I think he was there one year. Not certain on this but I think most of the varsity team is graduating. How many years since they lost a district game? Probably ends next year. Maybe he didn't want that.

Absolutely pathetic post. He has made the playoffs 2 or 3 times in his 6 years I believe and beyond wins and loses he is a man of character. This is more important than the almighty W friend. Aggies seems to know a lot about many coaches around here...I believe this man has won a state championship as a head coach...can anyone say if this is true? And he's not a good coach???

Are you serious? You are delusional by either ignorance or passion. I hope it's passion because I can live with that. For you to continue to come on here and talk about how bad of coach Martel was is very classless. By the way, he made the playoffs a few years back in a district where they were one of the smallest school. I believe HJ, HF, and Orangefield are basically the same numbers. I thought HJ did a great job this year, much better than expected. I say that the coach did a good job. Beating WOS next year...it's possible but highly unlikely. I'll put $10,000 down that HJ does not beat Silsbee next year. Silsbee will win district. HJ might make the playoffs with what they have returning...but remember next year 4 teams are going in so they might make it as the 4th team.

I think Foreman deserves a shot...but I wouldn't expect him to go anywhere that there isn't much speed...and somewhere that football is second to basketball.

Wow!!! I was hoping to see this kid play in big games on TV. Totally shocked he decided on that one...but big congrats to him and his family!!!

I'm pretty sure PNG is good at Volleyball, Soccer, and Softball year in and year out. CC team usually is in the mix as well. I bet Soccer runs more than Basketball. Maybe one day PNG will be good in basketball...maybe not. Either way...no excuse for a 104-9 drumming in a non shot clock level. I was not at the game and I don't even have a problem with the coach pressing with her 2nd string (doubt their is a third string in basketball...usually only 10 on varsity...12 at most) if she wants to work on the press and they are up by 50. Obviously that probably took place in the first half. Can someone tell us the score by quarter??? No way for us to really know what happened if we weren't there, but I find it hard to believe they weren't pushing the ball most of the game.

Buna has a good basketball team and Silsbee isn't very good right now. No shock at this score.

"Steven" how do you know what each school averages? Are you a coach at one of these schools? There is NO WAY any school averages a 4.6 40. That is one of the dumbest statements I have ever read on here. Is WOS and Silsbee fast? Yes but 4.6...come on man. And BC wasn't near as fast as they were last year. And I will have to agree with what someone said before. Why do you have two people on staff that used to be AD's (and successful ones) sitting behind a DC with three years experience (if that is a true statement). The young guy might turn out to be a good one but let him sit behind some experienced people so he can be a student of the game.

Funny though...you don't win in the pro's and college and it's the coaches fault. People in the GT don't win and it's blame the school board.

When did the school board become the ones to blame for winning and losing? Some of the most crooked school boards in this area have good football programs.

Don't expect him to coach Football or Track that doesn't have speed. He has applied for a lot of jobs over the past couple of years but only at schools that have speed (from what I have seen). He should get his chance soon.

When you get a first round bye being one and done is a little different than losing in the first round.

HJ can't beat Tarkington unless the bus driver gets lost. I believe the only 3A team in the state that can beat them is Abilene Wylie. I have seen Tarkington play a few times this year and they might be better than last year. The only anyone beats them before state is if they beat themselves. I do think HJ will reach the 3rd round though.

Where is Richardson from?

21-3A has been down the past 2 years. I used to go watch a lot of local 3A volleyball but it has not been very good as of late. That's why I have been watching 4A the last two years. Tarkington and Orangefield are the only 3A teams I have seen this year that are any good. Sorry.
