1.

Does Buna have turf or natural grass?
Turf LOL
X2...LOL...we might have a few pieces laying around the batting cages over at The Diamond...maybe...
2. Rootin' for the Dawgs, win this one and Barbay may get a lifetime contract offer on the bus ride back to the 'Jewel of the Forest' Jasper, Texas!  GO DAWGS!  Wish I could make the ride, but my Coogs will need my support and maybe my first aid know how against WO-S here Friday.
3. BC has over 300 kids more than Buna, they are supposed to have won that game against the Coogs.  Buna, HF, OF and HJ would make a very competitive district year in and year out.  Add Kirbyville, Kountze...oh never mind, this was the old 3A district about 10 years ago when Silsbee and WO-S and BC was 4A.  Maybe the new UIL split will help out with this situation.
4. I agree with you DP8036, but with the old system, no offense to Deweyville, but you guys didn't stand a chance at the postseason in 10-2A...we (Buna) made it 3 times in 6 years and we are a big 2A school.  The Pirates best bet is to keep a select few kids at home on 'count' day and assure yourselves of dropping to 1A.  There will always be someone getting the shaft with the numbers game.  There has to be a bottom and a top limit, I understand that.  But how about splitting districts up, higher / lower.  21-3A should be Silsbee, WO-S and BC for the big school title and Buna, OF, HF and HJ for the small school based on enrollment.  Of course, Newton blows the whole smaller schools can't compete with larger schools theory out of the water, with the lowest enrollment in 10-2A by 40-50 kids.
5. I love my Coogs, but is this thread even necessary?  We'll take it like a man then turn our attention to OF, it is a must win for us if we have any chance left to make it to the postseason (and then we'll all be watching the BC/OF game for soem help!).  Go Buna!
6. Should be a good one, but I have to think Bunas' speed and desire to stay in the race for a playoff spot will push the Coogs to fight hard and get this one.  Go Cougars!
7. I think it is all about what opponent you are facing as to who can or cannot defend that offense You think?  Always tryin' to hold the lil' guy down...bustin' the Cougars' paws...LOL
8. Thats right...how bout that move up to 3A and leading the district in total O (yards per game that is)...good job Cougars, let's add to it this Friday night at HJ.
9. Not sure that 'Dark Horse' is the correct term here.  3rd place team however is.  BC has the edge right now due to it's come from behind win over Buna, but OF still has both Buna and BC on it's schedule.  Beating 1 of those teams is a must, beating both might be a tall order to ask of the Bobcats.  We could be looking at a 3 way tie come November 9th.
10.
I have been telling people for years that Kountze could be a sleeping giant in football. They always have a few big kids and tons of athletes in basketball and track. It just takes the right coach to get those kids fired up about football.
Don't think they are a sleeping giant by any means at least not in this district...no playoffs for the Lions again, no matter what the Beaumont Slanterprise prints.
11. Should be a good one.  Hawks are seemingly on the rise, but the Cats are as always, a hard nosed football team with a solid running game.  Good luck to both squads for an injury free game.
12. I can see Kountze taking Kville, not so sure about AP.  Also not sure that Woodville will slip up enough to let the Lions back in the hunt.  Should be Newton, EC and Woodville headed to the playoffs.
13. Glad thats all it was, it looked more like a knee issue the way he went down.  I know things would have changed later in the game, but Buna kept the Silsbee offense at bay with the starter in.  I was really impressed with the backup.  After he came in, the Tigers scored on 3 straight posessions.  Give the starter all the rest he needs, let him get ready for the WO-S game and the playoffs.
14. Some (very few) will continue to spout their opinions, but most will not want to step out from behind that Wizard of Oz curtain (screenname) and reveal their true identity.
15.
I think at the pro/college level it's worse than HS. I think these boards are probably policed a little too much, but the people in charge of the site are just that, in charge. If you don't like the rules, you don't have to be a member or visit the site. I don't agree with players names being said in a negative way, but I do believe the coaches should be fair game. I remember a thread being shutdown about coaches being on the hot seat. I didn't see anything wrong with that. I think there's a line in general but most people are good about not crossing it at the high school level. Hell, I've seen worse fights at a flag football pee-wee game.
No doubt, kids #'s or names should not be mentioned in anything but a positive and encouraging manner.  But I am not sure that I agree with those on here bashing coaches either.  We just had a thread locked that started as bashing of some local coaches, but turned into a discussion of which kids should be starting and why some are not.  So it started out being the coaches fault, but it ended up bad mouthing a few kids (kids that read these threads).  Personally, I would prefer if the forum made you use your real name as your screen name or open up the profiles so that they are public so we would all know who was doing the trash talking....it sure would cut down on the bashing and sour grapes and make it more of a discussion and not a way to blindly bash coaches and or players.  9 times out of 10, I would bet, that those bashing coaches have a kid that is not playing much or at all or feels like he or she should be playing a different position.  Just my .02...
16. Should be a good ballgame.  I think OF has way too many injuries right now to be as good as they can be, but I'm sure Coach Smalley has a plan in place.  Horns have looked better this year than in the past few, so this is one of those games Vegas is staying away from.  Good luck to both squads for an injury free matchup.
17. Haven't got to see the JV yet, heading out Thursday night to watch them though.
18. With some of the ones who have ventured into Buna, they must have been grandfathered in if in fact there is a physical test they must take.  Cause my granny could out run them.
19.
This is the football forum not basketball
Play nice now.
20.
BC was already making adjustments before the half.  Buna last scored with over 8 minutes left in the half. Buna was being shutdown long before halftime got there.  Defensive backs couldn't cover BC receivers just as they haven't covered receivers all year.
I agree, teams can light us up when they go to the pass.    I also agree on the Patrick being our best overall athlete, and in a running offense, surely there is a Soph or Junior that can get the ball to Ford and Biddle.  Could not agree more. See, you thought I was going to argue with you and here I am agreeing.
21. But, Silsbee doesn't need to be "state title" good in order to take down Buna You are correct sir.  But this thread is almost as useless as the Newton v/s Warren thread from last week, do the Silsbee faithful really need to talk trash?  Probably not.  Silsbee is twice the enrollment of Buna, you should and more than likely will give us a sound beating, so, it's expected.
22. Was not at the game, had other committments, that is why I am asking for your point of view.  As far as passing, the passing QB could not play this year due to previous injuries, losing him has really hurt this team as far as not having to be so one dimensional.  However with that being said, I am taking nothing away from Patrick, I think alot of Glen and truly know he leaves everything he has out on the field every Friday night.  Breaking him and a number of others out every few series might help as the game gets into the 4th quarter, especially on the offensive side of the ball.  Once again not arguing your points, just getting your side.  Riding Solo, you just made my other point.  Your up 24-6 at the half...why not stick to the game plan, it's working.  Hats off to the BC coaches for making the adjustments that a team who is behind 24-6, should make.
