  1. I was being sarcastic FF.  The Dallas area teams: WF, WF Rider, Pearce, Plano, etc are always stacked with div 1 players.  Probably a good reason they hold most of the titles.  However, all of those other teams with 20+ div 1 players in that area (including Rider, whom FW defeated) were not in the final game of the season like FW and RP.  Two quality teams got together, and the outcome was one team had to win.  Heard FW owned the second half with most of the oppurtunities.  LP must have made some adjustments.

  2. FF takes over as Head Coach of the Mustangs!  He knows everything there is to know, and they will now win every state title from now til he decides to retire.  You are of course volunteering, right?

20+ Div 1 players?  Compared to the Dallas teams' what - maybe 5?  I think you should do it FF!  Based on what ive heard on here, you are the only one truly qualified to take them all the way.

Congrats Friendswood on a great season.  Way to represent our region at State.  Nine seniors sounds like a lot of experience to lose.  Best of luck next season.

  3. Its ok Rebel.  None of these top teams started out that way.  Yes, they earned it.  Lumberton will continue to grow and get better while people like this sit on top boasting of their success probably having no hand in it.

My vote goes to Waco this year.  I dont think FF will be singing about a 4th Regional Championship.  It will be a very good game to watch.

  4. Finally, a little common ground.  The two coaches sound more alike now.  There were two girls who sat the bench for taking shots. How many own-goals did the other team have in the FW game?  And i'm sure you read how long the Lady Raiders played keep away and how many times they passed the ball right up to the goal front before backing it out, and worked on crosses using headers only.  And Soccerfan, in other posts, its been said that anything more than 5-0 is running up the score.  This is why i made my statement about opinions.  Keep in mind that it is no more absurd for people to think 9-0 is running up the score than it is for you to come on here and say 11-0 is.  Read above post about opinions.

  5. If I must point out the obvious, Soccerfan is indeed the FW coach.  Hi coach.  Only you could know the score was "intentionally" kept at nine.  I am a bit confused about your past 10 and 11 goal games though.  ???  Here i go with more of the obvious, you say it was kept out of double-digits and then you say a lopsided double digit victory of 10-0 is good enough for you.  Two things i know now.  1: Everyone has their own opinion. and 2: None of them are right nor wrong.  They are just someones own ideas that sometimes shouldnt ooze like vomit from their mouth without thought.  You do realize 10 is a double-digit number?

  6. Lumberton beats one team in a playoff game by five more goals then Freindswood beat three teams during district play and suddenly the Region 3 Champion 'representative' can come on here and make a fool of himself.  We just talk up our teams for padding because deep inside we all know that FW is undefeatable.  ::)  I havent seen your reply to the posts about your team barley squeaking by with 10-0 wins in the playoffs.  I guess since everybody has an opinion, and your a fan of the best team on the planet, we'll just have to listen to yours while trying not wet ourselves everytime you mention their name.  I meant from laughing of course.  ;D ;D

  7. I don't know Coach Hopson so I can't comment on how classy he is or his lack of class but come on,  We all know the Lumberton girls are mostly girls that have played together in club soccer and were pretty good together.  ANY coach can field them on the field and come out ahead.

It is unfortunate that Central's team is that quality.  Just because they're unable to get to the ball first and score does not mean they're not trying.  The fact that they showed up to the game and played the whole 80 minutes, in my book shows that they tried, maybe not with their hearts, but it may have been their best.  If that's the best 11 girls that Central can put on the field, it is unfortunate but it isn't their fault.  Blaming UIL or the other team shows the current state of affairs of our country, no personal responsibility, always somebody else's fault.

It is what it is my friend.  Game's over, move on.  Score could have been 30+ to 0.  Good job Ladies!!

This country is also ran off of checks and balances.  If noone questions government, we would all be stuck with their decisions without a voice.  Check out the boy's and girl's brackets for the playoffs and tell me it's nothing less than comical.  It makes no sense!  1st place teams playing bidistrict games while some 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams have byes.  Fact; not excuse.

  8. the name 'weasel' is fitting.  Neither team dominated anything in that game.  both teams played as if they were afraid to lose.  Shots on goal were even.  The game was played mainly in the midfield.  Both defenses were outstanding and the goal came of a goalie miscue late on a free kick from 40 out. I'm sure that Lumberton is looking forward to returning the favor when it counts.

  9. Probably Lumberton because one girl got the only card the team has received the entire year for walking to get a ball that was out of bounds all the way against the fence instead of running for it.  Give me a break centeref.  Isnt it the home team's responsibility to provide ball shaggers?  Other than that reffing blunder, it was a well-played back and forth nailbiter.

  10. perhaps i dont know who you pull for.  But it only seems that someone from dog town would come on here and say something misguided like Nederland dominated Lumberton as a means of simply stating Lumb and PNG arent the two best teams in the area.

BTW, i agree with bullets as well.  Time will tell.

  11.   Just like last year, they will all start finding the net once district rolls around.  And that will hopefully continue on into the playoffs.  10 didnt score a goal against WB.  And you did say Lumberton basically has no offense.  Thats what you get when you make judgements after only watching one game.

  12. uh...yeah i would have to disagree with that statement...

nederland dominated the first game against lumberton and beat them in a shoot out the second

so i wouldnt necessarily say lumberton is better....

if you take away i think number 10?the blonde one..up front lumberton basically has no offense.......

and for png...i cant say anything yet..

Dominated?  Dare i say who dominated at the Lamar Tournament.  If Lumberton would have netted 3 of the 6 wide open oppurtunities there, you wouldnt even be on here.  Kudos for winning in a triple shootout.  Especially after a 12 to 2 shots on goal ratio.  Funny how you say Lumberton has no offense, but you dont talk about Nederland's lack of scoring ability.

Back on topic.  It will take a great effort from Lumberton or PNG to pull this one out.  Both have good defenses and well-rounded attacks.  I foresee a very defensive standoff with Lumberton putting it all on the line at the end to win at home.  1-0 Lumb.

  13. So you can tell WTB to get his story straight because he wasnt at the game and then say one of the best, IMO, disciplinarians around has problems with discipline like you are there everyday.  I believe WTB has the same right to "call em like he sees em" as you do.  Right?

I think it comes down to the fact that Lumberton has been used to some success as of late and the kids want to continue that.  Emotions run a little high at times and i can guarantee you that the guy at the top will have them under control AND back on top quickly.

I can judge a coach by doing the best he can with what he's got.  So the guy at the top is pretty dang good at what he does in Lumberton.  And if you dont know what he's got, you should probably stick to griping in the stands since you "Know some of what's involved"

You are right that it is a pitty they dont see each other again...................

    TIL POSTSEASON!  ;)

  14. "Football coach forced to coach something else".  Now that is pretty darn funny right there.  I'll take a shot in the dark here and say you dont have a clue about Coach L.  I do, so let me just say that the guy loves soccer and fought hard to get that job.

If your whole statement isnt an oxy-moron, then i need to go back to resource class and try it all over.  NO offense to Ned's coach, but, as you say, they are so much more talented and skillful and Coach L hasnt lost to them yet, I might have to rethink my comparison.  Even after losing a slew of talent including Brackin, Waldrup, Garza, Bell, Miller....etc.  They are both good coaches who have different approaches to the game, and different types of athletes.
