. Jasper will be solid as always. 9. OF Statum, Felts, Peevy, etc. Good talent. 10. Buna Strong pitching(Hillin) will carry them far.
  16. It depends on if the position is open for competition. T. Smith might compete for the QB spot.

Trey Burrell - Hardin-Jefferson 20. Dominque Bailey - Jasper 21. Pheal Hill - Silsbee 22. Hunter Gonzales - LC-M 23. Darius Davis - WO-S 24. Corey Tolar - Big Sandy 25. Jared Williamson - Vidor Base on what I've seen noone on Vidor or Nederland's team is playing at a level that warrants being anywhere on this list. Don't let them live on their past history, make them earn it. Weathersby from PNG should be on the list. Breon Johnson should move into the top ten if not top five.
  19. Nope. I am of that opinion also. im starting to think the same thing decarlos is not the same kid he was last year he says he waiting till the playoffs to be the kid everyone expects him to be but right now ozens destiny is in breons hands they will only go as far as breon takes them Breon has definitely been the better of the two I have seen this year. Gives it his all every game. Decarlos's attitude must be an issue if he is waiting until the playoffs. Skills have to be honed, just think what he could be by playoff time if he worked hard every game.
  20. Ozen (-2 1/2) @ Nederland Central (-9 1/2) @ Vidor PNG @ LCM (-7 1/2) Lumberton @ Livingston (-16 1/2) Orangefield (-9 1/2) @ Bridge City Hamshire-Fannett @ Silsbee (-41 1/2) Hardin-Jefferson (-11 1/2) @ WOS Warren (-2 1/2) @ Buna Deweyville @ Kountze (-36 1/2) East Chambers (-8 1/2) @ Hardin
  21. You must not have been at the game. Lumberton shot around 80% in the first half. That is a fluke. Nederland on the other hand shot less than 50% from the field as well as the free throw line and was just down a point at the half. Also a fluke. If both teams play a full 4 quarters, Lumberton still gets beat but not by as much.

  23. The title of the article says it all. It should state WOC Board to review bussing for Extra Curricular Activities not just athletes. It has to be in place for all activities or none. If it is not didtrict policy to bus for all activities then it should come down to if athletics wants to use part of it's budget to do so.
