Those last 4 weeks of the district schedule were not supposed to have been changed. Now I have no certain knowledge but have been watching Livingston'schedule as I have nephews playing for them. Their schedule had them playing Lee on Thursday night(12th) originally sand the school website still has it that way on the altered schedule.

Jones definitely could run when he had to. The difference between him, Thomas and Reed was he had a back that ran for around 3,000 yds thus he didn't have near the number of rushing attempts they had.

Hmm most interesting stat on there: time of possession in the second half Newton 12:49, Silsbee 11:11, first half Newton 13:32 Silsbee 10:28. Looks like our defense wasn't on the field near as much as was thought in that second half.

My question with either Lowe or Barnes as qb or even a RB would be whether they could take the punishment of either position. I would hate to lose that dual threat at receiver but they are weapons that need to touch the ball.

We definitely have a lot to work on no doubt there. This game wasn't really as close as the score in my eyes. Our offense had one big play score, and then maybe gains 10 yds for the field goal. One big punt return and that's it. Offensive line needs to improve, it's only game one. Same can be said for the qb role. Have to get more time but also when you have a little time need to get rid of it a little quicker. We definitely need to get the ball in both those speedy receivers hands, but those routes are took too long to come open. Not really worried about the running game at this point. One difference Adonis is facing is that he doesn't have that big threat of a running qb back there helping open that middle up for him. One thing about tonight's game, you are not going to run the ball outside on Newton. As far as the defensive side of the ball, well it needs some work too. I saw some things I liked, at times, good hitting, some good tackling, some good coverage and some just outright good plays. However I also saw backs not get covered coming out of the backfield, Newton getting outside on us too much, and giving up too many yards on cutbacks. But like I said about the offense, it's early. We have only had one scrimmage before tonight. As far as special teams we had kind of a mixed bag. Some good punts and a few poor ones. Some god coverage on some of those punts. Good job on punt returns, didn't really get much of a kick return. And the bright spot, we have a kicker!!!! First game of the year we go 2-2 on extra points and get a 45 yd FIELD GOAL!!! It's only the first game against a always solid Newton team. Let's just sit back and see how these young men do.

Ok makes more sense than 16 and still in 8th grade, thus at least 2 years behind.
