  1. I think it should be a combination honestly, put something in there where you can run play-action and win those one-on-ones because the DB bit on something they weren't supposed to. When I say that I'm not talking about Slot-t you have to give your QB a chance to throw and a chance for your WR to run a route or even a double move route especially in man coverage if, BC wants to put up points this is what I think they need to do. A one back set under center or gun double TE or H back and start mixing it up.

  2. I think this will be a close hard fought game might go with the Eagles because G-view is a young team, but if the passing game is as legit as they say they might have trouble. On the other hand Woodville is big and strong, but in my opinion not very fast I've seen that a lot lately that Woodville is "fast" they have average speed but I wouldn't say they're going to win the game because of their speed they don't have team speed like people say they do. They might have one guy that can go or maybe two.

Dist 9 looks pretty good on paper but idk if its false hope this year or not.... Ex. Franklin played lorena and lost 20 to 30 in a close game... Teague lost to lorena 49 to 7... Cameron beat mexia by about 14 and teague lost to mexia something like 49 to 7... Teague is in a 4 way tie for first in their dist... Either the dist is down and everyone is playing about the same level or everyone has kicked it up a notch... Dist 9 is a mystery to me right now we will know more about dist 9 after the first round when they play cameron troy and rockdale

I heard that Teague lost all of those games early but since then has turned it on and found their groove. Not sure how true this might be, but it's Teague these guys look like the University of Tennessee running down the sideline...or well they used to, so if it's true that they have found themselves i wouldn't want to play them in the second round if i'm Woodville just because their going to be out sized and Teague is going to have more and better athletes from what past teams have shown.

  4. I've watched A LOT of football this year and here is what I have to say about this...if Newton played PNG, Ned, Vidor it would be close well fought games they could definitely win. Newton would get pimp slapped in the face against PAM or WB no questions asked. Carthage could come down here and beat any school they wanted to by 2 TDs other than PAM and WB so that is out of the picture, don't think anyone expected the Dawgs to be as good this year....but they are. With United that is the hardest one because it really just depends on how United decides to play it could be blowout in United's favor Newton could show up and dominate it's a toss up but I'd push more towards United in a closer game. I have no idea where Wood-ville got thrown into the picture but Newton would take them to the WOOD-SHED i'm thinking a 63-0 type ball game there, as to anyone else in 3A any division.

Yes, Newton has the athletes, but it all starts upfront Newton can hang with the majority of the schools in SETX upfront, but they can't hang with the bigger PAM and WB schools upfront.

I still stand by my first statement bout Martin being the best player on either team. At the same time, it is but merely an opinion. When I say Woodville is easily  the favorite to win this district, it's not a knock on EC, who will undeniably compete for the title this year. Don't misunderstand me. The Bucs will be better than any district opponent we faced last year and give us a reason to worry. This is also probably the best team Woodville has fielded in the last 10 years lol looking forward to a great game!

The 2017 Woodville team with castle and lockhart and the other 11 seniors is the best team Woodville has put on the field in the past 10 years by far and if we're counting he 2008 team they're behind them.

  6. Watched LCM play Newton in the scrimmage and yes Newton killed them but I still would not be surprised if LCM pulled this one out. LCM can play catch and that QB is athletic and in the past these are two things the woodville defense struggles with. What it's going to come down to is if the LCM defense can stop the run if so they win because Woodville cannot pass or haven't been able to in the past two years, so that's what I think it's going to come to.

    NEDERLAND

6 starters return on offense- QB,WR, 4 LINEMAN

    5 starters return on defense- 4 DB's, 1 D-LINE

Watched Nederland play their last game in NRG against a very good Manvel team. I was very impressed by the way they reacted to adversity, never got down and fought for four quarters.

Can’t believe a Woodville or San Augustine wouldnt play against Newton of course I know the list goes on but still would like to see Newton have 10 games.

SA would be out of their minds to play against this newton team, we're talking from a post I saw the other day not sure if this is correct or not 55 D1 offers divided between 5 players...this is a 3A DIVISION 2 school who would want to play them

  9. To quote WOSgrad about his last four points, it's crazzy how Kirbyville in the past four years went from winning district championships in football, the huge rivalry with EC in football for four years, winning multiple District championships in baseball, getting second place in the 4x1 in the State Relays, COMPETING at all levels, being down against Rockdale early and instead of laying down started hitting them harder the more the game went on. Being ranked top in the state with the BADDEST band in the land so much tradition just seemed to be lost. Making a historic baseball run with your ace who pitched against Texas last night out the whole season leaving only two seniors and still making it as far as they did, while in the dugout before the game against CH even starts the whole team had to turn their phones off because of all the turmoil on social media over the Sup's situation their phones wouldn't stop going off. Thats what Kirbyville Athletics used to be about, you saw that Wildcat on that helmet or jersey and you thought oh S*** because you knew you were about to get it for 48 minutes or 7 innings win or lose. Kirbyville baseball won 6 extra inning baseball game last year 3 of them being in the playoffs that freaking heart right there. I hope to see the Kirbyville tradition return because it sucks seeing HF hold their beer.
