Let's be realistic. Wos beat a crappy liberty team, destroyed a Scarborough team that hasn't won a game in five years does that mean we are any less talented? Of course not. I don't care how good or bad you may think a team is cause you can only cruise through the playoffs for so long then you have to earn it. Gilmer and Wos are not in the championship game because one had an easier road to travel. Both had to play their best to reach this stage. I believe this game can go either way. Depends on who executes their game plan the best. That being said "LETS GO MUSTANGS".

its the aassumption he said we can't match their speed when he hasn't even seen us. IMO speed does not determine the winner of this game mistakes will.

Another example of government sticking their nose into something they are not needed. I agree the playoff structure is flawed but not to a degree that government interference is need. Don't they have more pressing issues they should be working on. I don't believe the extra playoff games are causing the education system to collapse. They should try addressing quality of education. They should be addressing issues like making sure every kid in Texas has access to a good education and opportunities weather they are from poor or rich communities. Just another politician trying to make a name for himself by addressing an issue that's not really an issue.

I appreciate you wisdom, and advice to this team. I think you are on to something in your statement. I have a question. How are referees picked to officiate a state game? Are they pick from the Austin area, Dallas area, or from through-out the State of Texas?

if I understood coach t correctly they are given a choice of several groups then both teams have to sign off on who is selected. Coach made an error in judgement when he gave the crew who officiated the hj game a second chance one that he will not make again. As far as the state game I'm not sure where the crews are from. They are probably chosen from assessment reports from coaches around the state.

Still disagree on the slide play. I was there and I've seen it on film several times. At this point it doesn't matter. As for the 4th down spot I won't argue your point a bit. 3 inches one way or the other and your playing Gladewater instead of Gilmer. The Bears were far and away the best team we faced this year. Still with 1:09 on the clock and no timeouts and 84,yards to go we got it done. Gladewaters line were huge. They almost willed themselves to a victory. I have watched 0 footage of WOS so I don't know how we will line up in the trenches. We are not huge on the lines but well coached and play great technique. How big is WOS on the lines?

our front line on both sides of the ball are not huge, but what they lack in size they more than make up in speed and technique. Their biggest attributes are heart and discipline. After some of the film I have seen on gilmer I believe we will match up just fine. I am very confident that the mustangs will play up to Gilmers awsome team as we have been doing all post season. Something about being underdogs brings out a special determination like have not seen in some time. The mustangs will give gilmer all they want and then some. Good luck to both teams.

You made an effort to get back to this board for some spirited discussion, not labeling people who most on this board know personally. If you're labeling Gasilla as "one of those guys" based on a few posts, you really are lost. He is a great guy, as anyone on this board and most on the "downlow" board will attest. If you expect to come to our board and see people saying that we're outmatched and in an impossible matchup, you've come to the wrong place.

Congrats mustangs on a very tough win over what I thought was the best team we faced all year. Sinton my hats off to you. You were very good much better than I thought you were going to be.I felt like we had so much heart last night not to get down when yall shocked us on the first series. I'm so impressed with our teams dermination that I feel that was a very big factor.

Let me be crystal clear: the defense has performed better lately than at the beginning of the year. The defense was NOT overwhelming in the games that WOS lost. They have been "good" all year but not "overwhelming".

If they had played all year as they are now they would be undefeated. WOS is playing high level competition and shutting them down. They are playing better now than they were.

Many WOS fans were railing away when they lost the 2 games earlier this year that the team was not as good as last years team.

I have never heard of ANYONE in my life being offended when someone states that their team is playing better and is on a championship pace.

WOS appears to have an overwhelming defense. I predict a title game against Gilmer. Will be at that one as it is close enough to the house. My prediction is a toss up either way. WOS has taken a step forward this year. Hopefully they will get the title.

sorry, but that drive from the woodlands to Baytown might be too much to bear for some HJ fans, but seriously, the traffic is a nightmare in the woodlands...you looking at a 1.5- 2hr drive because of the traffic.

if your going to the hj game then to wos game I have a suggested route. When leaving hj game head north on feeder road to 242 then east on 242 to 1314. Turn right onto 1314 to hwy 59 then South on 59. Should make life a little easier.

hahaha...ladybug....tonight was very vanilla the play book was closed....sweeny played LM earlier in the year and already knew what was going to happen and prepared for it. LM pass defense improved as in the first meeting, they picked LM apart. Aside from the one long run and the 3rd dn jump pass td, sweeny had nothing. again, another td was left on the field and the freshman kicker missed two xp.

now, the donkeys, I mean mustanks had some trouble for half the game smh....seams as giddings ran out of gas.

I have been a member of setxsports from its start. I have also been a member of 3adownlow,smokey and a few others. I have to say setx is by far the best organized. I don't post much but do enjoy reading all the different opinions on here. I just have to say that I have read many controversial and down right disrespectful comments on here over the years and as far as I can see all were handled with the up most fairness and respect. Just wanted to say this site has always allowed its posters their opinions however bogas or absurd they may have been. That's what freedom is. My hats off to those who run and manage this site.
