  1. Ozen transfer will not play until ALL UIL t's and I's are crossed and dotted. And I mean double crossed and dotted. We won't forfiet anything over one person no matter how good they are. We haven't made it this far with scrubs. We'll be fine. Not saying he is a scryb because I believe differently but we have made it 11-0 with 7 shut outs with our current roster.
  2. Coach Larry Spears at Community Christian. How many games have ended at the half due to the mercy rule? And he is a former Mustang player!!!😉
  3. Congrats to the Longhorns for fighting back in district and now taking Cleveland. Good luck in your first play-off run since 2000!
  4. I actually emailed the HS principal & sent letters to the superintendent & all 7 school board members. The principal did response & also forwarded my email to the head coach. He responded as well & basically defended himself by saying he did NOT high five his player & that it was an isolated incident where the player said he lost his composure. I know we are moving on but it just bugs me that we or rather they are teaching kids that this is alright.
  5. As a Mustang fan who typically roots against Bridge City, I enjoyed rooting for them last night. What a great fight they put up against Coldsprings and I believe with all my blue and silver heart that had Menard not gotten hurt, BC would've come home with the win! It was nice sitting with Mustang fans, seeing who could yell BIG RED the loudest.
  6. Jamarcus Rhodes from WO-S can put them right on the 1 yd line!
  7. Lindsey was there...in the huddle cheering on his team all night long. Sometimes he's easy to miss when he isn't padded up but you won't miss him the next time he hits the field...and that's a promise!!
  8. His ability to jump is amazing! and he's pretty fast on the track. I was glad I saw two of his jumps...and they were his best! Good luck to him at state!
  9. Do we know that about Jones for a fact? Everywhere I look it still has the Rockdale guy listed as winning...and he had more offenses than just a lane violation.
  10. And from what I understand, there wasn't an ambulance at the Bridge City game either. I can promise you that we want the best for our kids, and when I say our kids I mean ALL of them-Hamshire-Fannett, WO-S, Bridge City or whatever. If there is one thing that I learned from Reggies' death, it is that most people from this area came together under the circumstances and didn't care about color, race, social status, etc. but wanted to show their support. Most of our varsity and JV kids stopped me this morning and asked if I had heard how the HF player was doing. I am glad to say that I had a contact in HF that told me about him and I was able to ease their minds. Hopefully the HJ player is OK also.
  11. That's just what WO-S needs right now...alot of criticism from people who don't understand and probably don't want to. The fans were hollering for the ambulance to hurry up! They were slow in our other situation and slow last night. The kids understood the importance that the emergency personnel were a vital part in someone surviving and only wanted the best for the player that was down. If you weren't in our stadium on September 17, you just can't understand what we went through. Many thanks go to those who have had compassion on us and for the most part have been supportive. We DO appreciate that.
  12. We looked really good tonight! We didn't seem to miss a shot until the middle of the second quarter. When Coldsprings was up by 11 in the third the coldsprings coaches were laughing and jumping up and down...the end of the game was priceless...I'll leave it at that!! Go 'Stangs!! You definitely earned this one and I have no doubt that we can do to Silsbee what the girls did a few years ago to them the third time around...Go 'Stangs!!!
  13. I'm floored at people that don't have anything better to do than discuss something that they know nothing about! I could name plenty of people that made worse mistakes than this and are even playing in the Pros. This is so ridiculous.
  14. Our prayers are with you, kirby. You are a great athlete and I enjoyed watching you last night. Hopefully it will be something minor and you can make your decision about the future without having to listen to too many people tell you what to do. Praers from Mustangland!!
  15. Well, the post is...best passing quarterback from YOUR school, but I would have to agree on Todd Dodge being the best from this area. I was a junior in 1980 and watch several play-off games, and of course the TJ-WO-S game and he and his reciever, (was it Brent Duhon?) were the talk of the state that year. I have not been surprised to follow his success since then.
  16. Andre Bevil for WO-S a couple of year ago. He wasn't even supposed to start and he took the starting job and set several records. He was unbelievable and will be great for Lamar.
  17. Each of the four received a certificate from the governor and each also received a flag that was flown over the capital and another certificate from Mike Hamilton's office. It was such an honor for those who were there. Gov. Perry talked to each of the track champions there on a personal level, asking what event that they had won and even telling stories of his own. He also asked about college, etc. When he asked James if he was a senior and James said, "No," he said, "Well I plan on seeing you here next year" and with confidence and a smile, James said, "Yes sir!" And yes, I will be there Saturday! When it comes to my kids, I wouldn't miss it for the world!
  18. This was really nice. I just wish the other three could've been there. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Hopefully for James, he will get to do it twice, or maybe three times.
  19. Well, my daughter's goal is to take Coach Hooks' place...she is a student trainer now because that is as close as she can get to actually playing, but this area better be ready for her...
  20. I love it!! Trey Franks runs a 10.15 100m-I was there and saw it-and everyone wants to add their two cents to why he ran so fast. Everyone else had the same tail wind he did and NO ONE was beside him when he crossed the finish line!! I think the time behind him was 10.53, so whether he had help from a tail wind or not...he was like lightning! And yes, it runs in the family. Both of his brothers ran, and placed at state track meets.
